Miilla wrote:Yes I am safe, how are you going to gank a tengu? You cannot initiate a fight without using other mechanics to "bounty hunt" me in that.
I feel very safe in empire with a bounty. I have news for you, sitting oblivious in empire in a Tengu (likely full of juicy expensive mods) with a large bounty on your head would make you a very likely candidate for a gank. There are a lot of disgruntled mission runners that will be happy to substantiate that, and most of them got ganked without the added incentive of a bounty. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

You should have seen him during the Summer of Rage, he was in rare form. In fact he is probably one of the major contributing factors as to why things got so out of control... which I'm sure he views as quite a feather in his cap. The whole "Answer the Big Yellow Question" thing was started solely by him.

I'm a huge fan of outrage. It lowers the overall IQ of the outraged as a group and makes it easier to manipulate them. Malcanis for CSM 8

They keep talking about themed patches, well how about actually having a playable theme?
Team little things, is a very apt name.
They should follow my advice and implement it so that you always lose SP upon a pod death. That way killing a pod actually means something, and bounties can be simply linked to pod kills. |

I dont think that even going bounty hunting killing an tengu will worth the try, even in null sec or whatever. Just saw some calculations that give for 1B killing, you get only 18M of bounty, and I am not calculating here : - The % for your coorp. - The loot. - Insurance. If anyone have any sample where an bounty hunter get profit doing this, I will be glad to know. For me, buy my understand, the bounty system is completly broken. Bisides of that, it should be allowed to put bounty only for negative status like before, just hear histories of peaple trying to do good and get bounty for this, example, an friend that try to hunt bots get an unbelivable ammount of bounty from the bot owners... They should just turn the bounty system off... My opinion, sorry. |

Lol yeah because that won't kill the subscription numbers
Two of the defining characteristics of a carebear are wanting other players to play the way the carebear wants and whining on the forums for the game to change when they don't. Yet I see more threads on these forums from gankers than I do miners whining about wanting the game changed to suit them. |

Miilla wrote:I just want to be a real bounty hunter in all areas of eve, if I have to go to NULL, well its free for all in null already, this adds nothing much to null, and it is restricted in empire, I just cannot see Bounty Hunter being taken seriously as it stands.
How can I get into Bounty Hunting if I am going to be concorded for claiming bounties?
All CCP done is make an ISK sink, with no real fun in it appart from oh hehehe he got killed email for a lame rifter fight at a station dock.
Their web page for the expansion touts "bounty hunter" blah blah, I just don't see it. Looks like overhype than anything substantivly playable.
woopie doo.
Being a bounty hunter would mean that you hunt criminals and as far as I know those have kill rights even in high sec. When you are talking about claiming a 'bounty' on non criminal members of society you are talking about assasination and not bounty hunting. |

A pod is harder to kill because:
-It has a tienier sig than most frigs (and thus harder to lock) -it has a better agility than most frigs (it can insta warp) -There is a 2 sec delay in destroying ship > pod in on overview thus more difficult
Killing a afk pod in high sec is easy and not comparable to any other situation,
Therefore pods should give a higher payout |

Miilla wrote:When a bounty goes over a certain threshold, they should be fair game without getting concorded not just having a bad security rating otherwise bounty hunting just won't take off in empire outside of world of warcraft style duelling that they added.
Being a bounty hunter in empire is like *knock knock.. excuse me mr quasi-bad person, may we duel so I can claim your bounty?
Does not really encourage Bounty Hunting as a mini-profession in empire at all.
Some bad ideas will stay bad forever. -.-
And sadly some people will always try to implement them no matter how much time has passed. There's nothing a million chinese guys can't do cheaper. |

If this is correct, shouldn't there be higher reward for a higher penalty/risk (same could be argued for a gank that takes on a higher risk/penalty too) or is this no longer the future direction of Eve? There is almost no risk in attacking a pod. Why would the reward be higher? Because if one is in empire, you take on a sec penalty and get flagged/killed. only if you are stupid and attack without permission.
however when you podkill suspects or criminals where is the risk? |

Because those are considered penalties or risks these days... Yes and that risk/penalty needs to be balanced by a reward to encourage mini professions, especially the "bounty hunter" mini profession which seems dead on arrival in empire.
Are you serious?
Thats not risk/reward... thats investment/profit...
If you are to dumb to be able to get a pod that is going to be profitable then its not our faults. You are just mad cause your alt cant pod you anymore to get the bounty. |
