The most difficult game I ever played. Word. Quite frustrating also. After 10 months of play I still have no clue how to earn enough money to buy a BS by soloing in high sec space. The price of defeat is absolutely to high and that brings out the worst in people. Other than that the anti mwd deadspace complexes don't make much sense in my opinion either. Why kill the MWD? I constantly feel outgunned also. :) :(
But I still play it and will continue so.

Eve is pretty open-ended, there are many ways to make ISK, but you gotta actually investigate them and find one you like.
I suggest getting into a corp (if you already are not) and working with others, your income opportunities improve and your potential ISK/hour goes up.

Well its not impossible to make money ...just depends on what kind of person you are. I mean i managed to go from 0 to ..bout 50million isk in 14 days.
Maybe its more actually ..lets see ..*3x a vexor ..+ brutix hmmz hmmz.. prototype weapons ..*ponders some more* ..yeh 50-60m isk all in all
So dont give up and join a nice corp that likes to help people and you'll do fine. ;)

Catch me in game. I felt the same way, left for a year and came back cause the other games were too easy. Perhaps I can help you find your way.

Do mining, hunting, missions, and all kind of stuff. Also as lower in SS you go the more money you can make with a higher risk _________________________________

I didnt mean that as an insult but... Oh nevermind
Have you tried agent missions? Obviously you tried complex's Tried Mining? Sure its boring but after a month you'll deffinatly have the things needed to build a BS Building?
There are plenty of things you can do... Sure EVE is tought but thats what makes it a great game

PS, if you've been playing for 10 months and still don't know how to play EVE well then maybe you should try WOW or that Disney MMORPG or something.
Shut up
Alot of people take more time than that. Hell, I got into my own (read: my own, rather than borrowed) BS like 2 years into the game. Sure, it's easier now what with revamped missions. But still, please shut up.
The thing about EVE is that it's *too* open ended. Compared to WoW, EVE has no real goals set out for you. It's like the difference between The Sims and Baldurs Gate. No goals vs. alot of goals.
You have to take a good, hard look into every single area of the game, and see what fits for you. You can make money from anything, even PvP. You just have to put some effort into it, even research. ---

Sure more people take more time than that but most of them do it by choice. EVE has goals, and the best part is that YOU set your own goals, not the game setting goals for you. Thats what makes it good.
But the last part is correct you just have you find somthing that you like to do, but it does take effort

My point exactly. Several "high-lvl" players regularly quit and come back. In most cases, EVE has become bland for them when they ran out of goals.
It's all about having something to aim for. When you finally got that Machariel/Impoc/Alliance, and have nothing more to look forward to, you have to find something else or EVE will get boring again. ---

If thats what you make of it, for me there is always a goal.

evilGold, I've haven't been playing aslong as you, but I can make anywhere from 2-5 mil isk per hour doing level 3 missions in an assault frig. Maybe you could try that, they are cheaper than a bs and more fun. You wont get super rich or anything but you will make plenty of isk to buy a battleship.

players like this the(old farts) are the ones who keep players like you out of the game isk/combat wise. they always wont too be the eve gods so they see too it on the forms you dont get your say. there are alot of newer players like him in the same boat and ccp better start noticing it or it will be too late for them soon enough too start seeing it.
they shouldnt have too wait a year too beable too get anything done in this game. btw, who wonts too be a follower in eve there hole game. some wont too srike out on there own after awhile so they should beable too do that with in a year i would say.

Doesn't take anything like a year to have independence. Within a month or so you can grab up a couple of friends from your starter corp and start making your way in the universe. Earlier if you are rocking and rolling.
Remember its the journey, not the destination. Relax and enjoy it.

High-sec, Solo... that's your problem.
First, join a good corp. They can teach you in-game the techniques needed to be sucessful.
Second, don't be afraid of low-sec. 0.0 may be more dangerous... but that's where all the isk is. If you can fly a Dominix and a hauler, you could easily mine enough solo for a new BS in a day. In a thorax... a couple days, though it'd be easier with friends, as without a tanker, you'd need to ninja mine.
With the right corp, a noob could gain enough isk for their first BS before they can train the skills to fly (and survive) in one.

Join a corp. Every one of our members flies whatever ship they want as soon as they have skills for it. They also EARN this ISK, are not given it. We simply provide the info and the tools, as any good corp will. CEO |

These are 1m battleship spawns, and I sell the named gear they drop...

hi evilGold. try hunting npc hunting, try mining, try agent missions.
try running a trade route. I made a crap load of money buying and selling slaves during the caldari/gallente research event.
talk to a corp about getting a mining contract, where you can mine for em.
join a corp, or join a larger one.
mine , mine , mine and mine a bit more and make your own bs, simply grab the bpc and make it.
buy some bp's and manufacture stuff. lots of differant ways to make isk
really you can do anything but cast spells and dream of fairy sex
corp activities can be lots o fun, even mining. 30 bs strip mining with someone running a ts and music server. the game is best played with a group of people. thats why in a group of people I could easily make gobs more isk then a solo player. a solo player could never venture into a 10/10 complex or various other things that need a group to really do Right. So my advice is join a good corp, make some friends and REALLY start to enjoy the game. The Blue Pills Make Me Happy

Why shouldn't they have to wait? We did! Eve is NOT a play 5 min get rich type of game, if that irritates you, oh well, go play a console game... If I irritate you, come find me :) I can usually be found chasing Blob/Xelas fleets around fountain core :) I like to think of myself as the chlorine in the gene pool. |

Train your skills and buy your equipment to do 'one thing' well. When you have that mastered, move onto the next.
Don't try to do 'everything' at once.

Once you get your first battleship and get it insured, your income level rises dramatically. You can make 10 million or more a day doing level 3 agent missions, many times that doing level 4 missions, and untold quantities of ISK ratting 0.0.
For the latter, not only do the bounties pay well, but you also get excellent named loot (which is absent in level 4 missions from the BS rats) and the chance to kill officer/commander spawns and get faction loot.
I spent two days ratting last week and made 100 million ISK, not counting loot...and I was only half-assing it the first day. -Wrayeth
