I never knew there was a goon fleet, I wish I could have joined up an alt or something. Oh well...

The GH-SC war was a ton of fun. Except for the time I was running for a new ship and my hard disc started swapping like mad as Istvaan warped in and sent some missiles streaking towards my pod.

because attacking wcs-loaded aligned snipers 150km off a station is so effective

Smacktalk? HA, your a funny little man. Why the hell should we stay out of this thread? Obviously we played a large role in why half your corp left in 5 days. If you want some smacktalk pull up some of your old local chat logs, though the smack was poor it was there.
He was giving the history of Goonfleet over two years time dude, you are a speck in that history so you really need to stop demanding to take place in this discussion. This thread is not about you, or the very small amount of time you interacted with us. Get over it please! The mods told you to stop, so would you please stop? We do not want this thread locked.

The value of this thread dropped to nothing as soon as I read the greatly exaggerated inacuracies regarding our involvement and the monetary comparisons.
We're mercs, we're PAID to be effective not friendly or fair. Not only were we effective monetarily, but we were still making money during the war while you were incurring loss after loss after loss.
Moral can be much more powerfull than money so I would like to thank you as I think you may have been as effective or more so at killing the morale of your corp members by sending them out to certain death while you attempted to gain the advatage necessary to get yourself a few kills.
Victory was not realized when your ships were destroyed, it was obtained when you stopped sending out ships to be destroyed because at this point we knew that you had realized it too. Before we came along you were using your station as a base of operations, by the time we left you were using it as a hiding place.
In the words of Sun Tzu "Victory is not felt in the pockets of the citizen but in the heart of the soldier. Defeat however is felt in both."
You can continue to make excuses and complain about our tactics, but where is the 170 man GoonFleet now?

half of them have quit (which is probably a much better ratio than all other trial accounts) and the rest are in npc corps where they won't be constantly station camped by wcs loaded sniping pansies who get off on killing newbies

Actually, as a merc corp, you can really only declare victory if your campaign achieved what you were paid to do. If 3FA were your bosses then you failed because the raids continued to hapen and make kills. If, as many of us suspect, you were hired by someone whose sole aim is to ruin anything one of our directors has a hand in then you also failed. GoonFleet attracted a large number of new, paying accounts to the game, exactly what it set out to do.

It appears that some people are too narrow mindied to notice the facts at hand.
1. Goonfleet used thier noobies as cannon fodder for thier own advancement. If you needed filler for this story why not compliment your recruits on thier persistence and perseverance as opposed to looking for personal recognition or trying to explain how sorry we are for killing you.
2. It took you 5 days to go from 60 members to 170 members. It took 3 days for us to put you back at 60ish members.
3. What is essential in war is victory, not prolonged operations. Someone please buy them a clue.

I think the people having a go at goonfleet are missing the point slightly, they seem to me to just be about new players having fun, not trying to prove how "leet" they are in pvp. So saying how you pwned them and killed however many of their ibis dosn't really give you much credit imo.
If you wanna impress people do it some other way

considering that goonfleet pays for all of the newbie frigates, modules, skills, etc. out of its own wallet, one would assume it would be perfectly acceptable to use the ships that we payed for as "cannon fodder".

There was no poetic justice or an "adjacent to the king" attitude involved really, the task was simply to attack. Goonfleet members became very scarce after the first couple of days, and their everyday activities were brought to a hault. That was a minor victory. The fleet using their own members as expendables was in our opinion a major one.
There were literally monsterous blobs of Goons large enough to bog down anyones pc in the begining, and by the third day no one would undock. That is a victory no matter how you word it.
Any attempt to turn this thread into some sort of escalated "good vs. evil" event is contribed. There was no extended vendetta, no drama.... nothing personal as the saying goes. It was a 3 day offensive from a massively outnumbered force holstering more SP. Goonfleet claims that their guys had fun during the war. I certainly hope this is true, it is a game afterall. GL guys

I dont think it was "good vs. evil", it was more akin to "Bunny rabbits vs. toasters"...there was no point to getting all those people out there apart from showing how bunny rabbits vs. toasters could be fun (rabbits vs. toasters doesnt have a point, which is my point).
Alot of people who were stuck in the rut of being miners and empire carebears, due to some part of the GoonFleet, are now addicted to the game, see the vast potential that EvE has to offer and will contribute more to the game than sitting in a 1.0 mining Veld. Events like that are what pushes the game beyond the perception of "Mining Sim_01 Game"
I am coming back because of this...is that a bad thing?
