Edited by: Brian Royer on 03/09/2005 06:07:00 Edited by: Brian Royer on 03/09/2005 05:51:45 So here I am, after six months off of EVE wondering what I should do. Everything was almost overwhelming as it all came back to me. I'm sitting in station in the Curse region, as I prepare for the long journey back to empire. The road seems clear at first, maybe a few snags here and there as I journey in my Amarrian shuttle. For the most part I just want to get familiar with the game mechanics again. "This is it." I think to myself as I buy my new Raven, it's been so long. After initially flying around and buying parts I have decided to go and try my luck at a level 4 mission. I had been quite the agent runner before joining curse and eventually resigning from Hydr4 and EVE. Some hesitation as I hit "accept" ran through my head. Taken aback as I remembered how deadly I was with a Raven; those thoughts quickly escaped from my head. Deadspace; wonderful... I was not sure what to expect warping into an acceleration gate. Activating the gate, I waited for what seemed like an eternity to warp. Blinking, I was locked down by some 12 frigates and cruisers. "Ok, easy enough..," I thought to myself as I locked the first cruiser. My Torpedo soared right into the nose of the NPC Cruiser knocking down a small percentage of his shields... "119 Damage?!" thinking to myself as another wave of torps barely scratched this cruiser. Must be a bug; too late to turn back now. Eventually I took out some 3 or 4 cruisers... now for those annoying frigates. Locked one, two, and three... "F1, F2 ...ö! Instant damage and a message popped up "Your Juggernaut Torpedo I strikes @#(* inflicting 19.7 damage." I couldn't believe what I was seeing; these frigates were going to take out my raven as I couldn't do enough damage. No one in local... no friends online. It was 1am... too far from downtime to monitor my shields and stay awake for another 5 hours. I had given up all hope as I walked away from my computer in complete hopelessness as an hour had already passed. "Welcome back to EVE," I thought to myself as I distinctly remembered talk of a missile overhaul before I left. GG CCP , You got me good.
Currently in a Ferox, doing level 3 agent missions trying to build up enough ISK to get back in a Raven. Looking for a PvP, PvE and agent oriented corp.

The raven is no longer an "I win" button.
The above statement pretty much sums it up.
Welcome back though. Hope you find a good corp and recoup your loss soon.

I'm also tinkering with the idea of using my 29mil isk left over after losing my battleship and buying a ferox to post a buy order on isogen and keep reselling it. Not sure how to play the market though atm.

And the moral of the stroy is, if you quit the game for any amount of time, when you come back, read the patch notes!

Well Brian Royer, it is very cool that you did not get upset in the forums here, you are mature, thanks.
I just got here in the game 2 weeks ago, so I can not tell if anything is wrong with any missiles, but it seems the light missiles work pretty well for what they are used for.
Is it just the heavy missiles that are strange like that?

Missile changes in a nutshell, you need to train more skills to get the old amount of damage ( especially considering smaller targets)

wrong, there is no way in hell to hit a target without 400m sig radius for the "old" missile damage, train all the skills to lvl 5 it still wont happen, see "We want our missile damage" thread in game development forum. --------------------------

A torpedo hits a frigate for 32 damage.
That is 32 damage more than my megabeams.

I only wanted to share my experiences with the others on this forum. Did not mean to start an argument about missile damage. My apologies, I found a very kind agent/pve/pvp corp in 0.0 who took me in. Thank you everyone for listening.

there are a lot of raw wounds over that missile nerf - only now are their damages coming back up with skill training. That said implants are now all that agents give via LP offers - all others esp speicalised connection skills have been nerfed
