I have only been pirated once so far, when I was a month old noob. Was during a noob corp low sec mining op.
Can't even remember the names of the guys who attacked us

I've (well, my corpmate while I was there) only been a victim of piracy once. I had only been playing for a few months at the time. Our corp went on an all day mining trip to Yehaba. After a few hours, pirates jumped in and caught our Raven who was doing defense. (My thorax had got caught on a roid and took ages to get out...) He paid the ransom and they went on their merry way.
Can't even remember what corp it was that did it (so can't seek revenge on those guys specifically), I do remember being so scared that I was afraid to even undock afterwards....
These days, I engage any -5 (or worse) pirates as targets of opportunity. Basically because I realise that I may get caught out at sometime and it'd be good to get my retaliation in first! I've been involved in catching out quite a few of the local ones round the Aunenen, Passari, Mara area in the last while.

There was this one time... at badger camp... You know the rest...
Also a nice group of pirates who pirated us when I was a n0ob took a little beating when I paid them a visit.

Problem is the only peaple i've been killed by are good players (waywatcher + TankCEO) so I doubt i'll ever get a chance to get back at them

I've encountered your "Raven Killer" Apoc setup before. I won that encounter against you. Was one of the best fights I ever had in Eve as you had sucked all my cap and had got me halfway through structure when you popped.
I'm no longer really pirating as such. But I wish there were more serious "anti pirates" in the game like Reash. I mean people that actually sit in belts or in low sec in general in ships setup to fight.

You can better spend your time hunting for pirates themselves in different systems than sitting in a belt waiting for bad guys to come.

Actually if a given group of pirates are "Feeding off the locals" to a great degree, or let's say having a field day in a certain number of systems close to each other, "pirate traps" are great ways to snare them.
Same thing with complexes. I used to sit in complexes cloaked and gank people. How would an antipirate counter that? Just sit there cloaked and wait for me.

popped the pirate that i lost my first ship to so i guess i got my revenge on a pirate but i would have attacked regardless of who he was oh and i never threaten ppl it was more or less coincidence just saw him in system he was -9.7

Yeah, and they were pretty nasty too. Some people I pirated before told me they'd get me. Some time later they pretended to have a mining operation in progress but in fact it was a big fat trap to catch DoctorDanny. I'm shamed to admit that it succeeded. Not only did it cost me my Scorpion, but these people (who shall remain nameless) now also have a DoctorDanny's corpse in their posession  .

Yes, Voltex tried to pirate my crow in Passari in his Scorpion. I scrambled him with a +2 and let the sentries handle the rest of him. He logged.
Some KR0M guy pirated a corp mate. We busted his safespot and happily took the sec hit for his kill. He also logged.

When I was a sweet nublet in a merlin I met the Jokers, they didn't catch me but I joined a rival piracy corporation after that and went looking for them a few times when we heard they were around.
If you cant beat them, join them ( or their enemies)

gingermagician ganked my first kessy- i've never seen him since, try as i might
however, MAFIA corp tried to take out one of my ravens at a gate camp in kubinen
4 of them in battleships warping in and out to avoid the gate sentry guns - i was in a mission setup ship
i just cruised calmly back to the gate at 120m/s and jumped out, while they desperatley tried to break my tank without getting ganked by the sentries 
if i'd had just ONE 20km warp scrammer, i woulda taken down at least one of them before i jumped (with the help of the sentries  ) if they weren't using WCS, which i guess they were
i went back with a few mates (eight i think) and searched out kubinen for them
they all logged. cheap lazy unfair bastards.
so we did it again the next night. they logged again. same the next day
on the 4th day, they all moved out of kubinen. never seen any of them since.
so, i guess i never really got revenge; i never got them, but they never killed me. still, we drove them out, and that area has been much safer since - i think thats worth it

accually once a coupple of carebears tryed to make a threat real, the chased me with a 8 ship fleet for about 6h, I was sitting in my megathron atm and it was a bugger.
This is nothing unusuall persee, but the fact that this accoured 6 months after i killed one of them and he sent me killmails and and the first thing i see in local when i meet them is the guy sayin, "now your gonna pay".
The sad thin is that i didnt have to pay, but still.
it was fun.

Once upon a time, when i was playin with my old main, back when he was n00b, a corp declared war on ours. We were utterly demolished. The corp ended up in tatters. The CEO was left with no cash, after sacfrificing it to end the war, and a 3 member corp, of which i was one members. Now i only remember one name from that issues. To this day i hold the grudge, always there in the back of my mind. One day, i'll find him, i promised myself this when he blew my ship. Unfortunately however, i seem to be seeing and awful lot of this name atm. This person sound like you? It could be. One day i'll catch up with ya.

Typically not, since the few that have returned to exact revenge upon us typically bring a blob that would choke an elephant. So they don't get the fight they were looking for, they normally just get to beat their chests in local for a while which I think is enough for them to be content.
