I've yet to meet an actual pirate in this place. All I ever seem to see is some guy in a sniper setup popping ships as they come thru a gate just because he can. Wow, what an investment of skills. On rare occasions, I'll see someone come into a belt, but then it's just to kill and nothing more. In my opinion, most of those that call themselves "pirates" would do well to stop abusing the word and choose another one, like "griefer". Better yet, "lamer". I saw this time fast approaching, when others who don't like to be bothered by what the little kids are doing out in low sec are smartening up and finding new ways to get the minerals they need, or trade in safer space. Meanwhile, the complaints by so-called "pirates" are multiplying, and targets of opportunity are dwindling. My heart is breaking! Maybe it's finally time for some of you to review your career options and try something that lets you exercise a little brainpower instead of brute force. Yes, I know mining is boring...trading is boring...then why not true Pvp? I hear 0.0 is wild and empty, stop hugging Syndicate space, or lurking in low sec Empire and get out and see the world! But I'm betting you won't...the business of killing people just wouldn't be as fun and easy as it is right now...preying on noobs with weak ships and non-existent skills is, after all, a wonderful way to test that inner courage, sharpening that hand-eye coordination to a razor's edge

Where have all the cowboys gone? marco From my observations, the trend is for the experienced veteran cowboys to fix their security rating for 'legal' piracy within the empire, or pick up mercenary careers. I can see how being restricted to low security piracy gets old after several years. For those of you who were in favor of the security standings gain nerf, do you prefer if all of those pirates start to war dec pirate in your 'safe' systems instead? I think my definition of piracy is a bit different than the traditional one though. I think of a pirate more like a hard-core PvPer (ie..taking on long odds and winning). _______________________________________________

I am a pirate, or so i like to think. i find gate camping extremely boring and wont do it unless its an alliance op. I enjoy hunting people in low sec and actually using the scanner to find people! Scanner is your friend :-) I dont have a bounty.. please give me one ;p :D

The one glorifying ability in this game is to war and dispute areas of space against other people, whether they like it or not, since it steers clear of the still and stagnant waters that other mmorpgs have caused by damming up thier pvp options by including things such as Trammel or instances for example. Computer enemies are not what I look for in an mmorpg, and if I wanted something I could beat every time with my eyes closed, I wouldn't suffer the need to leave the comfort of my own bed. If you are afraid of pirates, stay out of < 0.4 and in the warm security blanket of the empire. And if you truly abhor all player contact, minimize your local chat and stay in empire under a npc run corp. Problem solved. Friend or Foe.....theres still a toll
