see a lot of T2 BPOs sold on forum and wonder if the owners got some leaked information about a possible nerf. Anything?
I personally think its long overdue. |

What did those '50' (maybe more, maybe less) do to deserve having a large portion of their assets removed without compensation because they bought something that had a very, very long ROI (more than 10 years at current prices)?
And why would the rest be quitting? |

First, I don't care about T2 BPOs one way or ther other ...
I doubt CCP would just poof them away with out any compensation. Shouldn't be too much of a task to discover the most recent prices and drop ISK in wallets, assuming they ever choose to do that sort of thing. |

Nobody is quitting because of T2 BPOs, so this isn't actually a valid opinion to hold, because it's predicated on some idiotic scenario you have fabricated from nothing for your own convenience. Better nobody quits than 50 massive T2 BPO owners quit.
Anyone who thinks T2 BPOs are unfair is preternaturally stupid.
They're simply a low risk, low return investment vehicle for very large sums of money. |

It's not stupid to think that the method by which people got the T2 BPOs was unfair. That doesn't mean if you think that, that you think there is a problem with them.
Also, CCP in one stream or another have tossed around the idea of making them BPCs with an absurd number of runs, so it's not accurate to say there have never been talks about removing them. That said, I'd guess they would give a good year of notice before doing anything like that.

Yes, actually, it is. The lottery wasn't a good gameplay mechanic, but it wasn't unfair in any particular way.

There's really only one practical way they could ever remove them, and that would be to buy them up over time, in secret, most likely with confiscated ISK. |

Pretty sure they're just talking about the new decryptors (which are not a unilateral invention buff) and maybe the POS tweaks. Anything that actually unilaterally "buffs" invention would be pretty unlikely to actually buff invention income, and could easily have the opposite effect. |

Oh gods have mercy, this again.
I do remember being severely annoyed when the T2 BPO lottery ended, because I had just gotten my skills trained up to participate. But I wouldn't call it unfair, or at least no more unfair than usual.
Eve is Eve, and sometimes you get bent over and cornholed. There's nothing you can do about it except try to make sure you're pitching next time instead of catching.
You pay attention to the dev blogs, which are usually linked in the launcher, (the only use for the bloody annoying damned thing, in my opinion), and you keep your head up for impending changes. You learn to check your six. Hello Kitty's Online Adventure this is not. |

Hell, at the net asset value of most players, the dumbest thing you can do with a T2 BPO is to actually possess one. |

I've always been against static content, BPOs included. I still have vivid memories of Cap Recharger II's at 20m each. Anyway, invention isn't so hard, and I don't see why we can't have ALL T2 content dynamic and created by the player base through invention.
And a 10 year ROI? What can I say? You could get run over by a bus tomorrow.

I can't tell if you're being deliberately obtuse, of if you're actually this ******* stupid for realsies.
The reason that it is dumb for most low-NAV players to possess them is because they're one of the lowest returning investments in the game. Someone making poor use of their money doesn't make it okay to simply delete their investment instrument, and the value it is presently storing.
How about we delete your entire NAV instead, just, y'know, because? I mean, why not? Is the game going to suffer if all of your assets are arbitrarily deleted at the behest of another player? I doubt it would. Plus, it would be funny to watch!
What? You're not okay with that?
About the only thing that the arbitrary and unnecessary deletion of trillions in asset value would do is completely torpedo the integrity of the game as a whole. If we can start stripping away assets for no legitimate gameplay reason, your assets are on the block, too.
Since you're so keen on the idea, we should probably start with yours, right?
It's pretty easy to be cavalier about handwaving away other people's work, so here's a modest proposal: Don't like T2 BPOs? Buy them and delete them yourself. Not willing to eat the loss? Then **** off, because T2 BPOs are WAY beneath entitled parasites who think the game should be made "fair" for them on the list of things that are wrong around here. |
