Great venue and quite informative, plus abducting a drunk Dev or two for after-event drinks is always fun ;) Still wondering when CCP is going to put the flashy light back on top of the Navy Comet though...I never did get an answer. Having the cheif Dev mutter 'bloody pirates' was priceless though XD For those wondering, there is plenty of accommodation available in Newcastle; the royal station hotel is the easiest to find and offers some very nice rooms for around -ú45--ú60. Plenty of others around, travel lodge just outside the town gives you a roof over your head for the night at around -ú25 to -ú30. I'm personally traveling from London, prebooked train tickets are about -ú25 each way. Hope this helps!

Really curious to see how busy things get when the weather isn't trying to end the world.

Not too sure if anyone from down south had made the journey. There was a mystery guy who came all the way from Hong Kong I believe it was truly legendary. Could be wrong but I think the Newcastle studio was born from Midway going down the pan a few years back it was bought by someone, not sure who. Newcastle/Gateshead actually has a pretty strong heritage of game development studios something I don't think the local area bangs on about enough. The pictures from last year never did surface

Your memory is correct. The Mile castle on the other side of the road two minutes away. Then there's another spoons two minutes down from that. I was trying to get from Northumberland Park to Whitley Bay (maybe about 10-15 minute journey), took me ages to get to Earsdon (about 1.5 hours) and then the road between Earsdon and Whitley was closed, so I had to go all the way back round the long way again!!! About another 3 hours!!! I don't know how well you know that area, but it was absolutely ridiculous! Haha

It's sort of like they're stupid or something.. This guy had literally tried to choke me, had my face grinding off the pavement with his horrific thighs... and I'd resisted, the sense of entitlement is astonishing...I couldn't say what motivates the mind of someone who is in charge of who can and can't go inside of a building but it's fair to say that if he died of *** cancer tomorrow no one would care. Anyway; I got detained outside by my head as this fat manchild thrust his knee into my face, he tore my Tshirt to bits and I have cuts down my neck, all down my arm and face.. I shall be pressing charges. I'd still be there if it wasn't for my good Alliance friend rescuing me by issuing a swift kick to this dipshits head, this meathead who was determined the police would turn up any minute and arrest me for being assaulted. The police turned up and this bellend ran away, we went back to find him and kick his face off but he'd absconded from the venue apparently, or he'd gone back inside to liase with the horrific looking chick he'd brought with him and was so eager to impress. It didn't really ruin the night because we'd had an ace time before that and we are sort of used to bouncers being a laughing stock here in newcastle. Thanks to CCP Unifex for being the awesome, and the rest of the Dust514 test team for turning up and not really knowing what eve was about! TraderJohn was awesome, SamauriJack was awesome.. everyone we met was awesome good night !

I had a very similar experience when asking the "Are you here for EvE or Dust?" questions, especially when the pub opened up to the general public later on in the night. On a side note, however.
