can CCP please advise us that the launcher is still under their control ?????
or has it been hijacked for some mass account stealing episode ?????
what a sh!tfight this is
Yeah that'd be great, Mr CCP Falcon or other Dev guy. I already logged in to the game and the forums with my log in, on the Russian displayed forms. I plan on changing passwords as soon as this stuff is resolved just in case...but it would give me peace of mind until that point if you can confirm that the launcher and EVE|Gate log in forms were not compromised. This is literally the most misguided series of posts I have ever read.
It's not stupid to change your password when a server encounters unexpected problems, as it is entirely possible that the password database may have been compromised. Personally, I didn't jump to that conclusion, but there is no shame in being prepared. |

heres a weird one. I have failed multiple times to log in and I was on ts with my brother and he was able to log in and we had a weird idea. I was unable to log in to my account but we wondered if since he was able to log in on his, that I try to log into his account. and it worked. I am posting this for ccp to look into as far as if it is specific accounts that can not log in. after successfully loggin in I logged off his account to see if mine would log in. this attempt was unsuccessful.
I hope this helps CCP |

Update to my earlier post After reading the forums for awhile I tried the new launcher. Log in button worked and was able to launch the game. Character selection went normal and I successfully logged in. |

Some half-wit in the Help channel is telling everyone that the Launcher has been hijacked by some Russians to steal passwords.
He should be banned for some considerable time to reflect on his actions.
CCP have enough issues with the Launcher without the extra hassle caused by some folk. This is not a signature. |

Wow, you sleep a long time then... I've been having these issues for almost three days now, and not just the launcher... getting disconnected in middle of game/fight/jump/etc. with the 'socket closed' message. After that not able to log on, not through launcher, not through .exe file in bin folder. After a complete reboot it worked again, but only for about 10 minutes...
As of this morning, I only have had a few glitches during logon, with weird popups, one time socket closed during logon, after which I found myself on the 'old' logon screen, which worked...
Now, no disconnects and no issues with logging on with the launcher... Fingers crossed... |

All that means is that you cannot sue them through the legal system. This doesn't prevent you from complaining. Generally you will receive due compensation, if they are serious about keeping you as a customer. |

Is it a local configuration issue? I've tried all the fixes and they didn't work. Socket error after choosing my char. There is nothing I haven't done except reinstalling the entire EVE client software. |

I'm going to posit that the launcher Russian language issue relates to some preference cache on the back end that's gone a bit wonky, rather than anything nefarious. After all, it's one of the valid choices... it just seems fixated on that choice tonight. |

The C preprocessor isn't Turing complete (in either sense), so is unlikely to answer your questions.
CCP on the other hand are likely either desperately working on a fix, or crashing after being up all night. |

Makes sense. I don't get why you're so mad that I'm curious if there is any possibility that log in data was compromised. I'm from the USA. We don't typically see **** in Russian around here. You don't need to change your password...but I'm not gonna take a chance.
