Makari Aeron wrote:Hmm...now the launcher won't update at all or check for verification. There's no golden loading bar at the bottom. I can input my username/password, but nothing else. I cannot even close the launcher without terminating the process. There is no log file.
EDIT: and now it works just fine. Weird.
Weird indeed. I can confirm everything you said tho, the new Launcher is acting up somewhat.
I am using wine 1.5.30 with a new prefix, no additional packages were installed, no overrides, no shenanigans. Launcher Version as of the writing of this post is V.2.1.533100-beta.
After the first installation, the launcher came up automatically without the /server:singularity parameter, thus showing the current tranquility launcher website. I then closed it and started it again with the correct parameters. I then either got this funky Error -7 instead of the login form, missing images in the bottom left corner, the launcher is not verifying the game (rare) or a seemingly random combination of those things.
However, after a dozen or so tries it finally worked and I could launch the game, the client came up just fine and without any errors on the console. I had to accept the EULA again and got the following error, despite Singularity being shown as "OK" with over 200 players online:
"Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."
As far as the launcher itself goes: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Here's a debug.log for you:
Quote:[0512/124337:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(111)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 8 [0512/124409:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "The page at about:blank displayed insecure content from cef-error:. ," source: (1) [0512/124409:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL cef-error: from frame with URL https://client.testeveonline.com/launcherv3/en?steam_token=&server=tranquility. Domains, protocols and ports must match. ," source: (1)
Note, that the second and third log entries (cef-error) do NOT occur when the login form works for once.

More wine stuff, launcher V.2.1.534643-beta.3 with the new cacert.pem.
CCP Aporia wrote:Something for our Wine users we've discovered during our internal Mac debugging: There seems to be an issue with the certificates file we are shipping with the new launcher which only showed on Mac but not on native Windows. It might be worthwhile trying to replace the certificate file found in the (launcher path)/appdata/EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.(version)-beta.3.win32 folder with a more recent one, for example with the one located at http://curl.haxx.se/ca/cacert.pem - hope this helps. :-) Alternately, wait for the next launcher update as it will include a more recent certificate bundle.
It does not seem like that fixes it, the login form still does the -7 error thing most of the time and the sliding ads (Buddy program, Fanfest stream) are not loading correctly. I do have two new entries in the debug.log though, so I might be doing it wrong:
debug.log wrote:[0514/221226:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1660)] Messed up entry found. [0514/221226:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1946)] Destroying invalid entry.
I can also confirm pretty high CPU usage. The launcher alone uses 100% of one of my six cores while doing nothing at all.
Fake edit: Deleting the client settings seemingly got rid of the "invalid entries", login form problem still persists tho. Complete debug log still looks like this:
debug.log wrote:[0514/221711:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(111)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 8 [0514/221743:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "The page at about:blank displayed insecure content from cef-error:. ," source: (1) [0514/221743:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL cef-error: from frame with URL https://client.testeveonline.com/launcherv3/de?steam_token=&server=tranquility. Domains, protocols and ports must match. ," source: (1) |

Thanks for the lead. Does the launcher use the awesomium.dll by any chance? Could it have something to do with it? |

Aiori wrote:starting the launcher with /server:87.237.38.50 but still no "play" button. the play button i was referring was the one in the lower right corner of the window but not the one after u type the user name and password. pls bring it back. its very hard to login an account one by one unlike before, u can open clients simultaneously. still have to click switch account. and setting configuration while in the client login screen helps alot.
Seems you have installed the current sisi patch, but not the new launcher. Read the OP again and download the launcher, it's a separate installer. |

There is not supposed to be a play button in the lower right in the new launcher. The new launcher has a login form in the top left and it will change to a play button once you log in. I guess that might be a problem for Multiboxing, true. |

Mistress Lilu wrote:why are you guys posting something when you know you have not tested it, and let people download it. I dont f'en get it. clicked on sisi launcher, updates, installs a new launcher and now the stupid thing does nothing, no new launcher thing, just the ccp log server window and nothing else. Thanks fellas, for f'ing up my comp and my game. test your stuff before making it public.
"testserver", "beta version" ... don't use those, if you want something that is well tested. the whole point of a test server is testing stuff. |

Yeah, what a dickmove. I could understand you having it on the testserver, but this thing is still a pile of crap and you know it. At the very least it's far from being ready for TQ. |

After getting afforementioned error message, the client (not the launcher, despite exactly that being it's job) told me that there is a new patch and offered to install it. The client closed itself and called the patcher, which downloaded some stuff and then errored out as well, proposing I should try the repair tool. So I did, and now when I start eve, I get told, that the "content server" is not available but I may start eve anyway. (gee, thanks)
Eve works now, but the launcher doesn't even pop up. So, almost working as intended, I guess? |

Agreed. As it stands, the only thing that this new launcher actually adds is support for your single sign-on idea. Everything else is at least a step back from what we had at some point in the past. |
