You are trying to train a rank 4 skill to level 5 ... that just takes time Training your learning skills to level 5 may help you a bit but keep in mind training these 4 or 5 skills to level 5 will take u roughly 30-40 days hehe. So I m not entirely convinced the above idea will help you alot It may however be worthwhile training all of them to lvl 4 which only takes less then 2 days per skill and you may actually notice some difference with your ITeron V skill but also other skills.
Somewhere around here on the forums is a nice calculation that training learning skills to lvl 5 is hardly worthwhile unless training skills for some years

train ur amarr indy skill to lvl 4 and use the bestower, ull save alot on thoses 44 days of training that can be put into more usefull things, such as navigation skills The difference between iteron 5 and bestower lvl 4 indy is minimal but the training time isnt

Edited by: Toom Tabard on 01/08/2003 14:01:23 Rank 4 level 5 takes me 13 days with learning lvl 5 and all attribute skills level 4, in the long run training up those learning skills wiil save you good time.
Ack, actually I can't remember what rank I'm training right now as I'm in my traveling season, and I can't log back on until Aug. 10th, so that may not have been the most accurate example.
But I do know that in the long run, training up those learning skills is worth it.

Unreal, i just ran into the same choice a few days ago: Training to Gal indy 5 (something on the tune of a month), or going for a bestower. I went for the bestower cuz it can run a MWD and is damn near as good as the Iteron 5, for about 97% less training time. And if you want more cargohold, just jack up amarr indy a few levels (you can run a bestower at level 1 indy btw, it seriously outclasses any other indy at that level; major bug IMHO). ----------------------------------------------

its true level 5 iteron takes a long time but if they ever put titans back in eve the gellent one needs level 5 industrial so im willing to do it just in case they do bring back the titans.

haha....a iteron mk V is a cross between the badger II and a bestower....the bestower is a cross between a warehouse and a piece of paper :Ì

I fly a Bestower simply because I'm only a part-time indy pilot and don't want to spend the time to get a Badger II or <shudder> Iteron 5. It's an awesome trade ship, but the thin film of tinfoil laughingly referred to as a shield does NOT make it a good choice for deep space mining support...
The Iteron 5 is THE best indy around. It has the best shields, huge cargo, lots of slots, and when fitted with expanders can outdo even a Bestower with L5 skill. But unless you plan to spend most of your time flying indies I'd say go for the Bestower or Badger 2 and save a lot of training.

33 days with learning 4 and all other learning skills 3
Dont forget that you can put a mwd on iteron 5, thats the best thing about it in my opinion.
The worst thing however is using my iteron4. The powergrid on it sucks and the cargo isnt really too much better than iteron 3. I sold my iteron 3 to get my iteron 4 and wish i never had done that.

You can put a MWD on a Bestower too...
Why do I get this funny feeling there's a rather large nerf bat headed my way every time I fly my Bestower?

I've stopped training Gall Indy at Level 2 since an Iteron Mark II with 3800 cargo is enough to get me by when I personal haul. I rarely Corp haul in it, since many have higher Gall Indy or Bestower skill. I've seen the light in the Bestower. Starting out at Level 1 you get 3500 Cargo and to top that many low slots to drop 15% Cargo Expanders in. My other cohorts made the switch and at Leve 1 with all low slots filled they are piloting a Bestower with 7100 Capacity.
I would train Gall Indy higher, but level 5 takes a while to train and you only get 4000 cargo to start and very few low slots compared to Bestower. What really sets the Bestower apart is EVERY level you train Amarr Indy you get a 5%..yes 5% Cargo Capacity Increase! If you take the time to train it to just Level 4 which is reasonable for a rank4 skill, you've just gained a 20% increase on your max cargo hold.
Let's do a little math here if you start with all low slots as 15% expanded and can carry 7100 at Level 1 how much a difference that makes at Level 4:
Intial: 7100 Level 2: 7100 + 5%(7100) = 7455 Level 3: 7455 + 5%(7455) = 7827.25 Level 4: 7827 + 5%(7827) = 8218.35
It may only be +1120 increase to cargo, but still is that not great? And that is only if your using 15% Basic Expanders! Imagine this with 18% or 20+%! I know Bestowers that can tow 10-11k...do yourself and your corp a favor buy Amarr Frig and Amarr Indy skill ASAP!

Bestower with lvl 5 amarr indy skill and 4 40% cargo expanders (which are out there, extremely rare), beats iteron 5.
Good day.

Good day.
Care to post some details? Such as what the cargo capacity actually is with the setup you've described?
Iteron Mk V with 5 Beta hull mod should give 9953.28 m3 cargo space (give or take for math errors since I didn't have a calculator handy at the time)

Add same expanders to the iteron mk 5 and then 1 more....then look who beats who.

It is not wise to stick with same race if you can save over 1 month of training to get the same hauling capacity. Train Amaar indy up to lvl 4 and use 18% expanders and haul capacity of 8142. Use that for a month while you train up for Iteron Mark V.
I agree that the Iteron Mark V is the ultimate hauling vessel thus far, but the amount you can haul in a Bestower with level 4 industrial skill cannot be matched when you factor in training time. My advice is to train Amaar first, then go for the Iteron.
Your Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I perfectly strikes Asteroid (Veldspar) [R0ME], wrecking for 798.3 damage.
Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes Guardian Captain, wrecking for 685.9 damage.

hmm, why do you even bother? train to amarr indy lvl 4 and use it till the titans are in the game, if you train to mark V youll only be able to use it for 1-2 months before the titan comes (i hope) its just a waste of time because youll only get like 1000 more or so in cargo with 25% expanders, i have a bestower with 10k in cargo, and i think thats enough, even if you are a serious hauler you could train other skill instead... beat it! |

I suppose I could use a Bestower, but can I say cookie cutter?
Besides I want to use the Iteron MK5.
I see what everyone is saying about the training time etc. but it really doesnt bother me as this is a character on a hauling account.
Can anyone point me in the direction of the nice little skill training time gadget? ----------------------- Cold Fusion Inc. Website |

I prefer minmatar indies, myself. I'd rather go with a little less cargo space and not have to wait twenty minutes for the thing to dock =) --------

Yeah I have a miner/hauler/refiner account which I added later on, aiming for Iteron 5 as well for him.

For me, it was 23 days with all learning skills at lvl 4. The most important attribute here is perception. Training your Spatial Awareness skill to lvl 4 should save you several days on Gallente Indy lvl 5.
