eve 2 no doubt will be the eve universe simply expanded simple and complex planteray interactions for example.

Edited by: Thyro on 22/08/2005 11:05:25 if EVE 2 would be a copy of current EVE as it stands today...
Then would be another complete disillusion at all aspects! Like the game currently is!

5ghz, anyone?
Thats old. 7Ghz has already been broken, albeit not stable in windows. 6.5Ghz is the windows stable record.
Yeah but these records mean nothing. The used cooling methods are just for that one suicide run. Even with dual phasechange you wont have a P4 System over 5 ghz for everyday use. In fact phase change and everyday use contradict themselves allready.
Watercooled AMD 64 or Pentium M`s are the best a typical gamer can use. Ofc some would say a Vapochill is best but that`s the headphone gamers.

It had totally never clicked with me that Oveur and TomB and people weren't actually called that in real life o.O

It's totally true. I once considered The Enslavers mum calling upstairs for him to come to dinner: "ENS! DINNERS READY!!!!".
However, as I live with 4 female Russian Escorts, I tend to get called Baby all the time.

Great interview. Just proves that we made the right choice when we picked eve-online over the other wannabee mmorpg's. When the rest are scrapped, this will still be rolling on ;)

I think someone will eventually figure out a way to wire together rat brains for great computing performance. Because there's plenty of rats, they'll be cheap too.
The cool people will have their computers based on mole rat brains, of course.

Screw this electron flow crap, its time to take it to the next level...
Protons and Optical logic gates, thats right, processing capped only by the speed of light itself. Curse you physical limitations of the universe!

Actually you can Make Light Travel Faster. So don't expect the speed of light to be the limit! .. ..

Except that the article is wrong, its not making light travel any faster.
Lets say you had a line of people 5 million kilometers long, and gave them all beepers. The beepers were timed to go off in order, so that they'd all wave in sequence. The wave goes from one end to the other in 1.6 seconds in our case, lets say--does that mean we broke the speed of light? No we didn't.
Phase velocity vs Group velocity. Just because a wave "appears" to be traveling faster than light doesn't mean any light itself is travelling faster than light.
The speed of light is still a hard and fast limit. -- Proud member of the [23].

The speed of light isn't really a limit, more a guideline. It makes assumptions about space-time that don't always hold true. Think of neutrinos. Those little buggers travel at the same speed as light, but they pick shorter routes, beating photons in a straight race. - shortcuts 4tw.
It is already established that entangled particles can interact instantaneously at any distance. The question is, can this be harnessed in a meaningful way?
The absolute speed of information exchange is the important limit to push; the speed of light is just an interesting distraction.

Edited by: Avon on 22/08/2005 15:26:55 Oh, and props to Oveur for mentioning Puzzle Pirates (or whatever it is). My mates wife played that for ages, and she was no gamer before that. I think she now plays, um, Rune Scape(I think that's it).
My point is that cheap and fun mmogs definately help expand the market place, introducing a whole new group of players.
I was wondering if there are any plans to make Eve more like Puzzle Pirates? It looked fun. ______________________________________________

Nathan Richardson - Excellent! However, it didnĘt turn out exactly as we wanted it to (..) We wanted more people in the outer regions, but instead have more people inside Empire."
^,^
A high population in empire since Exodus? Why never!
hehe.. yea, they cant say they wornt told it wouldnt make 00 any better. they are just making the newer players too weak in this game now too get out and play the game. they are just hanging in empire waiting too tuffen up for 00 systems but they got a long wait.
alot of the player base is in my opinon too weak too live in 00 systems these days. it was not like this in the past, there is just too many skills over nothing realy that we didnt realy need in the past. plus there is still not much worth doing in 00 systems aswell. they also didnt deal too much on the hiways and choke points leading into 00 systems aswell as they should have. more stations/agents are still needed in 00 space.
