lesse.. been using Tech or Tek for few years now. in "relaxed" sittings I introduce myself as Tek, half the people I know are sure its my name. and the 'ran.. dunno, Tek was just to short on the name bar widget. tek from tech from techno from technomantic from technomancy, which is just a cool word. might tie in with my love of drones.

You hear they are planning on remaking it?
They've been remaking it for about ten years.
The fact that the website detailing the plans has been replaced by this is not a good sign though...

So which novel or comic is this name from? (I've read a lot of SF, but don't remember this name).
Mine comes from my extremely limited imagination. Race, bloodline and whatever that other choice was . Keep it simple stupid, is my watchword.

Edited by: s4mp3r0r on 21/09/2005 11:16:25 I¦ve used this name in Civilization, ever since i found out you could edit the name of the emperor. To make it easy :
sam da emperor became samperor, think i checked on google and found somebody had once used it, so made it "leet" to make sure no one used this version.
I almost always use [*DRUNK*]GRAVEFILLER for FPS¦s (CS, CS:S, OP4 back in the day, some Quake), but this name is too long for eve. I used [DRUNK]_GRAVE in Diablo but that would show up weird in Eve, besides i don¦t think brackets were possible at the time i created this char (or are possible still).
My other char is named : Ajax Victorious because I¦m a hardcore Ajax fan, the other char is called Mr ****yPants cus i wanted to use a somewhat funny name to spam local with and thought it would be fun to see corpses flying around space named Mr ****ypants.
Crazy enuf, some guy from a corp transferred 100M isk to me after a month of creation, because his corpmate "mr ****IEpants" had requested the funds. Gave back the money. Now and again my alt and mr ****IE cross paths and i always laugh. Think at some point mr ****IE even got a kill on my alt in TPAR-G :D
EDIT : OMG p00p is censured still :S

Wanted a short name, and was reading The Night's Dawn Trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton at the time. One of planets was called Ombey, which sounded cool.
Once I started playing Eve, I realised one of the roids was called Omber

Bloodgood

The name itself comes from an old cristian metal rock band :) (they where pretty good too) I first used it playing "Pirates!" on the Amiga 500 in my young days... And its been there since then thru all MMORPG i played, Anarchy Online, DAOC, SWG, Neocron, WoW, and now EvE...
In EvE I named my first character "Bloodgood", and wasnt happy about the characters skills after some playing so i did a new one, naming him "Blood good" since i couldnt delete "Bloodgood" at once(there was some kind of deletion timer).

Edited by: Pistonbroke on 21/09/2005 12:21:35 A Biker friend of mine had a lapel badge on that said "the pistonbroke club" over a pair of crossed, broken pistons. I took one look and laughed, "ha-ha pistonbroke,- ****ed and broke, very good" - he looked gobsmacked - "I never realised!" he said.
From that day on Ive used pistonbroke for emails, game names etc... I like it especially as a lot of people just don't get it.
as an aside and especially for the Non-English-as-a-first-language players, the dual nature also appeals to me: ****ed = drunk in the UK and angry in the US. Broke universally means having no money. . . OMG they nerfed ****ed

Mine does not come from Star gate as alot of people think, I came up with the name long before the TV series came on TV, but it does come from my surname. I took the Gould part and deiced to put fish on the end. so GouldFish. I've been using it now for over 7+ years.
I gave my young bro the name GouldFinger for a joke.

Nemesio Torres
|
Posted - 2005.09.21 13:32:00 -
[85]
I have a weekly tabletop gaming group, and we change games relatively frequently. After literally years of begging, the rest of the group conceded to play Traveller, a space travel RPG. My character came through chargen REALLY well, and ended up as a Lt. Colonel. I named him Nemesio Torres. The group decided to play more generic fantasy after only a few sessions of Traveller, much to my disappointment. So when I had the opportunity to play a sci-fi rpg again, I used the same name. --- My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori. |

I didnt choose my name I earned it.
I started off in another MMORPG very similar to EVE and I wanted to choose a name that would reflect me... I picked Scoundrel because I often use unconventional (sometimes underhanded) means to achieve my goal. Wow I could tell you some stories... =============================================== I will punch you with my laser! -Scoundrelus |

Trinity Trixx

I've used Trinity as my online nick for the last 7 years. When my friends turned me on to EVE, they said that some people prefer two names. So I asked her what a good second name would be and she said Trixx. Worked for me as it makes naming my ships very fun: Majik Trixx, Dominatrixx, pHat Trixx, Trixxster, Cheap Trixx, Trixx of the Trade, etc. --

"Here is my talisman. If you change your mind, give us a chant".
D'Hoffryn is a character from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. If I remember correctly D'H was "born" on one of those hungover sunday mornings. My girlfriend was sitting in the living room watching old buffy episodes and I had wandered off to see what this eve thing was all about. I needed inspiration for a name and there it was.
In true mmorpg style I managed to mis-spell the name.

My name comes from a film that I can guarantee no-one has seen... because it's currently sitting in the production queue for my edit-suite (and has been for about a year now). Uncle Angus is a crazy old Scottish guy who is hanging out with a couple of pals when his niece arrives from America; unfortunately for them she's unwittingly brought the cause of a zombie outbreak with her... the film is Monday Morning Zombies and it's the sequel to the much-loved (hmm) Sunday Night Zombies.
