Can't the two sides both give their information to a third party, who can then make of it what they will? This will just be an accusing thread. kudos to both sides for sticking it out for 3 days though. .

While it provides the rest of us with amusement, we're not the ones losing ships or with anything at stake. I guess if both sides did want an accurate butcher bill they could agree to a neutral, impartial observer to watch battles and keep track. With an agreement not to shoot the observer on both sides. Though since the battles aren't pre-arranged, it may be tricky to keep an observer nearby to actually watch (assuming they don't shoot themself from boredom waiting on something to happen).
