I think you people are crazy. Just take a loot at your own logs folder size. Now you tell me that they keep logs on all 500.000 accounts all the way back from 2003? Sometimes the only difference between a budding genius and a blooming idiot is where they chose to take a stand. |

In Australia giving someone a death threat is enough to give our agencies permission to watch you and hack into your computer to watch what things you do online or see what you have on your computer.
You just have to give them a reason to do it, and they will.
They need to practice on someone. So when they actually need the skill they have it. |

Intelligence agenies in most places can only request the logs/data under probable cause (ie they meet someone in game discussing terrorist tatics against real targets).
There is and shouldnt be any agreement for a periodic turn in. Only on a per request.
Even then they're going to use alot of filters in order to narrowdown the information they're looking for so chances of what sexting you done with your ingame girlfriend probably wont be popping up. Unless ingame girlfriend is underaged and they're actually a cop on the other side.

Those "afk cloakers"...they're not afk--they're listening posts.
Personally, I upload my chat and combat logs to FTP.FBI.gov nightly. You're either with them or you're ag'in 'em. When they start kicking in doors, I want to make sure they know that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to prove I'm on their team. I'm that kind of weasel.

It has come to my attention that any electronic communication with the words 'bomb', 'terrorist' or 'attack' will be red-flagged for assessment by the world's police forces at their leisure.
Now that they are all listening, do you think you could find whoever it was stole my car?
Thanks.

The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

Look, paranoia is an essential part of life these days - to a degree. I would not like to be an American living in America these days. The recent tragic events would make me a confirmed paranoid. But really - gaming logs viewd by the FBI ? They must have 4 million staff members, reading gaming logs all day, even if just for keywords such as "bomb", "take control of", "assassinate", "shoot".
Oh wait, Eve would be targetted as a major terrorist training camp then....
LOL.
Love it all.

Wot I Think wrote:So, chatting in EVE today I am told that CCP turns over all of our chat logs, personal fittings, notes, bookmarks, and other assorted information to the Department of Homeland Security every so often.
This is a joke right?
I have nothing to hide, but it seems like a wholly necessary thing to do since CCP is in a different sovereign nation than the DHS.
Clarification from CCP?
ofcourse not, that information is turned over to kgb, dummy. Gentlemen! |

Do you think they have enough people to manually go over every single bit of information they intercept? No. Computers look for keywords and probably intelligently read sentences.

This is why CCP are limiting our saved ship fittings to 50 - the DHS don't have enough internet spaceship ship fitting assessment operatives to cope with any more!

First of all ...
OF COURSE everything you hear/read is abso-*******-lutely right. OF COURSE it is ! There's not the SLIGHTEST reason not to think that !
Second ...
Even IF they do it, they HAVE to anyway, because there's not much choice.
If you had a company depending on subscribers, and if you had quite a few thousand subscribers coming from the US, you don't argue about it, but just do it.
That said, HomeLand Security is the number one motherfucking ****.
Edit: (motherfucking. wow. not censored. cool. IT'S LEGAL !!) (************. ************ motherfucker ************)
(CCP, YOU'VE MISSED WORD !!)
Edit2: Funny. motherfuckING is okay too. ^^
