Good afternoon capsuleers 
There's been a lot going on in New Eden recently. Old ties are being broken, and perhaps new ones will be forged.
New Eden's political landscape is beginning to shift, and chaos is coming with it. CCP Zulu is here to very swiftly provide a few sources of information to recap what's happened so far, and to detail how you can keep up with what's going on.

I hope this chunk of the EO lore won't fall on undecipherable twisties like the Sleepers/Wormhole lore, where dozens and dozens of contradicting, if not straight obscure, hints and clues provided almost no insight about what really happened/happens, while swats of players happily engage in the game, without wasting time on the rich historical background.
One can only hope...

But, assuming these are about live events....
Are the outcomes of these events going to acually permanently affect the landscape for the average pilot?
Are the "stories" set in stone as players as merely observers and no real change can come about or can the players shape events?
Will any but RPers or the folks that grief RPers have reason to be concerned about what the NPCs are up to? |

So without giving away any specifics and just to reiterate what Falcon said; these events and this story is about changing the world. That's a two way relationship as the world impacts the story and the story impacts the world. Someone further up the comments actually linked to a nice little hint dropped by our CMO in an interview recently :) |

Hmm... the summer expansion is breaking the intermediate class ships (Destroyers and Battlecruisers) into racially distinct skills. We see the appearance of Gurista, Sansha, Angel, and Serpentis rookie boats on Singularity...
And the next expansion is about Uprisings... HELLO the Pirate Faction expansion! Do we get pirate faction militias next? |

Even the little things can be fun...I remember when Jamyl Sarum flew to Minmatar space because that preacher guy went there to convert them. Apparently slavery is still a hot-button topic over there. Local chat was a hoot.
I would personally like to see extremely minor tie-ins with the news stories. A few years back there was one about food shortages, but the prices of foodstuffs was unchanged. It would have been nice if NPC corps had buy orders that would drive the sell price of commodities like wheat up. It doesn't take a huge live event to draw pilots into the setting--but they are more fun, I guess.

Still, eve lore is, always has been, and likely always will be completely divoreced from the experience of eve. You couldn't be more incorrect, given the fact that DUST is free to play. There's no need to sell it.
As for the purpose of live events? They're there to help bring New Eden and its backstory to life. While we accept there's some people in game who aren't interested in backstory at all and just want to blow stuff up, in the same respect we'd like to cater to those who actually want to be able to immerse themselves in the game world's history and discover why things are the way they are in game.
We make spaceships for people to fly. We make mission related content for those who want to PVE. We make tools to drive conflict for those who want to destroy and tools that encourage people to build and explore for those who want to manufacture and research. Live events are another facet of EVE, designed for those who want to involved themselves with ongoing storyline.

played dust and the textures look pretty dated :( hopefully some higher res stuff gets worked on as the PS4 nears. Also, long distance shooting just feels inaccurate.
The fittings and structure of the game is great, but the gameplay itself needs moar. I guess thats why its still in beta. |

Looking at those 4 portraits really brings the issue of limited wardrobe to the limelight.
I miss the crazy Gallente options, and the weird Amarr headgear.

Second thing. Minmatars have like one event and amarrians two? The rest of the events is purely Caldari oriented with some gallente flavour. I mean what the hell. Sticking caldari oriented adverts on internet is one thing but focusing ingame oriented events on one race is not ok.

- Set up pure (read: strict) RP channels in the various regions where some high and mighty general or what have you comes in with whatever info there is.
- Send out mails to CEO's in militias and/or to general militia or have same general drop by militia channel (aka. the Cess Pools) with whatever info there is
Note: The 'live play' option will require your most hardened RP'ing reps as the cess pools are ... special places.
- Use RP blogs to 'transmit' relevant info, you have done so successfully so I know you have it in you!
See the common denominator? (hint: RP!)
