Putting the event over the top of an existing event - fair enough, they have their own time frame to consider. I'm sure they planned this well in advance, and it wasn't a brain fart of a dev a few days beforehand. The mistakes start to compound when they then move their own devhacks spawned fleet into lowsec . Someone was always going to kill them, be in Snuff, SC, or PL, or any other random scrubs. They were going to die in lowsec during the "kings of lowsec" competition. The issue then had to occur that they had directly influenced the result of the contest, either by allowing their kills to count, or as they have subsequently chosen to not allowing them to be counted. Someone was always going to be upset. If they'd have run into a PL fleet, they'd have died just as easily. The CCP fleet and pods were worth an amount of isk, you can't change that fact, the fact that they were dev spawned doens't mean they do not have a resale value, it just means they were hacked into the game. CCP should never have been in lowsec, then they wouldn't have had to have had to amend the rules after the fact, and wouldn't have to then change the technical outcome of the competition. Had CCP not been in lowsec would Snuff have gone into the Nyx system eariler, before the gates were locked down? Would they have farmed some or all of the 1000 rifters and whored the free SC kill? Would they have found another expensive fleet to fight and kill? Maybe. The only fact is CCP acted stupidly.
