Hi everyone, as announced we will be streaming Fanfest this year over Twitch , below is our schedule along with responses to some frequently asked questions. If you have any more questions please ask them in this thread.

FAQ
GÇóCan I watch for Free?
Yes, there will be a free stream available on Twitch, the stream will be limited in quality (not in HD) but viewable.
GÇóWhatGÇÖs the HD Stream / Twitch Subscription package?
oThe HD package gives you a full HD (1080) stream of the Fanfest.
oNear instant access to the presentation recordings (available shortly after each presentation has finished).
oIn game Quafe commemorative t-shirt (EVE Online) - both male and female versions.
oPirate Faction Rookie Frigate (EVE Online) - your choice of one of the five recently-released faction frigates for rookie pilots.
o50 copies of the Quafe Scout vk.0 dropsuit (DUST 514) - a flashy and effective dropsuit for confident mercenaries.
GÇóWhat does the HD Stream cost?
o19.95 or 1 Plex

oChat channels on Twitch will be restricted to subscribers only.

GÇóI havenGÇÖt bought the HD stream but I missed a presentation, when can I watch it?
oNon-HD Stream buyers will be able to watch presentations they missed a day later on twitch (still not in HD).
oHD Stream buyers will get near instant access to recordings after each presentation, all in HD.
oFull recordings of Fanfest including select presentations not show on EVE TV will be available on Youtube at some point in the weeks following Fanfest.

It won't be available immediately anywhere, we'll be doing a live mix for the EVE Tv stream but we're also recording every camera in the room individually along with who knows how many channels of audio so that we can then do a separate edit that will look and sound stunning. Right now I can't give an eta or say how that would be distributed.

Yes it will go out on both the free and HD streams and should go on until at least midnight, possibly as late as 2am.

No there won't be a repeat of the show "over night" as was done last year. HD stream buyers will have access to re-watch any presentation show on the stream at any time. Free stream viewers will have to wait for the end of the next day to get access to those replays.

The DevTrack sessions should appear just like anything on the main feed, quickly for the HD viewers, a day delayed for the free stream.

Yes but the second stream is basically just live from the DevTrack room as those guys really want to include the viewers in the presentation, it's more of a bonus channel just for that.

Can we get a list of sessions which won't be streamed but will be available as recordings later (or list of those which won't be streamed nor recorded if that's easier)? Such list may be useful for fanfest attendees who are about to make unofficial recordings. |

Excellent! Glad I bought the HD stream.
Perhaps next year you can have 3 or 4 different streams so that you can STREAM ALL THE THINGS. The extra streams don't have to be in HD.

Under Account Management > Services > Voucher Center you'll see the codes you need to redeem the live stream and the DUST dropsuits.
Also, CCP Loxy, were you referring to the HD stream when you mentioned that the roundtable discussions would not be recorded, or did you mean that they would be recorded and available via the HD stream and only unavailable for YouTube viewing?

Is there any particular reason why not? Is it just a case of not enough manpower? If that's the case, why not put a call out to the players, I'm sure there will be plenty of players happy to help out by recording the roundtables for you.

You can find your code stored in the Voucher Center, under the Services tab in Account Management. With it there is a list of instructions on how to actually activate the code.
If you have any issues with the code itself please be sure not to copy any blank spaces along with the code as this will invalidate it when you add it to Twitch, just remove those spaces and you are golden.

I used copy n paste with no spaces - will not enter it - I also sent in an email to twitch first thing this morning - no reply there also.

Their support is weak, and I am NOT spending another plex nor RL money to get the stream I paid for. I am upset this is not working as my code is invalid and Twitch has had a full day ( 8 hrs ) to reply and...nothing so I guess I will miss out on the HD stream here :( |

I paid for the stream (listed under account activity) and i have neither the code nor the other items for paying. I paid with plex and do not have a plex in my redeeming system either. |

So any Eta, its the main reason i bought the HD stream, work had me by the balls and wasnt able to watch it!

There is substantial background hiss on the HD stream. The symphony was perfect. The inter-segment broadcasts from the balcony are also perfect. However during the presentations the background noise is distractingly loud. Hopefully you can find the bad connection or apply a highpass filter or something.
I hear the hiss right now, in the FTL panel, and it was also present in the previous ship balancing panel. I am not sure if it was in the retribution retrospective panel.
Please let me know if there is a better place to post this feedback.

Well.. technically, when you are watching them you are downloading them, as they are downloaded bit by bit to your PC then played in the Twitch player in your browser.

I was trying to watch the replay of the devtrack recording just now, but I gave up after about 5 minutes.. (Not counting the hour and a half of nothing but a picture of the schedule)
It's almost impossible to hear what CCP Seagull is saying because there's some other completely unrelated audio track overlayed. And you can't follow along by watching the slides either because guess what.. They weren't even shown.
The above plus all the other production issues on the main stream makes me feel cheated by CCP. I am sad to say that I will never be buying any HD streams from you again. |

Specially with the Alliance Panel i think u made a big mistake.
Actually, cus u are scared the Mittanigate Scandal may happen again u let the unique chance slip away to let very dedicated Players tell their storys (u know, the actual content of your game) on the Platform of Twitch.tv where a lot of random people could stumble in by accident.
But yeah, the DevTrack stream really was a successful trade-off marketing wise. |

Agreed: resisting the urge to curse but seriously - Dust over CSM and Alliance Panel? On the longest day, not enough Eve players cares enough about the Dust crap. Would love to see the metrics: How many Eve players purchased the stream vs. Dust players.
Between that and lag for my "HD" I learned a valuable lesson about throwing $20 away.
I could have waited for the 60 minute difference to catch the reruns with less lag. |

There was NO login details. You needed to register on twitch.tv by yourself then use the code you got after paying for subsription on your account management page (on eve's site, not twitch).
I think you just screwed up something or didn't see something or whatever. You should've tried petitioning in-game if you REALLY didn't get anything on this page https://secure.eveonline.com/Vouchers/

Posted Videos are slow and impossible to watch what with stopping and starting every few seconds!
Could these videos be loaded in a format that they will load promptly??
I have done everything I can on my computer but the posted videos will not load and can not be viewed continuously!!

No there won't be a repeat of the show "over night" as was done last year. HD stream buyers will have access to re-watch any presentation show on the stream at any time. Free stream viewers will have to wait for the end of the next day to get access to those replays.
I'm an HD stream buyer. So I have access to the vids. But there's just no solid record of 26.04, just separate presentations and 2 large fragments. So I was asking a big 10 hour long record to be put there like it was done for the 1st day.

As someone who paid cash for the HD stream, I am pretty disappointed with Fanfest as it was streamed on the web. I did like what little we saw about EVE, but there should have been spent a lot more screen time on those nice things. Instead, it was another DUST Fanfest. Maybe I should have expected this, but I really thought that the DUST Fanfest of last year was a one-time thing because DUST was new then.
So what did I get for my money?
-DUST
-more DUST
-stream breaking down
-even more DUST
-goofy presentations by weird people fantasizing about real-life asteroid mining and space travel
-a great EVE keynote where the HD stream stopped working. Yes that's right, the only really good part and what I paid for stopped working and I had to switch to SD stream. Probably because the devs urged the viewers to force everyone they know to watch it, many thanks for that :p
Now I know that DUST looks much better these days and is probably a good shooter, which I'm still not interested in because it's a shooter and it's console-exclusive. I guess EVE will be a permanent fringe issue in Fanfest telecasts from now on, so next year I won't even bother with watching the stream, let alone pay money for it.
But, to re-iterate: The few bits that were about EVE, those were mostly very nice.

Due to crappy circumstances this year, I have no other access to the internet at this time other than my smartphone. Unlike last year when I could catch the recorded parts of Fanfest on Youtube within a few hours,.we are stuck with the abomination that is Twitch.tv. I can't watch the replays on their site due to the particular device I am stuck with not supporting Flash and the twitch.tv mobile app is crap incarnate. Now I have to wait "some weeks" for the vids to be posted on Youtube.
I am so depressed. Can't play Eve right now, can't live vicariously through fanfest vids. Well, at least I can watch the latest trailer.
Now that Malcanis was elected to CSM8, I am sigless.Someone do something important. |

So (and this is a question only a dev can answer), is there a rough idea when the videos will be posted? I had to work during the stream and am checking for a "Fanfest 2013" playlist on CCP's youtube channel every day now.
Trust me, I understand its a bit of work to do this, Im just curious if there is even a rough window for when they will be posted yet. CCP was really quick with this last year and I need something to ease my enthusiasm this year, give me a time frame to check again basically. I love eve and the fanfest video's are one of my highlights of the spring since I have yet to go.
I saw something recorded by someone that attended and now I am itching to watch the rest. Also.. CCP Soundwave, awesome man beard you're growing there man, keep it up.
