why are people complaining about the hurrucane? Its still the fastest Combat BC slightly edging out the active tanked brutix and way faster than anything else .
This means that it never has to commit to any fight ever; if another BC does something it doesnt like, it just leaves; try that with a brutix where youre basically always in scramble range meaning that you cant even leave if things dont go your way.
Having the best speed and range basically means that you should be the worst in basically every other way; I think people severely underestimate the ability to run away if things get bad.
I have a hurricane that runs 425s an energy neut, two shield extenders and a MWD, if your skills lack a bit, go for a single extender and EM hardener.
The hurricane is still one of the better battlecruisers IMHO and if you disagree try flying a ferox or a brutix. |

All that speed, yes, you can run away. I suppose I should have been a bit more specific; the hurricane has the best range options of any combat BC.
Against the harb, it can close to 0 km where it has a slight damage advantage and a huge tracking advantage and a neut or sit at 35 km where it has a massive damage advantage; all the harb can do is hope to get a clean shot off as the hurricane pilot sets him up for whatever plan he decides to use to take the harb down.
The drake has far less damage potential than the cane, so closing to 0 and using hail would be the best strategy against the drake.
That being said, all of these things are in the seat of the hurricane pilot which gives him an inherent advantage as he gets to pick his fights.
As for the running away comment, this is the most valuable thing that people often gloss over.
If youre sitting in a hurricane battling any other combat BC, your thought process goes "if he has friends i have to run away"
If youre sitting in any other combat BC battling a hurricane, your thought process goes "if he has friends im going to die"
Ill take a 5% worse ship that can run away if things go sour on me over a 5% better ship that always has to commit to a fight any day. I might not get as many kills, but ill almost never take a loss. |

Two powergrid nerfs and now a high slot is gone? WTH????
I am now wearing a black armband in memory of a ship that was once the ship that the Dread Pirate Roberts would have sailed...
It's been INCONCEIVABLE!!! Can you cry more ? Please ? I'm serious ! So enjoyable ! There are 2 diffrent types of crybabies - one type is right and the others are wrong. Both cry. And i'm afraid not only you cry but also belong to 2nd group. I was hoping for more sever nerfs. But i guess thats better than nothing. Lol.. if you think this is crying your pretty slow. No wonder you only have 51 likes to your name. What I say is a simple statement with some humor to it.. you must not be able to read very well. I am also suggesting to CCP not to nerf what is already good, but to buff the other ships instead to make for some epic battles. It is a legit suggestion. Have you ever heard of power creep? Never nerfing anything but buffing everything else instead is not power creep thats power LEAP
It is far far easier to drop the power of one overpowered ship/module than it is to buff the 5000+ other ships/modules
think about it; if the new harbinger is OP after this patch (not saying it is just using it as an example) than you're suggesting they slightly buff every other ship in Eve in order to reduce the releative effectiveness of the harbinger?
Thats not only ridiculous, but also would lead to several other balance problems for the game designers. |

somehow i think you completely missed the point of my post. Yes currently they're rebalancing all of the ships, but just pretend with me for a moment, use your imagination.
Pretend they get all done with balancing all the ships, and pretend they're all pretty well balanced except for one ship (lets call it the harbinger) which is totally overpowered.
now with your idea of never nerfing anything they would need to go back over every ship and bring it up to the balance level of the harbinger (in this case)
any sane game developer would just nerf the one ship that was causing the problem because thats WAY simpler than buffing all the other ships in relation to it.
And yes i have fit out the harb . . . its a pretty good ship as long as you dont want to go anywhere . . . but if you need mobility that is not the ship for you. |
