I think it would be awesome if a web-based link to changing skills was created for when the computer at our use does not have the capability to play eve, which causes us to lose precious skill training.

It'll never happen. You can easily write something that will log into the website and change your skill for you automatically. The Devs have always said no queuing, this would make queuing possible.

What about if you had to enter the distorted letters from an generated image before updating your skills? I have seen this used quite a bit on other websites where the system was often abused by scripts and stuff. Then you hopefully couldn't automate the process of training a new skill when the other had finished.
That would make me very happy!

This has been posted so many times before...
official stance:
It would detract too much from immersion in the game universe.
ie, eve would be less of a game, as people wouldn't be "playing" it.

Thats utter bull, If people only want to log in and change a skill then thats all they going to do, I have many corp mates who pop up during the day when they in work chnage the skill an dlog off again.
Its a astupid restriction, that's punishing the many, just to catch out the few.

lol, that's been suggested too
I don't see why they care so much about "immersion" in the game...it's not like we think it's real, and allowing us to change skills on the net would shatter that fantasy.
What's the difference between signing in with ur character for all on 2 minutes, swapping skillz, then quitting... yeah....really immersed.
I'm all for the idea, but I just know they won't do it

how's this?
I'm totally against this idea, cause planning your skills is part of the game as all the rest.
but if you could change the skill for a little fee it would be ok, nobody would use it except if he's rich or just desperate... let's say $2 per change. you could think.. pffff, 2 dollar, that 2 beer less this evening, but hey.... say that again after 20 changes.
I know CCP loves this idea...
*pssst* can I have $1 of each change?

i dont think you understood. what we want is to able to change or start training another skill via the web. not actually changing skills like "drop navigating lvl 3 and exchange for gunnery 3".
so like, i know my X skill finished in 2 hours. But in 2 hours i will be at work, and cant leave for another 3. So i can just log onto the net, and start training the next skill while im at work (without having EVE installed at work ), or wherever.

A few weeks ago a report on those was discussed on /. and over 90% of those schemes were very easily breakable and answering to them automated.

i suggest anyone who thinks this is a good idea reads the recent post dev chat interview in general forum.
oveur was asked directly if there were any plans to introduce web access for changing skills and gave it a straight NO.
