If I read this part of the licence agreement update right then you can only run one account per computer.
******************************************************************************************************************** YOUR ACCOUNT You may establish only one (1) Account for each copy of the Software licensed. If you wish to establish another Account, you must obtain another license for the Software (you may do this by purchasing and downloading the Software from CCP at the EVE Online web site, http://www.eveonline.com. ********************************************************************************************************************
Do I need to install more copies to run two or more clients? Do I get banned if I run two accounts and have only one copy installed? Can I report people that run multiple accounts? Since CCP changed this overnight and I have run two clients for over 5 years can I have my money back?
Just some questions that entered my brain when i read the license agreement update. |

If an account = license then that is the part which got me confused.
But in my experience a license is somewhat different than an account. |

The OP was a legit question, and one that should be answered properly. The amount of attack this guy got from your bunch is simply ridiculous, including insults. If you have nothing helpful to state, only insult then just keep your hole shut, and moan somewhere else.
To be clear:
Copy of Software = one installation License = Permission to run a "Copy of Software". EULA states: 1. One (1) account per Copy of the Software licensed 2. Another account - purchase another license = another copy of the software
Result: One needs two installations (2 Copies of Software) to run two accounts (licenses).
The wording is clearly a copy and paste of another license, with small changes to adjust for Accounts. It is clearly misleading. CCP should pay more attention to that part.
Furthermore: If you look into LICENSE section, A:
A. Software License
Subject to the terms of the EULA, CCP grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Software and its accompanying documentation solely in connection with accessing the System in order to play EVE using a single valid Account.
For each valid Account you maintain, you may install a copy of the Software on, and access the System from, a single computer or Game platform, and from a secondary computer if you so choose. You must purchase a separate license to the Software for each additional Account you register; e.g., if you have 2 Accounts, you must have 2 licensed copies of the Software. You may not use more than one Account with a single licensed copy of the Software. You may make one (1) copy of the Software for backup or archival purposes.

OP doesn't seem to understand the difference between a PC, Account and License. If he is as dumb as his avatar looks then I can understand why.
On the other hand, I am not exactly sure how I would go about registering another account with the same license. Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821 |

The launcher supports account switching, so it clearly has been missed in the EULA.
And there's the key phrase in that batch of EULA quoting: 'You may not use more than one Account with a single licensed copy of the Software.' While earlier in that paragraph it stated that the client can be installed on another computer for each licensed copy you own, programs like the ever-popular ISBoxer (yesssss, feed into the haaaaate) are apparently designed to handle multiple running clients on a single machine. The real question is whether or not multiple clients on one computer with ISBoxer counts as a copy of the client itself, or as using a single client on one machine. I ended up thinking 'twinks' when I read that and immediately felt old. If only MUDs weren't all but extinct...
Back on topic, last I checked, the devs were trying to decide whether multiboxing itself was against the EULA. I vote we let them handle it themselves without this topic cloning itself over and over and over and ending the running gag here. It's already as clear as it could ever be. The OP has read something in the EULA, tried to claim it's only just been added (a lie), & attempted to twist it's meaning to add credibility to his own false beliefs on the matter (a common, yet futile tactic). The guy who was sitting next to me in the first nullsec round table who had obviously not had a shower since before boarding his flight to Iceland, you really stank. You know who you are. |
