What skills and such affects rockets? Like does the crow's special ability work on it? And what missile skills works on it?

The crow's kinetic damage bonus and missile velocity bonus do affect rockets. The only missile support skill that does NOT affect rockets is guided missile precision...but then, rockets are meant to be frig killers, so they don't need it.
Rockets are close-in weapons. With maxed skills in both missiles, caldari frigs, and interceptors, the most range you can possibly get out of a rocket is about 15km. Generally speaking, it'll be more like 12km.
Rockets are fairly slow as far as missiles go; I suggest putting a web on any ship you use rocket launchers on. -Wrayeth

Rockets are currently overpowered due to fitting req/range

They're kinda the opposite of all the other missile types - the others do sub-par damage, and are worthless against anything under their own class (i.e. torp vs. cruiser will do little damage).
EDIT: Actually...I'd like to see DPS stats on rockets on a crow vs. blasters on a taranis. Ought to be interesting.
Also, as for fitting, rocket launchers are made to be fit onto caldari ships, which generally have less grid to start. -Wrayeth

Edited by: Dimitri Forgroth on 27/09/2005 14:51:15 Standard 3 t2 rocket launchers on a crow will reach 70dps or so, 80 or so with a bcu.
Calcs:
Maxed skills: 3 launchers * ( 25 base * 10% warhead upgrades * 50% ship bonus * 25% rockte skill ) / ( 3.2 base * 0.9 t2 spec * 0.85 rapid launch * 0.9 missile op ) = 154 burst / 2.2 rof =~ 70dps with thorn rockets. 47dps with others.
With 1 ballistic control: ( 154 * 1.07 ) / ( 2.2 * 0.925 ) = 80.97dps with thorn, 53.98 with others.

<--- rocket spec 5 and rapid launch 5 just awaiting warhead upgrades 5 and ill be at max dmg... i dont know how you can say they are overpowered tho gankaranis does almost 200dps while ganka crow with max skills does about 100dps kinda sad
imo rockets should do a lot more dmg or have an even better rof... or crow should get a better bonus...

CCP screwed up inty bonuses by removing all ROF and changing them to damage. For the crow in particular, whose only bonus is to kinetic dmg in particular, this means it does less dmg than before, and is poor with anything other than kinetic, which a simple hardener or AF/HAC is usually already protected against. Funny considering the main advantage of missiles is the ability to alter dmg type. I for one would be much happier if they got rid of the rubbish 50% kinetic dmg and changed it to -50% ROF, thus increasing dmg with any launcher/missile combination, just as all the turret ships already have, at the cost of increased ammo usage. It would mean finally being able to alter the dmg type to the enemies weakness, instead of "Oh look, a crow, better turn on the kinetic hardener" as it is now.
Alternatively, restrict gallente dmg bonuses to thermal only, Amarr to EM only and Minmatar to explosive. Then see how much the eve community likes that one.

That would be so amusing.

Was a mistake to make intys damage dealers to being with :P Kinda makes the AF obsolete.

DPS on a rocket crow is low compared to other intys, and the kinetic damage only makes it easy to tank. The only nice things with the crow is that it does equal damage everywhere from 12km to 0km.
And it can tank surprisingly well with a gistii sb and a nos.

WIth max skill about 10km + ship bonuses. Not to long, but works good in combination with webber and a 7.5km nos (and a sceambler in PvP).
A pity that CCP likes to force gallente and caldari to 1-2 damagetypes. EVE would be more fun if everyone could do equal damage with every damagetypes.

Another confused soul.
DPS ain't **** if your not able to get inside your optimal. Like every good pvper knows if you can't HIT your target what does dps matter? Rockets have the range of 125mm railguns with sntimatter but the fitting or electrons.
