The character with the name MMBMA and MMBMA1 is a scammer. He has an elaborate scam with e-mail confirmations on battleship BP copy purchases. He makes things look very legit so beware. MMBMA scammed some of my corp members for 110 million.
MMBMA is or was a member of NEMA, New Eden Merchants Association. Their CEO is Noxis Moda or Baud Moda. MMBMA is not currently a member of NEMA anymore and the CEO claims he had no idea of the deal.
I would like some explanation from their part as far as who MMBMA was and what can be done to recover the losses. MMBMA used NEMA in outside e-mails and in logged ingame chats so at the moment I hold them reponsible. The scamming in EVE is rampant right now. Perhaps this character abused and used this corp for his scheme but it could also be that it was all a setup from the start.
People should stay away from anyone trying to do joint ventures to buy BP's unless they are extremely reputable corps with proven reliability.

*update* MMBMA has joined a new corporation called All For One. Looks like this guy is joining different corps and using their name for this scheme. I warn the CEO of this corporation that he has a thief in their group.

You are absolutely right. Scams work on impatient people who can't read the other persons intentions. It was sad that I wasn't present during the deal. I heard about the deal last night and my alarms sounded off. It wasn't untill today when my members who did the deal confirmed it was a scam. Unfortunately I was right.
The funny thing is this guy went through the trouble of making everything look legit. He sent confirmation of purchase vie e-mail outside of the game as well.
This is a lesson for the members involved in the deal. If it's too good to be true most likely it is a scam. Let this error be a warning for other people.

It is very unfortunate that CCP has no policy against this type of behavior. Other games have very strict rules against scamming. This form of scamming can deeply hurt a group of players or corporation since it involves large sums of money.
Even with the fact we have chat logs and outside e-mail confirmation there is nothing we can do to recover our money.
CCP has the method of tracking all transactions and it's sad they won't use that information to punish this type of scamming.

I'm not placing blame on CCP nor do I expect them to rectify the situation. I just expressed my feelings on the *unfortunate* fact that CCP does not have a policy against this behavior and the fact they do have the tools to track it and punish the people involved.
Infact, this has already happened to many people and CCP has already stated that unless the scam was using an exploit they won't get involved.

First Miso, I'm not asking for sympathy, second my post was not meant so I can get replys on how negative behavior is good for the game, I already understand that and I'm a big supporter of PVP and consequential situations in the EVE economy.
I'm merely warning other people from this individual and also commenting on the unfortunate situation.
If you or a friend got scammed royally I'm sure you would be upset about it. I don't think you would throw your arms up and say "oh well that's part of the game so what can I do"
There is nothing anyone can do. Declaring war, placing a bounty, or killing the guy over and over won't solve anything and won't get the money back. Once the cash is gone, it's gone.

That is an interesting possibility.
So here we could have the CEO of a corp involved in covert activities. Infiltrating other corps and using their names to pull off the scheme, starting with his own.
Woops, it was Noxis Moda, I misspelled it. SO that becomes an impossibility. Nice catch anyway :)

Verisutha, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I was not the one who handed the money or was present during the transaction. This deal was made by other corp members while I was out. As soon as I arrived and was told the story of the deal my alarm sounded off right away. I informed my corporation that this deal was a complete scam but they thought otherwise. The scam was not confirmed until the next day and sadly I was the one who was right.
Again, this is a lesson for my corp members involved.
#1 Never get involved in joint BP purchases from the trade channel.
#2 Never make major business deals with people other than the CEO of the corp.
#3 Never make any major business deals with corps that are not reputable and that have not proven themselves to deliver (Playboy)
#4 Never make major business with corporations that don't go public with their propositions in a formal written manner but before that you need to look at #3.
#5 This should be #1 never trust anyone from the start.
#6 If all things are clean are you decided to do business, hear their story, let the person talk about their plans, ask questions and ask the tough questions, pick at the details and ask why. This is a good way to get to the bottom of things and find hints of a possible scam.
#7 After hearing the story look for discrepancies and question things that don't make sense. Usually if this is the case, most likely it is already a scam.
#8 Obtain collateral unless this corp is reputable and is known to deliver.
#9 Ask questions about the other parties involved. Ask for references. Talk to them as well and confirm the deal. Make sure the references are good too. Could be an elaborate setup.
#10 Practice patience, don't jump the gun on the first good deals you see out there. If it's too good to be true it probably isn't.
#11 Major deals should involve all members of your corporation and be fully discussed by all.
Well just a few pointers, if you care to add please do.

I'm sorry but since when is this post about CCP doing anything? Does the topic even refer to that? I agree with you, the problem is biomass but I think it's also reading comprehension.
And yes, life is tough some people get better biomass than others. Get over it.

Singular, you must be padding yourself in the back for that one. I'm glad this makes you feel good about yourself since i'm sure you rarely make such observations. If you read this whole post carefully like you did my signature, you will find out that *I* didn't get ripped off, my corp members did. Since I am in the corp, this is an issue that affects me as well since we lost a huge portion of our cash flow.

Thanks for the reply Yemen, that issue has been cleared with Noxis Moda on another board.
However MMBMA continues to join different corporations and I hope this post serves as a warning to all those CEO's and people out there planning on dealing with this guy.

Ctaesis, that's interesting you mention that.
He did tell the corp members that got ripped off that his roommate was quitting EVE and he wanted to sell his account on EBAY. His roommate had also acquired a battleship BP and MMBMA wanted to buy it from his RL friend by putting together the cash from a joint venture.
He mentioned how his friend was going to use the ISKS from the BS BP to sell it on EBAY.
So it is possible that he is going around scamming people and selling all the ISKS on EBAY for some serious cash.
