Politics aside, I thought the wording in this article was surprisingly awesome.

WTF...the UK gets drones that can tackle...yet in EVE....no warp scram drones.....
I guess when it comes to air superiority battles over UK soil, the aggressors have a tendancy to warp off. This is news not only because of unknown pitched aerial battles, but because britains enemies have aquired warp technology...and britain has aquired warp scrambling technology.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

The yanks have built a new Drone that does exactly what you want and it can be yours for only 75 million per unit sans weapons and ground equipment.

I sometimes wonder if there are actually people who believe that, that is their service uniform instead of these.
Because I see a lot of US shows where they wear them while out crime solving. It is very confusing. |

I don't think a sub-sonic UAV that could barely keep up with a passenger jet qualifies as an "interceptor".
Interceptors typically fly above Mach 2, sometimes even over Mach 3 (e.g. SR-71 and MiG-25).

I understand why they do it in shows because if the wore their regular gear they would look like every other police/riot/military guy.

It's part of our Myth of Canada - Where eccentric, slightly-backward, but stalwart-and-true rustics use the sheer strength of their character to achieve the same results as cutting-edge police forces, all the while remaining incredibly photogenic-but-non-threatening.
America has this curious underlying attitude about Canada as being our quaint, outdoorsy, not-very-ambitious kin. Salt of the earth, but not terribly sophisticated. Mounties in dress uniform play to that myth very well.

Yes although RIM (now Blackberry) was shaky in NA for awhile it seems that Canadian newspapers conveniently forgot to mention Blackberries success in Africa which managed to help them stabilize themselves in NA again.
