as i work most weekends, i haven't been watching, but based on the scoreline alone, i'm still going for a draw due to weather. -----------

Oz need 179 from the remaining 5 wickets to avoid the follow on.....
I don't think we're gooing to see a draw. There's too much time left.

if that forcast holds up there will be a result and with the cloud Hoggard and Jones should have a field day, lets hope its Englands.
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |

Edit: England enforce the follow-on. The first time Australia have followed on in 18 years apparently.

Lol Superb,
Field substitute Pratt has run out Ricky Ponting. Aimed a throw at the stumps.
Pratt is one of the famous Pratt brothers. Famous for not changing their names by deed-poll upon reaching the age of 18 .

Big storm in a tea-cup tommorrow. Ponting was none too pleased with Englands' use of the substitute fielder - he was effing and blinding at the England balcony and fielders as he walked off the park. I sense sour grapes - but I'm sure the match referee will have something to say about it after close of play.
They don't like it up 'em!

He doesn't have a leg to stand on, like Simon Jones who is currently in hospital having a scan on his ankle. England would not leave off their star performing bowler from the first innings for a sub fielder. Whinging Ponts.

"We don't like cricket,....We love it"
(Sorry, had to be done).
224-4 close They'll get a hundred or so lead which we'll knock off on Sunday afternoon/evening, it'll be great watching, especially because it'll be on at Carnival everywhere I bet.
Oops - have I jinxed it now?
Oh and the draw is 5/1 against if you're interested, England 2/5-ish, Aus a not very tempting 7/1.

Well I agree. If we really wanted to "cheat", we would have Collingwood as 12th man not a Pratt!

He's already apologised anyway .. he knows he was out of order. He was just ticked off, and took it out on the England pavilion.
There is a fundamental disagreement on how this "12th man" thing should work though. In Oz, you select a squad of 12, and the guy who doesn't make the team of 11, is the substitute fielder. We don't do it that way, we ask whichever county isn't playing this week, to send the best fielder they have. It must be within the rules, or we wouldn't be allowed to do that - but the Aussies don't do it that way and don't really think it SHOULD be allowed, which is what ticked him off. He knows perfectly well he shouldn't have gone off the handle, though. __________________________________________ I tried strip mining, but I lost; and it's cold flying around in space naked. |

Absolutely. It's similar to Rugby Union where the two hemispheres have totally different interpretations of the driving maul and crossing.

I like Cricket. Especially the part where those naked people run across the playfield. A tradition that could save Snooker too.

I have to say, hats off to the Australians. They've been splattered all over the field for the last three tests, and they damn near won two of them, and forced a draw in the third.
Just goes to show why they are the world champions. You can beat them hollow in 14 out of 15 sessions of a Test match, and still lose the game.
A major achievement for England - we cannot lose this Ashes series. That's already our best result for 18 years. Now to the Oval, to finish the job and bring the little urn back to Lord's from - errr, Lord's, because the MCC won't allow it to be moved __________________________________________ I tried strip mining, but I lost; and it's cold flying around in space naked. |

Don't worry, I've hired out a load planes to do some cloud seeding over the Oval for the next 10 days.
But really, It always rains in September...
