Probably don't have the conquest mentality. BoB is about the only alliance that I can recall that actively destroys other alliances. One could say that makes BoB the ultimate pirate organization.

That would be like saying the US got invaded and everyone got kicked out of North America. But all the US citizens are in Europe now, so the US isn't dead.
If the alliance ceases to function where it was made to function, it is no longer a viable entity in it's orginal form. So it is indeed destroyed. Could they be rebuilt? Certainly, but till they are they are not what they were before they were conquered.
