Well I get the 'you need an internet connection blah blah blah pop-up' but when I click the start eve button on this pop-up, i can log in okay. Thats without doing repairs or d/l anything else etc. I get no protocol errors or anything, just the launcher fails to start.

because if they hadnt released the launcher, you wouldnt have to contact the content server, hence why some of us who have the d/l already, can get in game the back door way. |

If CCP can adapt this to make it more multi-account friendly, then i reckon its a necessary evil that people will get used to. If they leave it as it is, well, its basically pissed off a large percentage of the userbase. |

The day they remove that will be the day my 2nd account gets unsubbed unless they vastly improve the new launcher to cater for multi-account users. |

Since there were no technical concerns left with the Windows version of the new launcher, then yes, we did roll it out. That at the same time an external problem with our web servers pops up is a really bad coincidence, but that could have happened everywhere.
We've noted the concerns that people have about how it changes the way one has to do multi-boxing stuff and we are working on improvements on this. With that regard, though, let it be said that with all the various ways in which people are multi-boxing then it's near impossible to not annoy some parts of our userbase which do this. We do not really like that either and are sorry about this, but it's a situation that we have kind of forced on ourselves by never having done proper support for multi-boxing, and adding proper support now is going to cause some pain to you and us.
There's a fundamental problem that isn't the launcher on itself but instead the issue is with the epiphany that CCP believes to have had with the SSO. The SSO would work wonderfully both with the client and in all websites using our eve account credentuials if we were limited to a single account per person as well. This limitation could be from simply banning multi accounting (I know, right?) or creating a system in which you can get all your toons into the same account (and with the new spend plex, train an alt simultaneously, there's no reason not to get this done). SSO vs. multi accounting players just doesn't work and CCP would have been better off sorting the multiaccounting thing before moving into the SSO.
They have partly sorted the multi-accounting with the new launcher, by releasing it and getting plenty to unsub the extra accounts. I guess in CCPs eyes thats progress. |

Id also love to know if CCP had figures on how many of its customers had actually disabled the previous launcher. It seems like this is a really really unwelcome change . Some of of the issues people are talking about aren't things the Community team can point out a workaround to. All issues that don't have workarounds will have to be looked at by the developers and either they themselves or us will keep you posted on any updates on that front.
Why was this rush released when its obviously not ready? Is it because you need it running before June 4th? |

Appreciate the honest answer. I guess its as close as we are likely to get to 'yea we know we fcked up, we now just need to find the best solution to fix this.' |

if its so that they know who is on what account, just make it part of the EULA that you have to disclose how many accounts and which they are, otherwise the banhammer falls. |

CCP TheRambler wrote:Hi, a quick update from Team Roundhouse Kick here: we read your feedback and we deployed on Sisi a new version of the launcher webpage that adds an autoplay feature in the form of a checkbox on the right bottom corner. If checked, the launcher will start the client as soon as the user is logged in and the client is ready, so no additional click is required on your part. If you don't want this to happen, just uncheck it, the launcher will remember your setting either way. This feature was tested internally and now we would like your feedback before pushing it to TQ, please use this thread here https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=230690Thanks!
with the greatest respect, that has probably fixed something which is at the bottom of the list of things that needed doing. |

ONLY SOLUTION IS TO LAUNCH THE EXE FILE FROM THE BIN FOLDER!!!!
IF THE GAME WON'T START CORRECTLY AFTER THE PATCH ON JUNE 4TH, AFTER WHICH AS SCUTTLEBUTT SAYS THE LOGIN WILL BE VIA LAUNCHER ONLY, PREPARE FOR A REALLY BAD PRESS:::
NO WAS I AM GOING TO ADVICE ANY OF MY FRIENDS TO CREATE AN EVE ACCOUNT.
REASON: CCP IS GOING IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS BLIZZARD.... INTO OBLIVION...
if they remove the exefile way of logging in on June 4th and this new launcher still isnt sorted, Eve will officially be dead as far as my accounts are concerned. |

After today's patch I'm completely unable to play. I start the game with the exe file, it downloads the patch and exits out as normal, the patch installs and then tries to open the new launcher. As the new launcher can't work out that i'm connected to the internet the patch doesn't complete.
So now when i try to open eve using the exe file I'm stuck in a loop of "An update has been downloaded EVE will now close and apply the patch" with it being unable to complete because your new launcher doesn't work.
have you tried opening the launcher to let it patch, then closing it and starting via the exefile? |

Even as Admin the launcher only saves 1 username, it doesnt allow you to scroll down to the relevent name and then input the pw. |

If possible, could you provide me with the Launcher logs from the launcher\cache folder in your EVE installation and if one exists, the debug.log found in the root of your EVE installation. If the browser isn't saving the usernames I need those logs to be able to work out why; is it a permissions issue, some weird misconfiguration or an environment issue. If you don't want to post the logs publicly, then please file a bug report.
i'll do a bug report because looking at the length of the launcher log file, i'll get banned for flooding if i post all that in here. :D |

I noticed that if you have the "Close the Eve Launcher" checkbox selected in the Launcher it will not remember the credentials you logged in with if it wasn't already saved. Clear that checkbox, re-launch the Launcher, and try a different, unsaved account name. It should save it at that point.
well thats saved me doing a bug report until i actually try that as mine is set to close. |

On the old launcher, each fork kept a separate account history, so each desktop shortcut would default to a specific user account. The new one lists the same account at all times.
The very strange part is each fork still opens on its assigned monitor correctly. So it is aware of the forks. This is very strange behavior. Interesting... Am I the only one who posts here NOT having an issue? The first time you log in, fully start client. If the launcher closed, open and start new session. Type in second acct info, log on, rinse , repeat. You should only have to do that once. I have 5 accts setup and is working fine. You may have to reset what acct goes to what screen via esc menu again. This has been working since day one.
