Sit the recommended distance from your screen in a well lit room and look away from the animation when it runs. Also take breaks every 30-60 minutes.
If you experience nausea during video games especially flashing images, shaking screens, it is indicative of an epilepsy spectrum disorder and you should seriously limit the amount of time looking at flashing and moving images. You could end up forcing out serious complications such as full blown fits.
CCP should consider a disable button for people with an epilpsy spectrum disorder. Even if it is just a black screen. |

I don't get motion sickness from games usualy but i immeditely got the suspicion that the new effect will cause physical problems to some players.
This should be taken serious. No reason to make condescending remarks. It affects many people. Even some F1 drivers can't use their teams simulators because it makes them sick. |

So, disabling camera shake turns off the camera spin cycle at the end of the jump sequence?

The new effect is horrible and annoying. And I thought CCP couldn't do worse than the annoying retribution aggro noises (eve has sound?).

I think the issue is with your health and not anything to do with jump animation. If you threw up two times and had motion sickness then I would be quite worried that you are medically ok. |

The new gate jump animation should be made optional. I find it annoying already and the first thing I did was look for the option to turn it off which doesnt exist.
I just want to go to the gate, jump, load the next system and move on. I don't need to see the camera zoom away from my ship to the gate, the warp animation, and the camera zooming back onto my ship. We'll be walking in stations next |

If you want an ugly loading bar instead of awesome graphics then yes, maybe this should be option. Walking in stations? Would that really be such a bad thing? I think at this point, it's damn annoying that the door doesn't open. And for those that don't like or don't want that kind of thing, never have to use it or see it. Just stay in ship hangar. That simple. |

so jumping now takes longer plus the grafic isnt that cool after the second jump
few changes which should be made * why am i not allowed to have my chat windows while i jump, let me type
* dont change the focus on my ship, i zoomed out completely and after every gate jump i have to do that again, i dont need to see my ship over the whole monitor |

Jumping is actually a bit shorter now.
Even if they give you a fancy warp-tunnel animation during system changes, a system change is still a session change and you can't type during those. They're not fundamentally changing the way travel works, they're simply changing how it looks.
This is the same reason why we still have gate cloak. |

Warp drive is a straight line. When you jump now and then come out of the gate, the loading grid zooms in suddenly then the camera does this pan/swivel around to face the gate you just arrived at, and it got to me too.
If it just loaded grid without that extra swivel in there, it would be a lot easier to take. |

Actually it takes the same amount of time.
I too want the UI to stay put during jump.
And yeah like I said above + OP the camera motion is way too busy. |

To be honest i don't see how this is very much affecting people. As was suggesting, keep your room well lit. One thing to note that may help is when you jump DONT look at the screen. Instead, look at your keyboard or screen edge. Secondly, don't play on a larger screen.
Right now the new jump animation is integrated into the actual jumping system so you either have it or you don't there is no way to have a choice to disable it or not because its not being driven from an option in your client...its part of the actual coding in the game on the server side. Camera shake is something your client renders and drives as you warp which is why you can disable it.
So you have two options here: A) You can keep the animation integrated and please the majority or B) you can take it out and please a minority. This game is just a game, its not essential to your existence so feel free to unsub if you cant take the animation, because quite frankly the rest of us who can love it. |

So, I jumped more than 20 Gates Yesterday, AND BELIEVE ME that's special for PL. But there is NO motion sickness ore any misbehavior after it. You just should control your Game Environment. Maybe your Monitor is to old and Blur the pixels a lot. Or you have a problem with your Eyes and brain coordination. I recommend a Epilepsy test for you guys, if that happens. |

This ^^ These changes makes EVE so much realistic and better.. After jump or anywhere really (undocking) it really feels like you've entered a new space or different environment (system) especially with the camera spin. Awesome work on all of this CCP |

Hell, to keep people from being sick or happy we should replace ship models with basic shapes.
Why have a UI? We should just have status bars.
Loadouts can be a grid instead of the circle interface.
We should remove nebulae and stars... a black screen would be simple and all we need.
In fact I got it... let's just make the ships the colored dots you see when zoomed out.

I would support the option of a black overlay during jumping. That can easily be rendered client side to block out the effects.
I enjoy the new animation, but I remember a couple years ago having a rather nauseating incident with a different game. Motion sickness or what I don't know, but it was definitely as a result of the disorientating nature of the gameplay.
It wouldn't take much to have a fade to black option to simply hold out on the graphical side for those who don't want it, fading back in when the scanner would start spinning in the new system. |

You absolutely do not have motion sickness from this.
Motion sickness takes longer than 4 seconds, and with extremely rare cases you need visual steadiness AND vestibular movement.
If the jump effect gave you motion sickness, you would experience the same discomfort watching the vast majority of TV, and also while casually warping your ship in eve. In addition, you would not be able to play any first person shooter game without feeling ill.

Indeed, and I would add to that...the act of being motion sick due to visual acuity is very very low in the populous. The most common forms of motion sickness are derived from the actual physical movement of one's body. If you are of the few individuals who experience physical discomfort from visually rapid changing environments, I would suggest not focusing on the screen during the process. |

i could see the pan getting old too, maybe just rotate around the ship to the direction of the jump rather than refocus completly. you could preserve the camera distance from the ship and all. Down with NeX! |

Change is scary.
Temptation to over dramatize is strong. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |
