Dr Mercy wrote:Why do you not have an 'Embark/Disembark' option so I don't have to undock and redock to change from CQ to Hangerview?
ok so i thought it out and it makes sence why they changed the 50 days to 5 days... pretty much ship spinning is done but the embark/disembark function is still buggy...
So i am hopping that in 46 days the buggs will be fixed and this blue button will be a feature in the winter expansion...

CCP, I've been testing the return of ship spinning on Sisi, and I've discovered a few issues. I'm fairly certain they could be fixed in time for release, and will make a lot of customers very happy. Andreus Anthony LeHane Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor Media Consultant, Voyeur Studios |

The CQ and Hangar are NOT separate by an option menu.
Look at where the mouse is pointing!
Disabling the CQ option disables that button only. |

Katrina Bekers wrote:Quote:- CQ environments will not be loaded at all if you select the hanger view, which means way less RAM use for those starved of RAM as well as less load on your graphics card. So running multiple clients should be more viable again. It means it DOES load right now? I.e., even if you turned off the CQ in the options, upon docking your machine STILL loaded all the 3D meshes, textures, b-splines, shaders, etc.? Just to replace them with The Door(tm) once done??? Words can't describe the amount of fail behind this: load up resources you know you don't use. I'm baffled. Luckily, soon it will be a bad memory of the past. Thank you for fixing this aspect. Not breaking it in first place would have been better. But this is a good second choice.
Correct. "The Door" was a stop-gap measure, probably put together hastily because CCP could not simply "flip a switch" to return to the old ship-spinning engine. Most likely all "The Door" does is stop the rendering from taking place. It doesn't load a new environment to save on coding time so that they could rescue as many GPUs as possible, as quickly as possible. |

well think of it this way...
you are drunk and you m8 is being attacked on the undock...
you click what you think is undock but it starts to snail load CQ... by the time you do undock your bud is dead...
having the transparent button is better as it will make less drunken mistakes... (as its no where close to the undock button) |

dreamsequencer wrote:Imaging having CQ from the start of EVE. Than CCP tells you they're going to get rid of it so now you only can see your ship from the outside and view it from 360-¦. Accepting change is difficult. CQ is great, ship spinning is for people who live in the past.
That is the reality of EVE, a community hostile to change, cheating, exploiting, e-peen stroking. A lot of people were probably most concerned about the fact that could not run 10 accounts with 5 bots and 4 AFK cloaker at the same time.

As much as I approve of the return of Ship Spinning, I also believe that the blue button previously seen on Sisi above the dock button for changing between quarters/ship spinning was the better way to go on account of it always being visible. In the current design with it being beneath your location information it can be covered by open windows making it a little harder to access. I know it's nit picking, but still, It's the little things that make the difference! |

OMG!!! Thank youuuuuu!!!!!
I personally think people will use CQ more now, not less. I know I will. There were times when I wanted to get on CQ but I couldn't be bothered to enable station environment and undock/redock to play with it. I have it disabled because I don't want it to lag me out when I run 3 to 4 clients at the same time out when I'm pvping to lose extra loading time |

Such a simple, elegant solution that keeps as many people as is feasible happy all at the same time, it may be several months late but at least you've finally put right the biggest (easily) fixable screwup of the Incarna trainwreck.
Now the frothy-mouthed haters can ignore Incarna entirely as much as they like, and those of us that might use it occasionally can actually do so without stupid faffing about, thankyou CCP, for the first time in a long time you might actually succeed in releasing something that makes the majority of people if not happy at least slightly less angry |
