Edited by: slothe on 28/08/2005 19:00:38 Simple really..
A lot of people threaten to wreak revenge on a pirate / pirates that kill them.
But.....does it ever really happen or are they idle threats?
Has anyone shown sufficient patience, training (and perhaps sinister psychotic stalking qualities) to exact revenge on their nemesis?
If you have post your story here...

People that pirated me? No, never really been pirated.
Got revenge for allies a lot who are not into PvP though, i find the majority just run away and hide though (not complaining piracy is about easy kills/randoming for isk really, just figured i better add this in to stop any flames heh), unfortunatly for me its too easy to avoid somebody if you know they are after you =(
But yea, i have also got revenge on a fair few pirates i do believe that most threats however are just idle threats usually from people that are really annoyed, the best way to get revenge is to not tell the person you are hunting you are hunting them, it makes life so much easier ------------------------------------------------- Defend Amarr space, join the Auctoritan Syndicate today |

This is a post by an alt. Characters' names are not important here.
Not too long ago, three members of S******dly entered the system me and a corpmate were in. We were not on our toes and were found by the S******dly's. A ship was lost and ransom had to be payed for not being podded.
We got our rat hunting ships that were not setup for PvP and went out after the terribly evil pirates that wrecked a ship. Drones were flying, beams were beaming, shots were fired and damage was done. Due to the types of ships involved, setups and PvP experience (or lack of ), it was a pretty even fight. However, we were not able to match the skills and performance of our red flashing opponents to the fullest. We succeeded in damage one ship enough for the pilot having to warp away, but not too long after that I had to warp away too.
After repairing and refitting the hunted became the hunters. We wanted to give these guys a fight for their own lives. We searched the system and after a while we found one of them. Realizing he couldn't face us alone he warped away, to our big disappointment of course. We continued to search a little while but then the icons from Local disappeared.
If our ships had been setup the way they are today, we would probably have been able to get our revenge and cash in some bounty. Oh well, maybe some other time.
This was a short encounter with only 5 ships envolved, but nevertheless it made our day. Hats off for the S******dly members who taught us a lesson or two and gave us the chance to fight back. There were no hard feelings, no harsh words were said, no name calling or cussing in Local as far as the eye could see. Do I need to say that we were on our toes for the rest of that day?

Liga Frier Terrana tried to, they said they would then camped us into the station with 30 people back when we were a 2 man crew in aurohunen, they jetted a load of cans outside the station and i spent 2 days selling and trading loot, they thought they had won and were infact keeping me there. One night I fanceyed hunting so i undocked in my tripple mwd dom and zoomed right past them
But thats one threat out of hundereds, ive lost plenty of ships but i dont think those people hunted me down to fullfil a threat and if they did I really wouldnt know

The Lost Boys killed my thorax when I was a few weeks old testing a rail setup in aunenen and a few months later I was sitting semi afk at the nonni gate in aunenen when a The Lost Boys hauler warped in a 15. I recognized the name, grinned and shot it down finding out that like 35k zyd blew up with the poor bastard. He just warped away and I never heard a single word about it. Somehow I don't think he was very smart because half the modules on his hauler had "basic" in their name. --------------------------------------

I got ganked when I was just a n00b, but I didn't complain about it (except to my noobie corp mates), I just quietly got on with my game. Nevertheless, I was seething with anger, determined to get back at this person who would kill my griffin with his scorp at a low sec gate.
Luckily I got the opportunity to join Snigg, train up in pvp and pirate tactics, and learn how to best take down that person who had slighted me in the past. I doubt he even remembers my name, as I don't remember the name of those n00bs that I kill. But I will kill him once I have the chance. And that is a promise.... -

A long time ago I had a run-in with a smart-bombing Pyr8... I was in a frig and wasn't watching, lost my first clone and implants. A few days later I logged on and was presented with the corpse of said Pyr8.
its good to have friends.

Yes.
It would have been maybe 5 or 6 months following the original incident, though while I always had it in the back of my mind, I wasn't specifically hunting for him at the time revenge was exacted.

Never have I encountered "my comeuppance" or the other various terms its been called.
However, funny story. While pirating in the Bleak Lands with two corpmates (we had two zealots and a vagabond), we came across several cruisers and a Ferox in a belt, with an Iteron in tow. Thinking this was a mining party, we scrambled the Iteron, Ferox, and another cruiser - then destroyed the rest. Ferox warped out with stabs, and the rest of the cruisers decided to go down fighting (props to them).
While we chained the belts waiting for our flags to wear off, a Raven from the miner corp's alliance (Eve Federation Alliance) and the Ferox came into local and sat on the gate to Gratesier. They talked some smack as we left system and followed us in to Gratestier. I challenged the Raven to a 1v1, and told him to meet me at the first belt in system.
Now, I had planned to take this fight fairly because I wasbored and needed a challenge. However, while in-warp to the belt, this Raven pilot said "I don't fight fair", came out of warp with the Ferox and a Rupture, and they all began to fire on me. At this point, I was 50km from them so they couldn't really do any damage, but since he didn't want to follow the rules of a 1v1 I told my corpmates to open up and about a minute later the Raven, Ferox, and Rupture were all dead.
A hint for all you victims out there looking for retribution, please think ahead first.

Well, so far only Barock and Lyticus are on my 'I want to blow up list' because they blew up my very first ship that I loved dearly. Other than that, no, I've killed everyone I've wanted to so far.

I've never been pirated..........but I have gotten sweet revenge for corp m8s who have been.
Once upon a time right after the release of exodus, and after receiving a thorough pasting in 0.0 i was escorting a corp m8s pod through low sec empire in my punisher of doom. One of the pirates who had killed us in 0.0 followed in his mega and proceeded to pop my corp m8s pod. I then scrambled his mega with my punisher and tanked his drones while the 2 sentry guns and my 3 dual light pulse slowly chewed through his mega.
Then i followed his pod, docked, got a suicide kestrel, and managed to pop his pod at a gate for his 40 mill bounty.

Must admit I get revenge against pirates in general although there are a couple of names I keep that make me smile with psychotic delight when they log on that I want to take the time to hunt down when I can be bothered.

Sort of different from the above stories but..
I was heading back from aridia on a rat hunting trip when I was real noob and had done Zero pvp.
Joined up with my corp m8's that had a mining op in low sec space going (Indregulle system sp?). We had 2 apocs mining, 1 mega running protection and me in my mega with half miners half guns, because I didnt have any CPU's to fit the lot.
Tenacha Khan warped to our belt flashing red and looking mean in his Thorax, and we engage him, its a pretty good fight from what I remember and Tenacha warps out in strucutre.
Showing just how leet we are we begin to smack him in local failing to notice that he just engaged 4 bs in his Rax.
To this day I wonder if I have the balls to do that, and you know I am nnot sure if I would.
Thorax FTW! |
