Strange that the most *****ing customers are always from the US...And not only for Eve.
It was the same when I used to work for HP...The same on other games. The same at my work now.
It seems they always want all&now because what? They paid for it...So money gives them all the rights?
No flamming here...Just my personnal point of view. But think about that next time...It's always the same sentence :
"I got the right as I paid for that", "it's not acceptable"...
Even if I agree the game isn't finished, I prefer wait a little bit to let the devs enought time to work on it and change their mind during holidays...Staying out of the game can only bring new things. They will get back to work with maybe more ideas, but for sure with more willing to finish it as it's "almost" done.

Well, I understand what your saying about us Americans however there are a large amount of us who can "think outside the box"... Most Americans don't know -bleep- about Europe and it's customs. I was at least aware about the vacation/holiday thing and I'm glad they get to take it off. I don't want other people working on "major" stuff that the real Dev's know in-and-out. My thanks to the whole team at CCP.

PS.. Us Americans get screwed when it comes to Holidays.. I believe the U.S. is in LAST place on the list of average vacation days per country.

I can tell you abut holidays here in France...
Minimal holidays you can get is 5 weeks per year if you work full time.
Added to that, 3 weeks of holidays can be added due to a recent law reducing labour time per week.
To make it clear, everybody should work 35 hours/week. As most work for at least 40 hours, you get 5 hours of difference that are added to your holidays.
This was created to "force" employers to get more peoples. In fact, it seldom works 
So we got ~8 weeks of holidays per year, not recoverable in money...

Say no and I'll call you a liar right now... Dev and operations are two different animals and if you are truely a cluster manager then you already KNOW that...
Sybel: Canned, generalized statements about a culture of people, or a nation is ignorance. It makes about as much sense as me saying "All Dutch people wear wooden shoes..." I am an American that certainly recognizes the need for the Dev's to take a vacation... I have read my fair share of Brits, Swedes, Russian(I think he was russian) making posts flaming CCP for vaious and sundry things. So next time try to leave a person's nationality out of the conversation when making blanketed statements please

Xtrem...As I said...That was my personnal opinion.
I didn't want to offend anybody, but that's just that I've noticed that most of impatient ppl or pl *****ing against a service are american.
At least they use agressive sentences.
And I didn't said ONLY, but mostly...
I got ppl of any nationality in my work (I'm an IT too) and I can tell you that french can be as insultant as others...
I just pointed that out because american *****ers usually point out they are american, and proud of it, what I think funny
Anyway...I stop...I do not want to insult anybody or any nation here...
Sorry for who was offended reading my post.
And Pann (or any other) is free to delete my post if he/she thinks I break the rule.

Without bringing nationality wars* into this, it's probably due to more Americans being aware of consumer rights than other nations.
Most countries just don't have enough lawyers to 'educate' us about them 
*I'd lose anyway, my country sucks ass.

Do I take time off yes, but I have someone with the same skill set able to fill in for me. As far as the whole American bashing thing...I'm not going to go there, your French....need I say more?

IÆm not bashing eve or the dev team as a whole, I love the game and the ideas behind it but when issues pop up that **** customers off and truly hinder growth in the game then yes, I'm going to complain. Like I said before, I would pay a good $25.00 US dollars a month for the same game thatÆs described on the EVE box, but this is not it...

BS. Speaking as a North American (Canuck) with family in the States, I can assure you that we in fact have a lot less consumer rights than in Europe. More to the point though, the reason Americans complain about employee rights getting in the way of quality products is that most Americans have fewer rights as employees compared to Europeans. Americans are lucky to get 3 or 4 weeks paid vacation (as are Canadians) while in parts of Europe it's not legal to give your employees less than 4, 5 or 6.
I too am ****ed to hear that devs are on vacation while I am paying for beta-ware, but I'm also jealous, and wish my country made sure I had more time for myself and my family (and, let's be honest, gaming:)

I'm one of the first to complain when something is messed up but I'm not about to complain that they are on vacation. Vacation time is sacred, everyone should have some.
And the whole, "it's my money, fix the bugs now" point. Give it a rest. $12/month. I can work for one hour, just one and make the $12 to play the game for a month.
The bugs are frustrating, yeah but you have to think of the game as an investment. Do you have faith that CCP will get the game going, that it will be fun once the bugs are ironed out? If so, then keep investing your money into CCP. Work your one hour, pay your $12 and have fun the 3-5 nights per week you play the game.

I don't know what Pann is talking about but the baby roid problem has not been fixed. I just checked a belt that was mostly cleared out yesterday (in 1.0 system) and it had a lot of baby roids.

We mined all baby roids of Dark Ochre in a belt and lo and behold! New baby roids popped up every now and then. Not that this would help much - we didn't manage to get a single refine anyways :P

I do believe what alot of people are trying to get across here is this. You can't just get up from a project that is out there in the publics hands and is broken to the point of it not being able to be used. I personally have come to the point of quitting this game because of alot of gameplay items being bugged or broke, therefore forcing me to play the game in ways I didnt want to. For example, I have the problem with agents and VIP missions. I am stuck on an agent I worked long and hard for and even after the patch I am still stuck, btw I filed a petition once also. The lead Dev for agents went on vacation knowing that agents were broke. I don't know if anyone working elsewhere would be allowed to do this, I know I wouldn't. I trully believe that vacations are needed, but if you have projects and items that need to be taken care of, then either take care of them first or hand them off to someone who can work on them while your gone. Plain and Simple!
