One month old character. I'm as happy as I ever could be with everything.
I'm surprised that CCP doesn't have an option to change race, gender and bloodline.
I get that we can't change names for in game reputation security reasons but to not be able to change the rest makes no sense. Money is money and more options is only a good thing.

I can see the backstory allowing for re-sculpting of an avatar(plastic surgery) but how do you account for changing races? Also, why would you want to? There is no advantage to one race or another other than the very minor skills you get to support each races ship and gun types. |

Yeah.. I wouldn't give it two thoughts, unless there were some sort of advantage/disadvantage in game.
I made this character back when I was an innocent newbie thinking that race mattered. I wanted to be part of the organized and militaristic caldari! Hah

What I'd really like is a clarification on whether it's legal to bribe a friend to do character creation on alts. I have serious trouble with the incarna system. |

You're asking the wrong questions. The proper question is "why shouldn't they be able to?"
I can see many reasons. First that people just plain want to which is reason enough. Maybe they bought a character and want to give it a more familiar identity.

Race is trivial in Eve meaning you have no advantage choosing one or the other aside from a little bit of sp. So, there's really no point in machinating over the issue of changing race. Would be a completely different story if there were racial training bonuses. Thank god there aren't any. Though, it would be kind of nifty and sad at the same time.

Why not? Because I thought out making my character when I did, instead of randomly clicking buttons to get through it as quickly as possible. If you are one of the people in the game who later regret it, shame on you for not having foresight. Lesson learned, I hope.
Would I be annoyed if CCP allowed it? Yes. It would make no sense at all. I don't care as much about the small resource allocation, as the fact that it would make no sense at all. You are changing your heritage? Yea, good luck with that.

No not at all.
I chose mine for specific reasons when i created Jint, and to be honest I dont support changing it.
The majority of people who want to are those who, in the early days, min-maxed their chatacter to start with because it was 'the best' and gave the most starting skills/skillpoints..... and those who buy characters.
