Dear ladies and gentlemen of crime & punishment, Dear ladies and gentlemen of GÇÿnot so scoundrelsGÇÖ,
former targets asked us if we-¦d show them how highsec wars in general and merc-day-to-day business works. So we thought about running out a GÇ£classGÇ¥.
You-¦ll learn what it means to hunt in highsec - and how to avoid getting toasted. Saying this means you-¦ll also learn how a merc works - and thus you-¦ll also get known to make a mercs hunt less fun (while you-¦re on the recieving side).
"scedule" will contain subjects like: "know your target", "how to find targets" and so on. Some more specific knowledge like "the art of suiciding (for profit or assassination contracts)". Pretty much everything can be covered related to the profession of highsec-dweller (just don-¦t expect mining operations).
There will be a small theory-part every "lesson" (with compact information upfront via evemail). The practical part will outlast the theory by far (learning by doing).
We might also go on a roam in lowsec - it all depends on what the class is up to.
Why we think we are capable of this: www.kane.killmail.org
kane.killmail.org StoneCold.eve-kill.net Somali.killmail.org
'Details': - size of class is limited due to my herpderp corp skills - will last as long as you like to stay - costs: 300m
Minimum requriremnts: - be able to pilot at least 1 combat-able ship (resonable t1 frig with warp disruptor / scrambler) will do to get started. - only fly what you can afford to lose - willingness to learn (if you don-¦t: just send the isk as donation and don-¦t occupy a slot) - for optimal learning process you will have to join the "House of sparrows" - you need "guidance", but none to hold your hand - additional pro: beeing able to run locator agents can save you loads of isk (and make you shine in your group)
If you-¦re interrested and want on the "contact when available"-list, send me please an eve-mail (just DON-¦T send isk without a talk)
Additional info: (sort of Q/A)
Q: Why do you charge fee? A: Simply because a wardec cost isk. If the corpwallets turns (to) fat and healthy we might start a ship reimbursement.
Q: Why do you run a school? A: It turns out that some of our closest eve friends are ex-wartargets. And according to them there is a market. Filling market needs is good, aye?
Q: U-¦re bad at forums. A: I know.
Q: I know allready a lot of stuff but I-¦m looking for a corp. A: Feel free to join the class. If we invite the "top of of the class" into Somali or not is not yet decided (but it-¦s on the table).
Q: You can-¦t be always around. How do you guarantee that you even teach us? A: I-¦m going to setup a corp bulletin with all needed links so you can find all information all the time. Corp mails will contain the 'theoretical stuff'. As fighting in large gangs is not what you-¦re going to learn here you-¦re encouraged to organise yourself in small (2 - 4)combat groups.
Q: I have no idea how pvp works. I also don-¦t want to risk real isk on the process of learning. HALP ME! A: No problem at all. We realy teach you the way you like (including risk-free lessons on Singularity if that-¦s what you looking for).
Q: I heared Kane is a cannibal and you are a ne'er-do-well/scoundrel/whatever. I don-¦t dare to participate in your class. A: Besides from public assumption Kane and me are 'normal' people (whatever that means). With jobs, family and everything else. And to be honest: the group of "our kind" of people is way more relaxed then 'them others' (ingame). For Hire Psychotic Monk for CSM |

Hey Alyshie,
ty for your interrest in our service.
Well, the plan so far is to keep the service running. Meaning that you can join whenever you want. As there is no limit or minimum participants needed i think for optimal results there should be at least 3, maybe 4 (also depending on the participants skills).
Both of us (kane and myself) are EU-TZ. So 99% of the service will be held in EU. Though that-¦s not a real problem as you can get the 'theoretical' knowledge presented via mail. Though it will be an advantage if you got a wingmate for actually getting kills.
The fee is truly to cover wardec costs. In the beginning there will be maybe 1 or 2 wardecs only (again it-¦s not set in stone. Depends on participants, activity of targets and so on).
Payment plan - herpderp :P But: if there is a payed job (or any sort of income) the ISK will (most likely) be sent to the corp wallet to cover even more wars. For long-time participants who also Q&A newbros there might be some income (kane and me are pretty relaxed. So we havent set much yet so we can form the class as it fits US ALL best (inlcidung the sparrowlings).
How we finance a whole lot of wars when corp wallet bled dry... yeah, thats something i have to think about. I will happily keep 2 50m wars active for my very self cost. But 10 wars will force me to sell my shineys - which makes me cry :P. A way to fix it can be brainstormed 1 or 2 weeks before this happens.
Hope that answers your questions well.
If you have more Qs upcoming just let me know.
Cheers,
Stone. For Hire Psychotic Monk for CSM |

Camp is really fun, I got to shoot at WT's last night with Kane and even managed to wh*re on a mail.
Kane is all zen-like and a very crafty hunter. I hope to learn a lot while I'm here.
I am not sure who is writing the tutorials (I think it is StoneCold) or if it's a joint effort, but they have been informative and are starting with the very basics. So don't think you need to have 20 million skillpoints to join Camp, I am in a freaking Rifter.
Culo duro has been in our public channel and must have the patience of a saint to sit and explain for the millionth time why such-and-such is a bad fit. Plus I heard he gave us stuff so he seems like a pretty cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.
The other corpmates and sparrowling visitors I've talked to have been pretty cool and then sometimes we go shoot at each other for fun.

We will be starting some more wars but the main corp will not join in.
We found this to cause more problems. Like our many other wars people leave on mass. Stone will be jumping across to bootcamp to run the fleets.
The guys also met their first AF today and lost. As long as the guys learn they can loose as many ships as they want. I want them to have fun and loose ships doing so.
When stone is not online I try to help out while I still keep doing what I am paid for in my normal corp. And yeah Culo is awesome.. I have also gotten mails from guys will to support losses and give back the isk value of the losses. Still ironing that one out since it is a big commitment isk wise.

Saw this advert and thought it would be a good way to get back up to speed with things and try something a little different to what I've done in the past.
So far I'm loving every minute. Having lots of fun with like minded people.
The only down side is we have been so successful in our current war that the WT's are staying logged off

I'm sure they had more fun playing Eve than the people who drop corp or stay docked up. Mistakes were made, lessons were learned and they'll come into the next fight better prepared. I'll upload the real video to the Bootcamp forum together with some analysis how we can improve further.

While there is almost 1 week of war left we start to lack viable targets. We have watched the target to creat refugee-corp and joining them, staying offline, hiding in wormholes. That speeds everything down a bit at the moment.
From 04.05. till today the booties achieved a killcount of 88 with a total of almost 7b isk in damage on the current target.
The 100th Kill was achieved on 2013-05-10 20:05:00 with removing a Gnosis.
Since the bootcamp openend the doors 24 ships for a total value of around 430m were lost.

Well, what to say. I heard of Kane from some corp mates, started reading about him and became a sort of idol. When I heard he was making a trainning corp directed by himself and his mate Stone I knew that's where I needed to be. I even joined the corp 1 week before it started.
So far it's been amazing beyond words, the fleets, the hunting, the support and help, makes it a very interesting enviroment to be part of.
Many of us (self included) got to see their first real fleet clashing a few days ago, which was a very enriching experience, both in fleet movement and fights, with targets being studied, analyzed and priorized. We emerged victorious with only 2 losses against ~15 kills, including a Megathron to pair with a Navy Apocalypse we killed the day before. Few days pass, we get to kill a 1.5b Tengu along with several kills (right now our average is 11,5 kills per day), until this morning we get in a 3 versus 9 fight. killing 11 of them including pods, and losing only 1 cruiser.
Stone have been dedicating to the camp full-time, it's easy to grow respect for him And Culo, while does have a name hard to take seriously for any spanish talkers, have been overly helpful, never missing a single question about fittings, making donations for the camp and lately joinning the fight itself, putting as much effort as Kane and Stone, if not almost more.
Experiences like this, makes EVE a different kind of game to play. |

A brief story why the BootCamp was created:
I was doing some brainstorming on if (and what) i can do for EvE for my 10th anniversary. While I-¦m beeing aware of that-¦s rather narccistic (and keeping in mind that i-¦m totaly unimportant to the EvE) I was still giving it a go.
My first thought was to add a couple of prices to the BIG Lottery. Tornsoul gave his ok. Problem was (and is): I'm ship and attitude rich - but rather space poor. So i sent a letter to an (imo) 'important-to-EvE'-guy who said to give it a thought (even might join the endeavour himself). After 3 weeks of waiting I gently asked if he got a final answer allready. He had. Sadly he backed out.
Downer.
So... more brainstorming happened with myself (it-¦s not that easy if you hear circus music all the time while using your brains).
What does EvE needs most? What can I do to improve the EvE-experience of as many as possible? What is it ...
*bazinga*
ISK-sink! Taking ISK out of TQ is a good thing. The next step was easy to come up with: Making ships explode. Happily i was in the position of beeing wingmen of the fine gentleman 'Cannibal Kane'. While i didn-¦t tell him exactly why i was planning a training corp he was totaly up for it - getting more Somali Coast Guard personal is a good thing.
So here we are. BootCamp openend the doors on 01.05.13. First i was in worry that it would fail terrible - but after 1 day i was all calm and satisfied - it-¦s working out well so far.
Note: This doesn-¦t go against our intention to 'form' the bloodthirsty into space-sharks until we offer them a place in the mothercorp.
Hereby i want to thank: Cannibal Kane (for turning me into a mini-shark and beeing your wing-mate) Culo Duro (for all the support and all the good laughs) the 'important-to-EvE'-guy (who denied my question for anniversary-help) all the public and hidden supporters all former (and still up-to-today EvE-friends) last (but not least) all the fine ladies and gentlemen who joined the BootCamp and dealing such a BLAST against the training targets! (without YOU the BootCamp couldn't happen!)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Thank you very much for enabling me to celebrate my 10th anniversary with all of EvE at this day! (and while you did that: granting me the best I was ever involved in EvE as a gift!)
If you want to joint he celebration: Eat a fine piece of meat today - I-¦ll get me a rib-eye tonight for Stone (sry Stone, i-¦ll upload a .jpg for you^^).
Cheers!

Yesterday a fight happened (when I wasn-¦t around). After i returned from work and finished my 'family duty' i took a look at the kb. Eye-rubbing. Another look. More eye-rubbing.
Oh, one of our senior member lost his vigilant - that-¦s why the isk-loss raised significantly. Meh.
After logging in and asking around what happened i got a pretty clear and straightforward answer: Missunderstanding, missinterpretation and ofc - falling for a trap.
I still giggle a bit inside about those words of beeing afraid we (kane and me) beeing mad at them. Obviously we aren-¦t. You-¦re here to learn - hard earned lessons are the best!
Needless to say that after the trap 80% of the caracal-fleet docked up and logged off (20% just docked up) while my booties started to hunt again - with great success (and the suspect control was strong in them!). My true stories |

Loss is a good thing. Get you used to it so when you do loose something you jump back into another ship and go at it again.
Almost lost my Proteus this weekend to a trap but in the end it is all fun and games. That is all it should be.
So go forth Somalies and enjoy exploding ships and loosing your own.

I wasn-¦t there myself, but last night around 23:00 eve time my fine booties faced a loki of infinity space. This loki killed 6 of our ships and 1 pod (for a total of < 300m).
After i checked the kills i had that ear-to-ear grin ;)

I was just looking for a group of people with a good head on their shoulders to pvp with, nice laid back people just lookin' to shoot ****.
was out hunting as soon as i joined.
Seems like a great group to be apart of and pvp with.

Dear Mr one_of_my_guys
You have not proven to be a candidate for reclassification from our first meeting, but you are a little rude for closing the chat window and rejecting my invite to complete the reclassification procedures.
As stated, you are allowed 1 witness to vouch that you are in fact not an Empire Douchebag. This will be done in private conversation and I alone will be the judge to determine whether classification into the douchebag category is deemed prudent and in the best interest of the Eve Hi Sec community.
Your Rights: You have the right to remain silent, yet silence may prove to be evidence of your guilt. You have the right to know who are your accusers. You have the right to at least 1 witness, as stated previously. The witness may not be a previously classified Douchebag. If you need a translator, WE will provide one at your cost.
Sir, you ask what it is WE can do to you. Be sure of 1 thing... you wont know until it happens. Then, hi sec citizen you may find all that you knew gone. Please consider this before responding in the future.
You have 24 hours to prove you are not in fact an Empire Douchebag, this requires at least 1 witness to begin the process.

Problem is when corps specifically target new player corps... that's what happened. Somali Coast Guard BootCamp was specifically targeting new players - not players who are experienced. 10v1 versus new players is always going to give a corp a bad rep... Personally I think those corps that only ever target new player corps are far worse than pirate corps that sit low sec gates. No skill in targeting new player corps constantly - simple as. |

Yes because new players fly T3's and faction/t2 Battleships. Well when I was in a new player corp Somali Coast Guard started a war against us, we were all new players. Two specific members were tracking me down and gate sitting when I was running level 2 missions in a crap very basic Caracal. They also took out another member of the corp and gate camped him too. I got away from the drone camping which couldn't lock me but then 5 ppl showed up on the gate. So yes there are certain members who are only targeting new players, even new players in basic Cruisers = newbie bashing corp in my understanding. Also went to move my Drake to Jita and had the same 2v1 I was pwning them then all of a sudden 5 more turned up. Seems to be the same two people who have now moved to The Bootcamp corp. The only wars started by you were against new player corps with low tax rates which really shows us all what you are about. |

Look at the war history, people aren't stupid... Here a couple on the list:
Skull Bearers = New Player corp with low tax rate Financial Freedom Inc = New Player corp with low tax rate Pro Synergy = New Player Salvaging corp that don't even do PvP Miners in Posession = New player mining corp
I could go on all day, the list of previous wars speaks for itself.

Okay then, just so we're clear...
Bootcamp is for people new to PVP, and they were plenty of corps that aren't newbies and plenty of victims that were high SP veterans in shiny ships that certainly knew what they were doing.
You could take an opportunity to join them / get help / read guides and learn or fight back instead of autopiloting around under war and crying about it. Oh and not once were you ever 10v1 (except whilst getting ganked 18v1 by Pandemic Legion in lowsec). You'd think a corp with that many losses in low sec would know what PVP was.
Pro Synergy - 2011 Miners in Possession - 2007 Financial Freedom Inc - 2012 All older and with more members than SCGBC.
yeah... total newbies. You conveniently miss out all the MERC corps that wardecced or allied onto target corps too. They killed Booties plenty. Nullsec training corps, Lowsec PVP corps with lots of faction war friends, Booties wardecced them all.
Keep poking Kane. See what happens...

Well that's funny because when I was in my Drake I was killing one guy when it was 2v1, then all of a sudden at least 5 came through the gate to help them, only fought back because I had no other option. Not all new players fly around with warp scramblers and anti-scramblers when doing level 2 missions..... Also was not auto-piloting I never auto pilot in eve especially when wars are on. I never targeted anyone either I have the combat logs to prove that the BootCamp IS targeting new players. Not just Battleships as you seem to claim, was taken out in a Caracal 3v1 and a rookie ship 2v1.
Trying to play the whole "we were at war with others" is just dumb too, the only wars from good corps were from those warring you not the other way around.
The low sec kill was while I was in a hauler doing a distribution mission and I don't really care about that I know it was a diff corp all together. |

You play PVEnvironment, we play PVPlayer.
We sometimes fight solo, sometimes in groups. You sometimes mission solo, sometimes in groups (or are all PVEers always solo... and why?)
You are a newbie, we are newbies too. Hence the "Bootcamp".
We learn how to find you, you should learn how to avoid us.
The only way we earn ISK by looting your ships and getting surrender offers, you earn ISK by doing missions. Each of us makes money his own way.
So what seems to be the problem? |

This is an error from your corp, not the bootcamps fault.
Your corp chose to not inform on how you should act during a war, and they didn't setup fleets to fight us back. Also there's only one persons fault for getting blown up, and that's you. |

The problem is when Corps like this specifically target new players and can't even fight 2v1 let alone 1v1. Gate camping out an area to take out a new player cruiser with 2 people is a joke IMO and any corp that does it deserves what comes back on it. |

I repeat, most of us are new players as well. Who should we target then, 2003 players?
Gate camping is as hard and involves the same tools as avoiding gate camps.

LOL you think that char creation date means anything? I created this character years ago and only just started playing recently with a promotion. So stating dates is plain stupid, people have breaks too from eve dates mean nothing. They don't mean a player is old.

It's no problem anyway, just thought that I would point a few things out, when I get back to my old alliance corp and I've trained all my PvP skills (which I didn't even need 2v1 *cough*) the tables will turn. if you think you can take out 2011 players who have full skills from then - think again. You couldn't even fight 2v1 let alone 1v1 vs a 16 day character. |

Sorry meant people who I've lanned with since 97. But anyway doesn't matter, I don't mind a bit of banter, was pointing out a few things about the other corp that you probably didn't know were going on. :) People stating dates tho on characters is just funny and corp dates, dates mean nothing. The corps I stated are all new player corps most of which don't even PvP which I'm sure everyone here knows already. If you want a challenge war PvP alliances - not noob corps is the whole point I was making here, it looks like some of the BootCamp people think they are pro yet can't even fight pve 16 day accounts 2v1,. |

I see alot of t2 kills in there so your assumption that they are newbie corps is incorrect. As a matter of fact. Miners in possions is a wardec corp. Along with that older players will sometimes be alot more carefull about moving about during a war. Leaving muppets like you to die instead of them. It a failing from your corp.
Why don't you just target PvP alliances then if you are so good? The corps you target are for a reason - easy pickings. As soon as big alliances pick up on it who are actually PvP spec and skilled everyone leaves... as seen here no? ;)

What will happen now: All left-over ISK are secured on kanes and my somali bootcamp chars. We-¦ll close our bootcamp for now with the option to reopen it in the near future. No isk will be spent on private, it stays within the 'somali bootcamp'.

You couldn't even fight 2v1 let alone 1v1 vs a 16 day character. Since your so good and like talking crap in threads. I will mail the CEO of each corp you join... telling them I am coming to say hello. was inspired to make a donation due to this.

Just wanted to thank StoneCold for the opportunity. I really enjoyed flying with everyone. I didn't get to fly as much as I wanted, but I learned a lot and got in on some really cool kills. Thanks to you and all the booties. It was fun. |
