Hi,
as well informed sources in [5] have confirmed, the [5] has ordered their junior partner ASCN to start hostilities against the Xetic Federation. Officials of ASCN and Xetic havenŠt said anything about it yet, but to my knowledge the first surprise attacks and kills on Xetic industrial ships by DDC have already taken place. |

half of EVE knows most of us have been itching to shoot at XF (myself as well), and were not ordered just asked if we want to or not.

Just shows what type of people ASCN are. They betray their alliance in the middle of a war, steal half their regions, join with their enemies and then kick their former allies when they're down. Where I come from people like that are called "Scum" or "Trash." Take your pick.

Hmmm let me see if I understand this the biggest PvP alliance in this game (the 5) needs help defeating 4 or 5 industrial corps, and they get this help from the PvPers who betrayed their own alliance? I think we must be doing something right

Well,there's a big misconception here. The guys who are now in ASCN were not the only ones who fought. There are lots of smaller corps that did their part as well and never got mentioned. They are the ones who can rightfully b*tch to ASCN imho.They fought for a bunch of indy driving isk-hoarding people as well,alongside CLS,DDC and other corps.And just when the situation was grinding to a stalemate(while it had started as an utter retreat),through station ping-pong boredom mostly,the ASCN guys decided they'd just up and leave.
I was witness to this,as my previous corp was a xetic member stationed in immensea. Along with Pilots of Honour,what was left of OTE,Cartiff's crew,Black Lance and some other corps (NHS comes to mind,they were only applicants at the time),they tried to put as much effort as possible.At least on the euro timezone where i play,we were always outnumbered,we had our lines of supply cut off and we were mainly fighting a delaying action.
We were told to leave immensea and go to impass,feyth,or ommist,but we decided not to. I'll explain this because people blame us sometimes that we didn't listen to orders.First,our numbers and our firepower was too small to have any real effect in the blob fights between cls/ddc and the coalition.My corp at the time,Maza Solutions,could field no more than 5 BS's with no replacement available. We even blobbed the map with frigates some times to look big and mean,and it worked on numerous occasions,with the enemy fleet stopping instead of steamrolling to take the next station.
Second,if we left immensea,the [5] would come further south and cls/ddc would be hard pressed again,having to fight the coalition AND [5] at the same time. So we stuck up there and harassed them all the time,buying precious time for the guys in the south,with limited supplies and ships,and no isk in the wallet.Hell,we even retook a station and held if for a couple of weeks. Since we didn't have the numbers to win in combat,we decided to win through our determination and the enemy's boredom. And one nice morning,the big boys left us high and dry and left,when it had started looking that somehow we could have pulled it off.Imo,that's what ****ed off most of the people who cared about how the fight was going and were not living in the same regions as the guys who formed ASCN.
When ASCN was formed,we didn't get an invitation,we were just told to merge our corps or be left dying. No flames intended here,just a different viewpoint from the usual "CLS/DDC did all the fighting for you carebears". I just wanted to point out that xetic was not just CLS/DDC on one hand and a bunch of carebears on the other.There were in betweens as well as people who fought tenaciously and their small numbers made it so they could never win alone,yet they pressed on whenever possible to take pressure off of the bigger guys.
As a last reminder,immensea corps had already taken a beating before the invasion of [5],because of the MDP with Stain,which forced us to engage red alliance. These guys were good and i really like the fact we're blue now
Indicative of the fact that we did fight more than we hoarded isk,my wallet was 30 mil before i joined xetic,and rose to an allmighty.....40 mil during my whole tour of duty as a XF pilot(about 4 months if i recall right).
Most of the guys who wanted to continue a PvP lifestyle joined my new corp and with E-R and the Lance we formed the group we now call NBSI.Now you can understand why some of my guys smack so much when there's talk of the [5] and ASCN.They were all part of the smaller PvP corps in XF who got in a war decided by others(the infamous hauler incident between shinra and cls,cyvok's SCA statement),received no reinforcements(at least on my timezone)and got the shaft in a backroom deal,instead of facing an honorable warriors' defeat on the field

My post is with regards to whats left in Xetic.
But, for us, the ones most obviously fighting were these 2 large corps.

I agree on this one. ASCN wants to everyone believe they were the only one fighting to cover up the attrocity of their betrayal. And now they want to fight XF(?). To me it seams that there are very few ppl who want to fight better opponents than they are themselves and those few dont seem to reside in the "famous pvp corps".

From what I can see.. all the NBCI corps also left Xetic and didn't go back to help them. Seems to me that it was as much a betrayal as that you blame ASCN for.

Well... First, many employee's of Celestial Horizon were and had been ready to leave Xetic for a long time. It was Cyvok who urged caution and showed absolute patience in a alliance which even he knew was headed in the wrong direction. Cyvok is the to be commended for keeping Xetic together and from heading toward civil war loooong before the war with the Five and Foundation.
We didnt abandon Xetic, Xetic was already on the verge of Civil War and upheaval because it refused to realize the changing environment of 0.0 which had become more pvp oriented. Many Xetic corps took advantage of The Corporation, DDC, and CLS and other pvping/all around corps while they profited off of us and used us. Where is the betrayal here? Or should i ask, who betrayed who?
These corps where the glue that kept Xetic from becoming the mining *****s of Curse and other alliances and while you were all mining bistot and ark, we were protecting you and for what, so we could be ripped off by our own alliance, given no economic support for military operations until finally we elected a president and vice president to get things done, and Xetic officials just wanted to complain and complian and have 6 hour meetings on a saturday.. omg.... you dont know how boring that was and how small of things were fought over.
