I don't think you so much hit upon a nerve so much as a logical fallacy. As Ngoa pointed out, miners arent exactly known for either their ability to effectively organize or pvp.... Don't get me wrong , I doubt very much that the alliance mentioned in this thead will be much of a threat (based on what I've seen of the chatlogs anyway) I am happy , however to be proved wrong.

I'm just pointing out the weakness in the Ice War , in that everyone simply assumes that the miners will just take the ganking and not attempt to fight back. That is a huge assumption to make (I remember a time when Goons assumed that their sov bills were being paid , look where that got you).
Imagine if they did organise, hire a load of mercs , war dec and pick you off as you came into high sec. It would make life a tad difficult for you. All it would need then is for a null sec alliance to attack your home territories at the same time and....
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it. |

Open Eve.
Go to the corporations tab.
Go to the wars tab.
Go to other wars.
Type in "Goonswarm Federation" and hit search.
Select them and look at the active wars.
Surprise! They're already wardecced by pretty much every merc entity out there, looking for cheap ganks in Jita / Amarr / etc.
Somehow. Just ... somehow .. they're still around.

The Orphanage is a somewhat decent merc corp. Privateers aswell, Moar Tears are good. They can't do anything to us (anything that will matter much, I mean) though. The only merc alliance that may be a problem to us is PL. And that's only because of their supercapital fleet.
And btw, the funny thing is that if you really want to form up a good alliance and be annoying to us, you need to have lots of members actively fighting. In order to have "lots of members" against us, you need to either have them all going in an alliance (That will be hard, you have to convince a whole truckload of corporation to follow rules and such), or you're going to pay ++berhuge amounts of War fees because of the 15 alliances wardeccing us at the same time.
Also, if we really want to mess with you guys, we will just form empty alliances with random alts, wardec GSF so the price to wardec GSF on top of those empty wardecs will be even higher.

Quick Tip to This New Alliance of the Willing against the Goons Ice War.
Move everyone... and I mean EVERYONE to a single good Ice system.
Mass the Macks in the System mining the ICE belt to nothing.
Cover the system with combat ready PvPers
Load up the mining fleet with some logistics
Get all that ICE product on the market and undercut the crap out of the goons Ice product market.
This campaign is not about your tears. It is about their corner on this ice product.
We have gone from spice to ice!!!!
Put the screws to the goons plan on the market and not on the battlefield!

I would definetly like to fight them :'(
Usually we like to crash on mothership fleets in lowsec (I mean, the fleet of highsec dwellers that forms up when they want to take down a lowsec incursion), and that's really fun. Especially when peoples take their finest faction battleship, which is pointless but funny for us.
If they manage to pull something like what they are talking about, I'm sure every GSF member would be entertained for quite a long time with those armor tanked ravens and such. |
