I dont like PvP much, and I try my best to stay out of the line of fire. But its become apparent that the sheer amount of space that is available to me is greatly reduced unless I venture into 0.0.
Theres just 1 problem though. If i want to enter your 0.0 region whats your reaction going to be?
I've ventured into the Greater Wildlands with my alt, who by all acounts is neutral to Everyone, and RA podded her on sight. Their explanation is Neutral = Enemy.
Who else defends their space with such lethal force that neutrals whould be best told to steer clear of? ___________

Every alliance has a NBSI policy. However, you can get around it by negotiating with the people who occupy the space FIRST so taht the owners wont shoot you. however, 0.0 is never 100% safe, so good luck.

Coincidentally the same people complained about people staying in empire and making money off mining and mission running there. Weird huh.

Well not true. We do not shoot Neutrals but still and will make your life a lot easier if you get in contact with us before running around :).

If it's not blue, it's goo.
One thing to remember before condemning such a policy is the fact that every alliance lives under a different set of conditions. What may work in some spaces, may not work in others. It's always best to make contact prior to entry. Every official alliance has contact information available on this site.

The secret isn't to find the alliance won't shoot neutrals. The secret is to find the alliance that isn't paying close enough attention to its borders. ------ I generally assume the following: 1. 95% of Empire Carebears don't get 0.0 PVPers. 2. 95% of 0.0 PVPers don't get Empire Carebears. 3. 100% of Ore Thieves steal just to upset the Miners. |

G alliance doesnt shot neutrals. Its anyways kinda pointless to shot all neutrals. The spying argument has really no ground, its not like it would matter to any alt to be shot down, might need a bit more time to gather infos cause u get killed from time to time but in the end u cant prevent alts to gather infos on you. Overall i think alliances dont act as alliances atm. Werent alliances supposed to be something like "player empires". Atm most of them arent more than just pirates who claim space to say it bluntly. But i dont blame the alliances alone, there must be more features to make it worth for alliances to get "neutrals" into their territory and also give them better options to enforce law in their space, something like an own concord u could pay would help a lot. Hiring NPC's to protect ur space, u could limit it to such an extent that they wont be able to stop enemy invasions but are strong enough to stop a single or a few pirates in ur space. But even with new features, alliances also need to start to act as empires cause what is ur territory worth if the only ppl who live there are ur own, in the end isnt it much more satisfying to know that u own space which is really populated and u have the controll about all those ppl?

If I'd speak for Foundation, i'd say: Shoot everything in a n00b corp or showing red on your overview. And if it is indeed a neutral, scramble and open a convo... If that person is willing to co-operate we'll escort him out.
A guy from our corp had to shoot down an EVE-University-corp guy in a dominix because he didnt answered his convo.
If we've shot ya, it's because you deserved it.

In OUR space (Great Wildlands) all not blue are KOS.
All neutrals can convo us before they enter our space. So we can set positive standings if we work together.

no actualy its the only way for alliances to establish some kind of law in their space cause no matter how big u are u simply dont have the ppl or time to protect the gates of dozens of systems 24/7. Why not use NPC's u could set to shot ppl depending on their standing. This would make alliances and their space a lot more to "mini empires" and give another feel to ur claimed space. Also noone would be forced to use it (lets not forget it would cost money) but alliances which would prefer to have space with some kind of law in it would have a nice option.
The way 0.0 space is handled atm is a bit redicilous. What are all ur 0.0 systems worth if u are the only one populating it. Empires dont conquer and sent the population away, no they keep them ofc and make profit with them and that is where Eve and the alliances fail. There must be a much bigger reward for alliances to establish real empires which means to encourage ppl to live in their space. What happens in the moment is the total opposite of what was/is intended and a real waste. Ppl always say that they are glad that Eve is just one big world but atm we are on the way that 0.0 becomes the "PvP server" and empire the "carebear server". Those groups need to mix a lot more and that doesnt mean even more alts of 0.0 players. I dont suggest to get all newbs into 0.0 space but currently even most experienced industrial corps will never do the step into 0.0 territory cause there is simply no need or no reward for them and neither for the alliances to let em live in their space. PvP in 0.0 is all nice and good but we need more and better reasons to fight over 0.0 space.

The WORST thing you can do is involve CCP in patrolling player claimed space. 1 Screw up with the standings and you end up podding half the people in the region. Heck when even POSes dont work correctly I wouldnt want to screw around with NPC fleets. Back when I was in FOE, we had a alliance member shoot a hostile that was sitting outside our POS and the POS popped him.
After that we'll get people demanding that the NPC fleets defend their space from every single thing that flys near. If someone launches a full blown invasion of their space and the NPCs dont kill them the'll be OMGWTFITSUXSIMQUITTING. Or on the other hand a +10 shoots a hostile in the NPC patrolled zone and then gets ganked by the NPCs. If theres anything to be learned from POSes its that automated defences by CCP 4TL.

on the topic of NPC defence I'm against it. you shouldn't be able to buy your territory. now what would work in my opinion is in systems you have more than 3 POS and claim soveriegnty you could have it where the 3 POS could triangulate the position of anyone in the system within a 30 seconds to a minute. Would stop the problem of pirates safe spoting in your core systems and waiting till you stop camping them, while not hurting major invasions in an significant way

the nbsi policy is basicly because most alliances are to lazy to ask why someone has entered their region... in most cases (i dont say ALL cases) G alliance tries to figure out what are the intetions of visitors. this does not apply for npc corp members if they are flying a rookie ship.

There is so much space open to anyone who wants to ask to use and/or pay a fee.
Eve, as in life, nothig is free. If you are too lazy or prideful to ask, you already failed.
