Umm. I can only assume that TTI "fighters" really don't have the first clue about what they're doing here. Despite Shintai virtually telling you why you couldn't take his shields down with lasers (hint - ever heard of a ward? ) you still don't get it. Then you go use splash damage weapons in a Concord controlled area and get blown to pieces
Can we all say "Learning curve"?
NB - I have no affiliation with either side, I just find this damn funny

Edited by: Mark A on 27/07/2003 23:29:27 There were a variety of weapons employed. The real issue is that Shintai just sat outside the station and docked every time his shields got low. Guess he's a new breed of "afk combat pilot".
Since you'll have a hard time killing a frigate that's using this sort of tactic, there was little we could do to a megathron if he wasn't prepared to come out and fight.
Anyway, if Shintai does find his stones someday and ventures more than 15km from a station, we'll be only to happy to come help him join his friend Femme Fatality in our meat locker...
l8r.
*edit* BTW I think the cap-transfer thing is a bit of a red-herring. TTI aren't "lying", but its possible Shintai was using an ECCM or something which has a similar graphics effect. ____________________________________

"The real issue is that Shintai just sat outside the station and docked every time his shields got low."
... ram him out of the range with MWD-equipped ship or two, then pin down with good webifier(s) so he doesn't get within the docking range again?..
.o( no idea if it'd work, actually; for one thing it seems so obvious it most likely wouldn't... :s )

Yeah, we tried to ram him, but didn't work as he was too close to the station, but as always he could insta-dock easily if threatened in any way, including starting to be pushed out of docking radius.
I guess if the members of Going Limp Inc. want to hang out in a station and only come out to make snipe attacks in a megathron against indys mining for trit, then fine, just don't pretend its big or clever.
BTW in the interests of fairness I'd point out that the missile splash damage thing was indeed a f**k up on our part, but guess that's what comes of not hanging out in these noob systems for so long.
If someone does want to fight TTI for kudos then I suggest we do it up in M-OENA, no stations, no cops, no momma to cry to. Not sure if GLI's paymasters would like that one though, although I guess they'll have to show some TTI losses at some point...

Edited by: ImEasy on 28/07/2003 00:25:51 Well har har on this thread.
I was one of the Bestowers outside the station watching, in the end, a rather boring battle. The 3 Bestowers watching are all mining in that area and we went to see what we thought would be a blast. As this is a new character and is only trained to use an indi ship: gunnery level 2, frigate 4, engineering 2, electronic 1, spaceship command 3 I DONT have the skills to transfer energy. What about the newbie there "MrWizzard"...gonna accuse him too? I was even accused of trying to "disrespect" TTI by stealing loot (as no ship was blown that was a hard one to do) I was rammed twice to try to remove me from the scene and even told to dock once...but as i didnt want to miss any podding I stayed...now unless theres a law stating that i cant sit and watch the battle going on right outside a station, im going to do it again.
I have no feelings either way for either corp..i just wanted to see some action that i would never take part in myself...im too pretty to be a fighter and i just love the carebears! So Roark...get over this. We dont all love (or hate) you and your corp..we just wanted to see the action.

Edited by: Mark A on 28/07/2003 01:21:55 It seems likely now, IMHO, that other modules Shintai was activating were mistaken for cap transfers. I guess this was further exacerbated by the sheer unlikelyness of random indy pilots hanging about so close to a ship under attack.
Note that by doing so you've now been BM'd and marked for KOS, so that was a rather dumb thing to do really. I'll try and straighten things out, but next time stay out of the way (>100km is fine) if you don't want to be seen as current or future targets.
Y'know, I'd always wondered who were those people in RL who stand by the side of the road during rally driving events, guess I know now...
*edit* Of course if there is a next time, you won't be given the benefit of the doubt again. ____________________________________
