You know, you can use good codecs like H.264 without using crappy containers like Quicktime
But I digress.

I wonder how the room sounded like over there.
It looked a little blocky to me in the first scene....

Hi Evol.
Nice with bags of potential.
If I may be ever so nit picky though, there is somethign that makes the ships look wrong. It's one of those things that you shouldn't notice, but tells you subconciously that it isn't 'right'.
In the second and subsequent shots of the ships in flight, the plasma trails (or whatever they are) behind the ships don't behave properly. They don't trial, they look stuck on to the rear of the ship, as a ship rotates, the plasma trail rotates too. Also they don't fade into nothing, they are identical brightnesses and lengths.
I really am being picky, but I think it spoils the immersion the wonderful textures and modelling create. It tells you it isn't real somewhere in your none thinking brain.
Just some my 0.02 isk.
Keep up the good work!

Very nice! But I have a question, why are the gallente alone, getting owned by all other races? Do you know something that we donĘt about things to come?

I really should leave the feedback and postings and such to Wildcard, but on this point I would like to disagree with you.
The trails are made up of two pieces.
1. Engine jet 2. Plasma Trail.
Now in space you only need to activate your jets in order to create a change in momentum / inertia. The immition coming out of the back of the engine travels a lot faster then the ship itself. Lets say for all intents and purposes it travels near enough to 100* the speed of the actual ship. Now because the length of the trail is so short you would not see any curvature in the jet engine at all. The only curvature you will see is going to be in the plasma trail that stays in space after the ship has passed.
As far as varying the length trails themseves.. As far as I understand it the scale of the trail is determined from the size of the engine socket at the back of the ship. Everything is relative and correct.

By the way, leave all compliments to Wildcard, as he is the mastermind/director behind everything.
We all work togther to make up a crew of very ambitious and talented people but i`m not here to steal his praizes. I'm here to help get it done.
I would also like to thank Thrak and Skaffen for there help in getting the presentation ready. You guys are awesome!

I really appreciate all the comments and replies so far, both positive and negitive. I would just like to say one thing about this trailer. Many of the shots are original drafts. In other words it's the first time we (the crew) have seen it all together and composited. Normally we will go through at least a few revisions to each shot and clean them up and fine tune them after this stage. Unfortunately there wasn't time to do so for this trailer due to the deadline we had for fan fest.
On that note I can't wait to show what's to come!

Please, please don't use Quicktime for the final one . Thats pretty much the only suggestion I can make .
The best option would be using H.264 in an AVI container. It can give basically DVD quality with reasonable file sizes. - Proud member of the [23].

Edited by: Dracolich on 23/10/2005 19:03:33 The graphics as you well know is state-of-the-art, so I wont really comment that further.
The teaser was a bit disappointing imo. One minute long(unless there is something i missed of it), and 80% filled with text only, what i did see tho was as usual very impressive, but...
About the trail things... I only think that the trail of the kestrel(front view of it), looks very wrong. _______________________________________
