Just currious. Personally I wouldnt want to loose 2 years of realtime training. If they let me convert to the new bloodline then I might consider it. The reality is that this seems to be a feature for new players. Personally I would MUCH rather them spend some time on serious things like Player made kingdoms in 0.0, filing the Project Rebirth in some hole where it can never be found again and tech 2 destroyers. I personally see no need for yet another race in eve. Races are cosmetic since one can learn skills from every race if one wishes. --------- The words "Exciting" and "Safe" are mutually exclusive; pick one.

Perhaps practicing 'out of race' should have a training penalty? The only problem is this would moslty just affect combat, not labwhoring.

Edited by: Derisor on 13/10/2005 20:41:50 There is nothing to get a second account for unless you obsess over portraits. It seems to me to make this viable they would have to invent racial perks. Perhaps like so:
Gallente: 10% damage increase for hybrid turrets Amarr: 10% Damage for Laser turrets Minmatar: 10% damage for projectile turrets Caldari: 10% damage for kinetic missiles on thursday when raining in japan and sunny in the UK (just to keep it in line with current 'balance')

Oh come on, it is not like the new races are going to be ³ber in any way. The only reason people are upset is because they are curious to see what they are like.

That and the addition of bloodlines like the Khanid has some serious RP concequences... ------------------

Okay, lets analyze this for a moment...
After all the new patches, features, content, and all the advantages of being an old player, having CCP mold Eve to what it is today, and being part of all the changes made mainly for the current players... the old guys are now whining about a benefit finally for NEW people to have.
Shame on you.

I believe kieron or Oveur hinted that changing your character to one of the new races would be possible.

That would make a new race rather pointless wouldnt it? I mean if you wanted to play a new race, wouldnt it be for rolling up the first racial BS driver or some other "first". Why would I care if all it does is change my pic?

you got the Caldari one wrong.
It's 10% increased likelyhood of a 'balance' per patch.

So the new race wouldnt be so special as anyone could just convert to it. Insteading seeing few of these new race characters in eve, you would see a lot and anyone who think it would be just cool would convert to it. No thanks

I have spent over a year with this name, face and bloodline. I would feel disapointed in loosing it.
Anyway they are just new bloodlines, not like you will be a new race, with new ships and different skills.
The new Amarr one will be a scumbag just like the rest

These bloodlines are just like all the rest, added to each of the race.
The people that create the bloodlines are all outsourced artists what work in Maya. I don't want them to touch our code with a ten-foot pole! Our inhouse artist staff is working on 8 Carriers and 4 Titans atm. I think that should be sufficiently "kingdom'ish".
Content is working on 5 Tech 2 ships (Destroyer, Cruisers, Battlecruisers).
There will be no way to change into these Bloodlines. Their main purpose is to cater for players which are starting the game and want an asian look. _____________________________ "There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. Thanks Oveur. Asian look huh? Ok I see the reason for it now.
As for the carriers and titans, nice but they wont do much for kingdoms if alliances can not control access to their space. Unless alliances can seal off their controlled space, player made kingdoms are probably never going to happen. --------- The words "Exciting" and "Safe" are mutually exclusive; pick one.

So the Khanid, who have previously been described as rebel true Amarrians, are in fact a completely different race?

An Asian look?
Hmm, I suppose it could be argued for all those cases, although Khanid seems a little thin. You could adapt the fiction in that direction but the implied fiction argues towards Khanid looking like Amarrians... the fleet being Ni-Kunni and Khanids bagging most of the fleet for instance. You could change that to most of the *remaining* fleet being Ni-Kunni and the ones that fled were Khanid bloodline, I suppose!
Are the 8 carriers 2 per empire-group or are they split up more..? -==- Holy-Jim> as you know, surprise is the key to victory.....surprise! LooseCannoN> ahh! LooseCannoN> my plans have been foiled! |

"The Khanid Kingdom, also known as the Dark Amarr, was founded a few centuries ago when the last Amarr Emperor was chosen. Khanid was one of the royal heirs at the time and, in accordance with tradition, should have killed himself after failing to become emperor. This Khanid refused to do and split his vast domains from the Amarr Empire. The empire retaliated, but only managed to conquer some of the vulnerable outer regions from Khanid. The Kingdom still upholds many of the tradition of Amarr society, but has also wholeheartedly embraced the customs of others, mainly the Caldari. Many visitors to the Kingdom feel like it is a surreal mix of the Amarr and Caldari empires."
And I think we should wait till we actually see the new Bloodlines before you make judgement if they don't look Amarrian enough or not _____________________________ "There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight.
