Have i missed something or have CCP really not seen this thread as important enough to post some reassurance or even register their guess at what is causing the problem. It appears to be an interesting customer care policy, "ignore them and eventually they will go away". Please CCP, show some signs of interest.

Not one of those 300GB capped links right? If uncapped - I take back my previous statement hehe (but BBB is good most of my links are via them).

Please keep in mind that a large part of CCP is also preparing for fanfest, they canŠt be everywhere at the same place and fixing all problems in a blink of an eye.
I heart all, some more then others though. |

Edited by: Bettermine on 19/10/2005 17:15:56 Using the networkAdvanced=1, I changed my connection to instead of connecting via "Tranquility" I connect direct to the IP of 157.157.139.10
And since i did that i havent disco'ed for the last hour .. wtf ? Why would that work .. and it works on all 4 of my accounts ..
Or is the problem fixed ?

So uh, can't we just go ahead and clone them? One set for the fanfest, one set for the CTD issue, another set just for fun?

I would rather have adsl than a capped line ^^ so no cap here \o/ and yea bbb is good but in this case it dosent seem to help :Š(

The Fan Fest is only important because people go there because of the interest in and around this game...if that same game isn't workin and like u said they'd rather prepare a party and blow up balloons.....THEN I WONDER how much of a "Fan" Fest there will be next year.....get it?
I'm sorry for getting slightly upset about this....but we havent heard ANYTHING other then "We dont know wtf is going either" from CCP so far. And when there is someone with a temp. solution. This solution gets banned cuz of some stupid EULA rule?
I understand all the Joy and Laughter because of some party....but THIS should have a first priority. Isn't a 20 page post with people desperate to get back in EvE PROPERLY enough effort for a single reply now and then from a Dev?
If i'd say to my custumers "Sorry cant help u right now, we are getting ready for a party so u can F.R.O. with your problems and just wait till the big downtime cuz we dont give a fk" then i'd prob get party poppers up the buttom.

I second that, just managed 40 mins of game time, now crashing again every 5 mins this stopped being funny a long time ago.
Today CCP have totally ignored the problem... well thats a lie, they did ban the IP address of the proxy server we could all use but other than that NOTHING !

I don't think we are expecting an insta fix of any kind. Just an update on what CCP is doing, other than "oh here is a link saying the internet is busy".
MANY people have shown problems with one particular router/switch, has that been reported by CCP to the telco? Has any follow-up been done? Provide us with what you've done, and we'll be more understanding.
Oh, and why don't CCP provide their OWN proxy, instead of simply taking Chribba's down???

And if tomorrow does fix it when do we have to wait for it to be fixed after Fanfest.... ?
I have already had to wait 4 days and the only solution I had to play has been banned.

You may want to read the new news item
"While we would like to be able to help all of you out, this problem is sadly beyond our control. "
what most of us thought really, the question is how does that leave us with regards to ship reimbursement?

Poster above already mentioned the new item.
Also the last message by CCP on this was the 18th = Yesterday namely here.
1 update a day is good enough for me, espeically if there is nothing new to report.

I have two choices for play now...since about Sunday afternoon.
1. I can stay completely still and mine in a 1.0 system for 20-30 minutes before I crash (minimal data flow required)
2. I can travel about 2 jumps before I crash.
Thank goodness for long term skills to keep pumping. I can't fight or earn any significant isk. I tried roid fighting once but when frozen and coming back in to find my ship fortunately intact, I decided that fighting is not a good idea. So my life this week in EVE is entirely Dense Veldspar...and restarting EVE.

Ok that post was 1 hour later than the one in this thread, so thats still NO information in 33 hours.
as for the news item I can't stop laughing.....
Some of them routers look to have been off line longer then a few days, and looking at the site europe has more than enough capacity to pick up the slack from a few downed routers.

I am glad they have their priorities straight, lets see...
Choice #1 fix the problem, to give their customers what they are paying for.
Choice #2 Ignore the customers and get ready for a party.
Any other company that had customer service in mind would choose the obvious one. But CCP being who they are obviously chooses to ignore their customers and go for the alcohol.

I can see why it COULD be out of CCP's hands ... but could you not perhaps setup proxies for us to use ? - or make users own proxies legit? ..
I'd be happy too provide my own bandwidth (if i could stay connected that is) if i'd get the chance .... ?

I find the news response slightly disappointing...
Can't there be found a way to put in some more slack in the connection protocol, make the client less sensitive to packetloss?
This ofcourse assuming that packetloss is the problem here. But we still don't know for sure. All the News states is that it's beyond their control which makes me curious as to who is in control.

what good is a fanfest when your game doesnt work properly for a large part of the player base... this isnt just a minor issue.. many ppl physically cant play the game!
