There are 25 pages, sorry if someone already said that. But the ExeFile.exe, I can launch that and get all the way to selecting my character, then it says "The socket was closed", twice. No matter what I do, clearing the dns, running in compatibility mode, I can't get into the game. Very frustrating. Funny as I type this, I finally got in.

Maybe it was simply refreshing the DNS cache, maybe it was some weird persistent socket/routing problem that can't possibly exist? The answer isn't simple or else there wouldn't be so much coffee involved. Either way, it's worked for several people now.

Get to char launching then socket error. This is so irritating! CPP will suffer from this screwup in the form of lost revenue and increased support costs.

I already logged in to the game and the forums with my log in, on the Russian displayed forms. I plan on changing passwords as soon as this stuff is resolved just in case...but it would give me peace of mind until that point if you can confirm that the launcher and EVE\|Gate log in forms were not compromised.

I was experiencing the closed socket issue and clearing the DNS cache worked for me. I'm using Windows 8 and doing an "ipconfig /flushdns" in an administrator command prompt took care of everything. Thanks!

It's important to express problems ith the connection as it's being fixed so they have conformation it is fixed...walking away from the computer for a while nullifies any attempt at obtaining that conformation.
