To answer your question, shooting people is the reason we play this terrible game. If you don't like it, GENTS might not be for you. If you have any further questions, please contact me on jabber, because there's no way in hell I'm going to read eight pages of badposting.
Don't forget the part where he decides to escalate to insulting ISD's, bittervets, members of super-alliances that are friendly to GENTS, and even a couple of B-list EVE celebrities (of which I am 2 out of four). A goon being embarrassed by being associated with someone else... now THAT, quite literally, is the funniest thing I've read on this thread yet.
You are going to single-handedly get your entire alliance set to red by the Goons, and I am going to laugh at you for what happens in the ensuing debacle. Rage some more, little nooblet.... Yes, Haulie..... you can manual post to BC, before their system pulls your killmails from your API. Everyone knows that.

This thread is pretty funny.
Anyways, hypothetically if it was me shooting this OP this would be why.
As a realitive newbie it would mean that I was on one of my first nullsec roams. Me going to nullsec is pretty much me sticking a sign on my back. NOT BLUE TO ANYONE HERE SHOOT ME. I of course would be looking for people to shoot because not only surviving but actually killing someone in NULL would be a challenge. If I happened upon someone and thought I could take them I would give it a whirl. If I died. Woo! Still exciting.
Now if I didn't die the OP would be my first kill in Null that I survived and that would be cool.
That's it really. For someone that doesn't live in NULL the only reason to go there is to do a mission arc and/or try to survive while looking for people, anything will do to shoot, because it's has it's own set of challenges in comparison to other areas.
I like PVE, I also sometimes like to shoot actual people. Null is pretty much a 'Shoot or be shot' kinda place. Not really sure why there is even a question about it. It is Null. |

Thank you. -OP gets killed, comes to the forums to make the usual whine thread. -Makes a massive write up about how little he cares about getting killed. -Tries to disguise his whine thread with a question "why do people kill people" Gets answers he doesnt like. -OP Gets upset and argues with everyones logic, calls everyone trolls and resorts to acting like a child. Its actually a pretty good read. OP is bat ****. You shoud check it out. He doesnt care. He didnt want that drake anyways. In all seriousness, you need help dude.
Not once have you displayed an ounce of personal responsibility for your choices and actions. You keep trying to hide behind "other people are bad and are trolls and I'm a victim", which just invites more people to ridicule you. And you deserve that ridicule.
You've done some dumb things in game (and then post about them while lying through your teeth about how you don't care lol), and rather than ask "how can Asmodai Xodai keep this from happening again" you retreat into some mental wonderland where losing isn't losing, you didn't want that drake or ratting isk anyway and people telling you the truth are trolls.
Try to not be so clueless and maybe you'd get along better with people. |

Heh, I wish I had the power. Well, maybe not, I quite love Lake and Kesper (sorry Malcanis, I had Kesper above you on my CSM list, don't hate me), so I wouldn't want to damage our top-hatted, monacle-wearing brothers. Absolutely epic. Had to dock up to refill my popcorn. Very rare.
Given that this sorry chap is now actively using "trollface" and other assorted under-12s insults (including the highly effective "I have had sexual activity with your mother" line), I think I'll call it now. The story is quite standard, unremarkable, and boring. I was doing the standard hunting of carebears in nullsec, using a good ship. Had local chat pulled up, of course. Was sniffing around when a couple of hostiles appeared in local chat. I noticed it instantly, but was also close to falling asleep. Decided to go for it, as it was only going to be another 10 seconds or so to see if I could catch him. I then appeared in his anomaly, at what I considered to be fairly far away (more than 20km and outside of my scram range). He tried to "warp out" to the nearest station but I just burned at him and overheated scram as fast as I could. He almost made it out - in fact the ship was almost aligned. Of course, I closed the distance really fast and managed to hit him with my short range warp scrambler, dropping him out of warp. I had a couple of buddies who then warped in, and long story short, he was dead.
Again, not particularly interesting or remarkable at all, and completely "standard." So I will continue on to my question.
Why do these guys engage in this sort of activity? They are playing a dumbed-down version of the game so they don't understand basic mechanics, and all they can see is money. His clone spawned one jump away. It just took a couple of clicks to set up another clone, stick in more el 'cheapo implants, collect his insurance payment, and jump into another shitfit ship. Also, he only had 110,000 ISK bounty on him, which is from Jercy Fravowitz.
If you engage in this sort of activity, I'm curious. Pray tell. What's the payoff, or benefit to you, to expend the time and energy to do this? Do you actually enjoy mindlessly clicking red crosses in ships you consider worthless and completely replaceable? Do you generally find anything of value, and do these carnival prizes give you a better feeling of satisfaction from the game than the ultimate triumphing over another player? These are honest questions, by the way.
No, these aren't tears. No, I don't want anything changed or nerfed in the game. Yes, please continue to play the game as you wish to play it. I'm just curious about an activity which seems to have no fun or return on investment from my perspective. Since I wouldn't really engage in anything that doesn't have fun, I'm curious why others do. I'm guessing there is something I'm missing, therefore I'd like to know what it is.
