nothing wrong with players from any country IMO - i think the problems mentioned in this thread should be addressed to the developing world. SOme make a living off things against the EULA and when found out they are batted out of existance

I am European but having played in an Asian guild in Everquest (mostly Hong Kong players) for along time I can inform you that your lack of knowledge and xenophobic sterotyping just shows your ignorance. These guys know their stuff and will most probably kick your butts all over the galaxy. I would welcome playing alongside talented and respectful players - something that seems to be sadly lacking in this community. As for "Chinese farmers" - do your research, most of these companies are American, exploiting cheap labour markets and creaming in profits for themselves

The major problem will be the language barrier. hundreds of players unable to tap into the rich community will definate create their own paralell game, and ultimately ruin the experience for all.

Having played some games with players from American and Asian servers, I believe that this should not be our primary concern. If Asian players begin to pour into Eve, they will be at a severe disadvantage due to their lack of SP and experience.
They surely will kick ass nonetheless, but it will be balanced to some degree.
What is more important to me is that right now, Eve is a big community, based on one common language, English. While we have some excetions, the absolute majority of players can communicate in it and contribute to this feeling.
Now, in all the games I played with Asian players, only a small minority really mastered English in a way that allowed for a fluent communication. Instead, they formed an own "parallel society", essentially dividing the game into two parts.
Two servers would be the best thing. IMO, 15-20000 players are enough already. It's the right balance between "playing in a huge game" and "being able to become a significant part of it".

100% agreed. By the way, the Chinese ruined Lineage 2. That's not a racial slur, it's a FACT. I don't want to see the same thing happen to Eve... the player base is growing fast enough already.

Just more ignorant stereotyping.
If there wasn't a market for virtual items and cash there would be no farmers. The buyers of these items and cash are mostly Westerners, the companies behind these operations are mostly Western. Chicken and egg scernario. Since the buyers and operators of these companies are BOTH western then it's just as easy to deduce that Westerners perpetuate the corruption of online economies more so than the Chinese.
So using your blatant generalisations - Westerners ruined Lineage II, ironically a game operated by an Asian company - NC Japan.

I believe this game is very anti-grinding in many ways. The more serious attitude many asian gamers have will give them an advantage over casual gamers, but the same is true currently with non asian gamers.
In all i believe a massive influx of new asian gamers will benifit eve greatly. We NEED those roids in hi-sec empire to be sparse to make lowsec more popular, we NEED mineral prices to drop
In all, it will be good.If it doesnt i have faith that CCP will tweak things to conterbalance this.
In short, is all good

Whatever CCP decide to do regarding the Asian market will undoubtedly be revealed closer to the time.
However, until that time comes discussion of racial stereotypes is not allowed on these forums and as such I am going to lock this thread. ---

Thats too easy. First of all, the demand to buy ingame items is always there - if prices are sufficiently low, and rewards sufficiently high, a really large part of the player base would buy items for real money. Just put a faction BS on ebay for 1$, and itll be gone in no time. I agree that this is a bad thing, but nonetheless this behaviour is deeply rooted in human nature. However, this is not a uniquely Western trait, you have item selling in Asia to exactly the same extent. What is unique to Asia, however, is the abundance of people who are willing to work at a wage that low that hardly anybody in the Western world would consider it. The point is: the demand to buy at low prices is always there; right now it is not met by a supply at these prices. This will change if Eve is opened up to China. And regarding the Lineage II example, Azuriel is absolutely correct in asserting that Asians ruined it.
The demand to buy ingame items is always there, there is no way to filter out players who want to buy items at low prices. But there is a way to filter out people who want to supply items at low prices, i.e. not opening the game up to Asians.

lol spill your hippie rethoric elsewhere. While all people have the same "value", they certainly do not have the same behaviour. To deny the existence of cultural differences is not progressive, its moronic
