It is with a sincerely heavy heart, that I must withdraw KIA from our current contract.
An internal split, which was developing b4 this contract, has finally erupted.
KIA has lost no fewer than 10 core members in the last few days, and as such we simply cannot fulfill this contract in the manner we know our employer, and our own selves, deserve.
Having spoken to our employer, we have decided this course of action to be taken.
I take full and unequivable responsibility for this situation, and no blame lies anywhere else but at my own feet.
KIA will be taking stock for the next couple of weeks, and then decide on the path we must take to ensure happyness for our corp members.
My deepest apologies to our Employer, and my open apologies to BoB, thank you for a smackless and respectful engagement, we only wish that we could of offered you the fight that KIA have been known for.
Flame away I guess.

If the KIA guys I know from beginnig are still in control, I know that it will rise again to be a PvP force to be reckoned with. The guys I know in KIA are good PvPers, beyond reproach.
I looked at the recent bloodbath on the BoB killboards and noticed that ALL of those slaughtered were names I did not know. This indicates to me that an influx of "non-KIA worthy" members has happened. Growing large is not always growing better. KiaEDDZ, I know you will fix this.
KKIAEddz, KiaGarpy, KisStumpy, ARTEGG (dude I miss you), and many other of those friends I made in KIA early on need to take back control, because they would have not let this happen.
KIA is one of Eve's "staples" when it comes to PvP and I am sure that things will be sorted out and you will return to the battlefield in victory once again.
You guys ROCK in my book, always.

Sorry to hear that Eddz, for KIA, your employer and indeed, BoB. It's always a hard thing when a dedicated crew looses a number of players for whatever reason, can really take the heart out of both your battle line and your players.
Best of luck in the coming weeks getting the handle back on KIA and I hope you get those nancy boys back from WoW!

Same happened to us, we lost bout 10 of our really good pvpers to RL and were left with new recruits and lower skill point ppl..... while they tried very hard, they just couldnt keep our corp at the lvl we were used to.. they also couldnt compete with the blobs that ppl are insisting in being part off. Where did all the skill go?.

You were not even remotely involved and you have to start the flamebaiting and additionally state you expect future flames?
And no, there were no "heavy losses". Some losses, but not heavy so there's no reason to believe those played any major part in this. You won't see any of us going to claim our kills made any difference.

Uhmm darth, with all due respect and stuff, most of these losses came from BNC engagement which, by how it looks on fraps recordings, was more than even... so please, don't spin? :/

A conciderable number of "Old School" KIA have not been playing for nearly six Months now.
At times Eve seemed like a second job trying to get people organised and keep people happy, when all we wanted to do was have fun and blow people up. Maybe one day the old days will return, and we will be laughing at InkZ's n00bishness again.
A lot of people may see EddZ as an arrogant SOB, but he is rightly proud of what he created with KIA. And the people who wanna flame him for it make baby Jesus cry.
To the guys who have recently left KIA. Thanks for all you time and effort. You made us proud. EddZ and the "old School" KIA. Thanks for all the memories. You made this game worth playing for me. Thanks.

As one of the players who was on the receiving end in the two engagements in question  , I can confirm that we were slightly outnumbered in the first and more or less equal, in terms of numbers, in the second. They were not ganks. My respect goes to the BOB guys I "met" for a smack free "war" and their fighting abilities.

sheesh... i didnt flame, im saying KIA dont have the numbers as they had already confirmed, i can relate to that as the same thing happened to us..
killing ppl by ganking is perfectly ok.. its hard for small corps to compete when they dont have the numbers.
dont dictate to me what i can or cannot write. some are so bitter they see things that are not even there. now keep it real and respect what others have to say.

This is not directed towards anyone, so take it as you will:
Unless you've ever tried to run or be part of a serious Merc outfit, you have no ground to stand on when it comes to flaming Eddz or the core fighters of KIA. Being the CEO or a long time member of a dedicated merc corp is one of the hardest jobs in the game.
Just look at the number of "merc corps" who have come and gone. There are very few who have stood the test of time and stayed true to the path. From the top on down, KIA was a shining example of how to do things right.
Major kudos to Eddz for doing what he always does: come out and honestly tell the community what the deal is.
Eddz, myself and the MC wish you nothing but the best. Hopefully you can get things back on track. If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.

I was hoping, praying and expecting an attack from the famous KIA Dreadnaughts. We wanted to test defence for a change and drilled and prepared a lot for it.

Props to KIA for taking the contract in the first place.
That was a brave move, which may not have paid off in the end, but man it was balsy.
KIA put up some good fights, and kept trying.
I hope Imperium don't start smacking KIA, because they could learn a thing or two from them.

My view of this contract:
We have most of our people in 0.0 space, and anyone in empire space treats it as 0.0 when an empire war is active.
That means to either travel in a fast ship, use a scout in anything bigger or move in groups (again with good scouting).
That is why losses on our side were kept to a minimum and pretty much all of them were due to (consensual) PvP engagements.
KIA are not new players either, they have some good PvPers. |

The problem with looking at kill-mails is that they make all fleet kills look like ganks.
Everyone is working on taking down the enemy one ship at a time, so the mail shows one ship killed with lots of parties involved. This gives the impression that the ship was alone, no matter what size fleet it was part of.

Darth, c'mon man, as a pvp outfit you KNOW that, if you get ganked, you made a mistake and deserved it. You also know that it is quite within the realms of possibility that any force that engages another, with equal numbers but literally ZERO support, isn't going to be able to hold the enemy down and is gonna die in droves because they can warp out.
Don't let your personal opinion of BoB cloud your perception of things that happened, you're better than that.

I was in most of the engagements with KIA and the smack free local was a refreshing change from some encounters i have been in on. I hope you guys get it sorted, and thanks for the fun in the skirmishes we had.
Hope to see you guys back and contracting again when the time is right. I went and picked flowers for about 5 months in WoW, but then the game runs a touch dry, and the call of EVE will happen again  . GL in any of your gaming adventures.

If the KIA guys I know from beginnig are still in control, I know that it will rise again to be a PvP force to be reckoned with. The guys I know in KIA are good PvPers, beyond reproach.
I looked at the recent bloodbath on the BoB killboards and noticed that ALL of those slaughtered were names I did not know. This indicates to me that an influx of "non-KIA worthy" members has happened. Growing large is not always growing better. KiaEDDZ, I know you will fix this.
KKIAEddz, KiaGarpy, KisStumpy, ARTEGG (dude I miss you), and many other of those friends I made in KIA early on need to take back control, because they would have not let this happen.
KIA is one of Eve's "staples" when it comes to PvP and I am sure that things will be sorted out and you will return to the battlefield in victory once again.
You guys ROCK in my book, always.

Always a shame to see any corp with a long and rich history go through troubled times. On a personal level for a long time now BNC and KIA have had a little bit of friendly(ish!) rivalry and we have a healthy respect for KIA. Indicative of the relationship is the fact that we've several senior KIA players joining BNC, despite the fact we've been hostile to each other for well over a year now.
It's a great shame that you weren't on top form for this contract as we'd have loved pitting our best against yours and making a real fight of it. These things happen from time to time though and on behalf of all at BNC we hope you get back on your feet, rebuild and live up to your reputation.
We were going to war dec you straight back again when the contract ended but I guess that won't be necessary now.

Err... frankly no I won't 'stop flaming Darth', he had an indirect pop at my corporation and it was totally unjustified. The fights he referred to were far from the type of fight where a number of people just hitting F1, F2, F3.. would have been sufficient.
We have been respectful to KIA throughout this episode and then someone uninvolved jumps in with no knowledge of what actually transpired and gets it totally wrong. He deserves pulling up for it, as I would expect him to do to me if it happened in reverse.

Much respect to KIA for taking the contract in the first place, and even more for fielding some good battles. Sorry to hear about your internal troubles, i have a freind or two in kia, and we were really hoping for a full-on conflict.
As too the battles that were had, they were far from ganks (at least fights i was in), the primary engagement we were outnumbered severely in BS, but had the advantage of full support - a classic case of eve strategy at its best, it couldve gone either way.
I personally had a great time, there was no smak at all from either side, only respect and sportsmanship. I wish KIA the best in its time of trouble, and hope to see you in full force doing what we all know you do best soon. GF KIA.

Im now getting called a smacker?, huh?... i just said some things that i seen.. i looked at the BOB killboard, seen alot of KIA deaths and not alot of kills, i presumed this was because KIA had very few numbers and were being overpowered by BOB, as the topic title/post would lead us all to believe...
i cant believe u are trying to dictate what i post.. just because i do not have a BOB/5 alliance logo under my name does not mean im not allowed to post on these forums.. iv been using them long before most of u, and prob will be long after ur gone...

I've seen DBP post, and though.. oh my.. now this thread - despite of it having nothing to do with bob or imp - will be turned into a bob-imp flame fest. It didnt happen, and i sighed with relief.. After all, if not even DBP can do it, then there is noone on earth capable of doing it.

First off just want to send my props to Ed and KIA. During my employment with KOS, flying with you guys was some of the best times I've had in Eve.
Second, Eddz did seem to come across TS as a aragant SOB, but hey, sometimes you have to be like that to get your point across and to keep your fleet incheck, and I had no problems with that about him.
Last, I've been through what KIA is going through, with Celts and KOS. Funny how when you have to step back and NOT look at the big picture, but focus on the one thing infront of you (your corp), and do what's best for it, you get called cowards or backstabbers, and then when you try to explain yourself even though your not obligated to do so, the smack starts flying. If I were in Eddz shoes, I would have done the same thing.
Nuttin' but love for ya Eddz and KIA. I'm sure you know who your friends are in this game. Don't hesitate to call on 'em if you need 'em.

Some of the best times I have had in Eve were flying with KIA, TS was always a right laugh - making Overcopes sing = classic - Clash drunken ramblings - Iratus setup advice line - Eddz b*ollocking everyone - Gilad sex talk - I could go on and on
