Why are u using autopilot anyway ??? In a world where data is coin of the realm,-á and transmissions are guarded by no better sentinels than man-made codes and corruptible devices, there is no such thing as a secret. Dr Kio Masada |

I don't know if you're posting in a tongue-in-cheek manner or genuinely unaware that setting a route in space gives you what is called an auto-pilot route, regardless of whether you actually engage your auto-pilot. |

I think its a great feature, nice little immersion touch and they do represent your actual position rather than just being random lines to random stars.
Would be nice if there was a little info box for noteable systems to i.e. Jita being a trade hub, other systems with lore, etc. |

I actually reported the lack of that line as a bug (When this feature first was on Sisi). It came back "intended behavior". OK, now its a feature request. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

It annoys me when people say they only want the Dev's to focus on what they perceive as "useful". Let the Developers decide what is and what isn't useful. I for one love the change, it really adds to the immersion of the game. The little things tend to go a long way in such a big universe. I love to reload during a battle!-áThere's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver missile into a well greased chamber... |

TBH as an option as a new player it would have gone a long way to engaging me more with the game. |

I remember this feature back in... what red moon rising was it? They had to take it out because it ate up too much memory (at least the map loaded in the background) it seems though the stars remained the entire time. They didn't have the lines back then though...

Second star to the right and streight on till morning was peter pan, not star trek. Ishtar Starfire: As a pure caldari pilot i feel that with the deployment of the new tier 3 battlecruisers you have given an unfair advantage to everyone except caldari pilots. an example would be like giving a fat kid a whole cake while the skinny kid has to watch and get nothing.

It'd be pretty easy to have the starmap actually reflect the real layout of Eve. The location of each and every system within the cluster is stored in the database as XYZ coordinates. With that information, calculating the relative position of all other starts to the system you're in (as well as how bright they should be) isn't all that difficult, and from there, drawing lines between them is rather simple.
Whether that's actually how it works (versus just being random or something) is a question for CCP though.
e: Also, as a qualified bittervet, I will say that is the most pointless yet completely awesome new feature EVE has seen in awhile. **** the haters, it owns. its called detail and immersion... maybe something you cannot feel because you are very left minded but some people experience a sensation of joy when they develope a sense of orientation. |

Nice, but it doesn't handle multiple waypoints. At all. You get disjointed bits of routes between the waypoints, but not the current one.
As someone who routinely makes multi-drop deliveries and pickups, it's a disappointment. |

Just wanted to say that I love it too. Would love it even more if the first line connected back to the gate I'm heading towards and then some blue effect projected back from the gate all the way to my ship. |

Yes, the quote was originally from Peter Pan.
Kirk used it at the end of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. In addition to many lines from Shakespeare, famous lines seemed to be a running gag in that movie, most of them intentionally attributed to the wrong source.
"You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon." - Gorkon
"Perhaps you have heard Russian epic of Cinderella? If shoe fits, wear it! " - Chekov
"An ancestor of mine maintained that when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." - Spock
"There is an old Vulcan proverb: only Nixon could go to China" - Spock
"Guess who's coming to dinner. " - Chekov
Anyway, this has been your daily dose of useless trivia. Enjoy! |

I, too, hate neat things with no real use. Let me guess, your home contains nothing that is nice to look at but completely useless.
