Excuse me everyone, but we all seem to be working towards something easier for ourSELVES, back-up, take a breath,... and help CCP by working together on making this thing work the way it is SAPPOSED to be.
First of all, I was wondering what everyone thought CCP WANTED the BP system to do, and how they wanted it to function. Did they want us to monger over their identies, invest our time in the manufacturing process?
Second, if a player is commenting on this topic, they should mention their creditials. I have little DB experience, but I would greatly appreciate (and respect) the creative input of those who have deeper, and broader training, and experience with them.
Also, it's obvious what problems these similar icons create to each of us that manufacture items, but what about elaborating me specifically. To me, the similar colors represent the task of meticulous task of "open hangar, show info, close, show info, close".. well, it used to, but categorizing these things made them easier for me.
I'm new to the argument, but I would like to see something done, and to me, the idea of color coding the icons doesn't seem far fetched at all, please let me explain my limited understanding, and correct me. When an item is qued from the program, it asks for a image shell, and then that shell is capable of being opened, thereby queing many more attributes of that file. Now, it seems to me that in order to change the color of the BPc from the standard blue to say, Hot pink, all that would be required is a new folder (granted, not that big of a folder [compared to other things]) containing each different item in it's BPc pink image, .. contrasting the well known blue. Then, each time a player opens a screen with a pink BPc in it for the first time, sure.. it's going to lag a little bit, just as much as it always has when we've discovered something new, or am I wrong on this point? Additionally, a problem that MIGHT accure (I'm not sure how the items are scanned for integrity in the begining), the load time for EVE might increase as we, the client player will have yet one more folder to scan for integrity.
If my illustration is completely astray, please let me, and anyone following me know what to expect. Otherwise, please explain where these processes take so much time that the fix would be unfesible.
Thanks for the long read, SC
