In Britain, it's quite common to hear people criticising the Royal Mail. Things like this illustrate that they're not bad at all though. In general, can post something in the morning in Nottingham, say, and it will be delivered the next morning just about anywhere in the UK.
If I send stuff to another country by airmail, especially western Europe or the US, it will be in that country by the next day more often than not. It's what happens next that's usually the problem. I've posted stuff to Canada and the US before now that has taken weeks to arrive. You can make allowances for being on a big continent with extended travel times, but that only goes so far to explaining how poor the postal services seem to be on occasion.
Well, I sympathise with you all. Nothing worse than waiting for something to arrive - especially when it seems to be lost in some postal limbo.

Edited by: Cerwyn Taraman on 22/10/2005 14:29:32 Edited by: Cerwyn Taraman on 22/10/2005 14:28:55 Ordered a 1-year subscription September 19th, 2005. No EON here yet in Fayetteville, NC :-/ It's weird because people keep ragging on the U.S. Postal Service and yet I've never had any major problems with them. Things sent at a decent speed through our postal service (e.g. priority mail) actually are sent through FedEx. In fact, a large majority of the regular US Mail is carried by FedEx as well, and FedEx is very good at getting things where they're supposed to go quickly.
I guess i'll just have to wait until they open up that new option to pay extra for express shipping as i'd like to receive the magazine within a week of it coming out even if I have to pay a little bit more.

Nothing here in Durham, NC either. Pre-ordered the subscription. I just want to know WHERE in the world it is! As much complaining as people do about US mail, they are for the most part pretty decent. Just very frustrating.

Edited by: Ticondrius on 22/10/2005 17:24:23 I know a few in the western hemi that are contemplating doing chargebacks on their credit cards, myself included.
I'm personally glad I didn't bother to subscribe, if this copy gets here or not no longer matters to me.

Im from nottingham to, considering i also know the above to be true, the mag was dispatched from the uk, the sheer volume of people posting that they have not recieved theres from around the world and the fact that the whole issue hasnt been delt with in the "best of ways".....
Id be extremly supprised if the mail system was the issue regarding anything but a tiny percentage of losses, can any1 in the know comferm *ALL* issues of this mag have been dispatched?
Cos if they have, im not ever gonna get it, if its been in the uk post, dispatched from a uk source, it aint commin.
My postman may have nicked it, im more inclined to think ccp havent posted it...
