Great post YARRRR!!

Small addition, if I may?

If your victim claims to not have any money to pay for the ship's ransom, remember he/she will collect insurance money (at least the default amount) when the ship pops. Which, of cOArse, you shall ask for once you have the pod pinned down. Wink

Sorry to respond to a troll, but at current odds you're more likely to find 3 million zydrine being hauled in an iteron mkV with local hulls than to get a T2 BPO from a level 1 agent Laughing

well im sure if verone tries harder he will also manage to get the hauler thing u mentioned Laughing

Well, pirating is not a steady source of income so you will need other ways to make isk as a complement. It's really easy to earn those extra bucks...

1. Make a new character (alt)

2. Train it to use industrial ship, cargo expanders and mining laser (only take a few days, max)

3. Put it in empire, start mining before you go away from keyboard, or before you go to sleep.

If you fill the cargohold up a few times per day, you will get a nice amount of minerals in the end. I did this before i got rich. It's easy but not many fellow pirates have discovered this way of making additional money.

hmm, i have an alt that flies an iteron V.
so how much iskies could a full cargo hold of scord get me these days?

How about orethiefing? It seems to be an alright income for a starting character. Maybe not for a starting pirate after a year+ of skill training.

Stealing ore is for most ore thieves more for **** and giggles then actual income. And many l33t pirates consider themselves too good for it.

Anyway for beginning pirates it's a great way to get money, since one full haul is usually good for anything between 500k and 1M isk (and you'll get to practice your scanning skills).

And when you are still in frigates or just stepped into cruisers, in combination with insurance and cheap T1 mods it's more then enough to keep you going when business is bad.

One problem though:

For oretheft you'd need to be able to get into high sec systems which could be a bit problematic if you *****too many low sec miners (who IMHO aren't worth the sec loss) or belt farmers/complex runners.

Another reason why for chars with low SP empire warring is so much more a viable option then 0.4 piracy.

Well, it's harsh to try to live on piracy as a single income, unless you get lucky and get some good drops.

Not much of a pointer, but try not to get blown up by picking your own fight.

That's my two cents.
