hey guys - a pal and me have been having a hot-rod contest to see who can get what frigate to go fastest - till today he was in the lead at about 950, but then today I got a 1mn MWD and bang and with nanofibers & a few other bits my speed seemed to cap at 2500 - is this the maximum sublight speed?

interesting - but presumably each class has a top speed, and 2500 is the frigate's top speed? (at least, in an Gallente Atron)

My Vigil goes around 4400m/s. And that's using nanos, not overdrives.

Gistii Microwarpdrive Presumably. Expensive faction module. 661% base boost to speed (compared with t2 MWD's 550%).

Implants would also be another reason. i've seen people do over 7km/s with a full set of pirate implants in.
Can we shoot them yet? |

Gistii MWD and 3x Local Hull Nanos. I have Minnie Frig 5 but my Nav skills aren't so great. With max skills and Local Hull Overdrives, Vigil can hit almost 6000m/s.

...still think a slasher can go faster. I remember when I strapped a single mwd to it, and I hitted the 3.3k/s. ..and that was without any kind of implants and rather low navigation skills.

Nope, the lower mass of the Slasher doesn't make up for it only having 1 low slot. With max skills the Slasher ends up being around 5-600m/s slower.

My executioner going just s touch over 5km/sec:
1 gistii MWD
3 local hull overdrives
I still do not have maxed speed skills
...used to go faster but I lost my implants  I'm going to get that bastard back tho

Crusader with gistii MWD and 4 domination overdrives with a full snake (right one?) set would be fastest I think.
Not sure how fast though.

If I put 3 overdrives on my Vigil it goes over 4500 with a normal named mwd. If I put on the Gistii one it tops 6000.
I know Kickass tried it on his claw (he has slightly better skills than me) and got it over 7500m/s with the gistii mwd.
Will have to see about getting some of those pirate implants.
There are 2 speed implants you can buy for very cheap (like 1 mil each) that incread base speed and mwd speed by 3%. You can get 5% ones too but the are expensive if you get podded.

Can you say: stackable AB and MWD? Top speed in those days was beyond 1AU/s just so that none wonders - some people claimed it should be possible to be faster than warp speed (unfortunately only for a brief time < 1 sec due to cap), but I left before that claim was proven :(
Since they arent stackable anymore, this speed isnt possible either :( But fun it was :)

I did some calculations and testing even with relativly cheap gear your rifter will go about 4500m/s without ever running out of cap.
You can even get the better quite a bit more expensing stuff plus the speed pirate implants and the "normal" MWD implants. And I am quite sure the 10km/s is a very posible and I wouldn't be surprised if it can be done in a firgate, then again it will set you back a huge amount and other than using it for racing it makes no sence to spend so much ISK on a quick frigate.

Had my Ares over 6100ms with a Gistii mwd, but because of the sig radious thing with mwd's I have gone over to a t2 1mn ab.
Fastest I ever had a ship was a Thorax fitted with 3 10mn mwd's got it to over 15000kms or
15,000,000ms you cant do that any longer was a good laugh tho.  |

At the more usable end of the spectrum, an Executioner will do 3000m/s with an MWDI, a set of Nano Is and a bit of navigational pimpage. Sure it's not the 4.5k you can get with an inty or a pimped named setup, but on the flipside you can get the hull for 30k, the nanos for 10k each and the MWD for 50k or so (IIRC) - not exactly expensive :)

How long? I think 9-22** in venal is undisputed winner. 283au. But i manage to get crusader across with one warp, but i have to put mwd offline(but cap recharges till i end warp), but i have crappy nav. skills.

My Executioner can get to 3,413m/s. AND, can make the warp from Gulfonodi gate to Bosena gate in Teonusude. All I have fitted is:
Hi-Dual Light Beam Laser II & Prototype Cloaking Device I
Med-Catalyzed Cold Gas MWD
Lo-2 Nanofiber Is & 1 WC Stab

Ok, this was BEFORE the multiple MWD nerf (for those that dont know you could fit as many MWD's or AB's as you felt like on any ship AND use them all at the same time). I fit four 10MN MWD's on a blackbird with two medium T2 cap batteries, and two PDU II's on there. I managed to get all four to activate one cycle hehe, got up to 154km/s in that short time span, the show info screen was over 250km/s max speed.
The down side to this? The only person that can verifiy my speed quit 6 months ago. Other than that, I think my current top speed ship was my raven with 5 local hull overdrives and a named 100mn mwd at around 3300m/s. But that makes it turn like a brick on sand paper.

Ok....the best hotrod in the game...is a minmatar interceptor...with 3 domination overdrives (40 each)
and all the speed skills maxed,navigation,acc control,leadership and one other that escapes me at the moment.
Then add on a set of +3 snake implants
It equals out to 8800M/s without the snakes...so figure somewhere in the 13k range...all hypothetical since some of the +3 snakes havent been released yet =(
