Get rid of the enforced camera tracking. That's the problem right there.
Personally it doesn't cause me any nausea issues but it annoys the crap out of me having game designers decide what camera view I should prefer because they think it looks cool.
I play the game, not you and I'll decide what view I prefer thanks.
Deal with the enforced camera tracking and most people's complaints will disappear. |

Its something that (IME) is fairly endemic in companies with Scandinavian management.
Criticism of even obvious failures (ie you can tell its obviously going to fail in advance) doesn't happen and hence things like critical design reviews don't work the same way they do elsewhere.
While things are going well that style of management doesn't inflict much damage, but when they're not going well its common for management to be totally oblivious to serious issues until its way way way too late to do anything about it.
Edit - oh and yes, for fucks sakes give us an option to turn it off! |

Having done a reasonable number of jumps for the first time in a while I can only say :
a) the constant camera swing/zoom/etc is horrible;
b) the animation is boring.
Now I'm sorry if this is contrary to the master plan but for me this is fact.
I thought we'd got over forced cut-scenes every time we load a new map/system/whatever (pick your game), whcih is what this is but apparently not.
As an aside to people suffering from forced animation boredom - I've found that if you shift window + monitor focus then the animation finishes a lot faster.
It appears that CCP think its :awesome: and hence no deviation from the plan is allowed |

No, this was complained about when it was on sisi.
I suspect as usual in CCP that :awesome: won the argument despite complaints and as of now we're still around the 50:50 stage of whether :awesome: wins over common sense and empirical evidence.
One thing for sure, bugger all is going to happen this side of September....... |

That's the painful part: wasted time to fix something that wasn't broken before when really broken things could be addressed.
Oh it won't take that long to sort out but its summer now in Iceland so CCP basically stops work for a month*. That means that any fix/offswitch for the cut-scene won't be rolling out until late August (IMHO).
*if you live in/come from the far north/south then you understand why it happens - for the rest of you just accept its a very much needed counterbalance to winter |

There were enough that it shouldn't have been a surprise.
This is just the usual "this is :awesome: so we're doing it" attitude that prevails in many Scandinavian companies - and usually nobody dissents.
We'll see but they have more than enough complaints now.
As an aside, after 30 or so consecutive jumps I start to feel a bit sick and I'm not someone who suffers from real-world motion sickness. |

Siresa Talesi wrote: Confirming, repeating, and reinforcing the fact that this is NOT the only issue, and that the animation itself is also causing problems!
I'm sorry I have to harp on this, but every time someone repeats the idea that "it's just the camera swing," I feel like my issues (flashing lights = migraine trigger) are being ignored and swept under the rug, and as a minority in this case, I have to keep pulling them back out.
Plus, I am fairly certian that at least for some of us suffering from nausea, it is the brief duration and sudden enrance/exit of the gate animation that also affects this, and that the camera swing is not the only culprit.
I tend to agree with this. After a large number (30+) of consecutive jumps I think its the end of the cut-scene which causes me problems. I'm not likely to throw up or anything but there is definitely something about that section and the sudden halt on jump-in which makes me a bit queasy after lots of jumps.
I originally thought it was the start of the cut-scene but now I'm not sure. Whatever, its not conducive to roaming, that's for sure. |

I still hate the transition and the tunnel.
All I do now is either go AFK for high-sec moves or focus on the dscan window and spam scan.
Neither is ideal but spamming scan at least passes the time
It still sucks guys. Just put a switch in so we get a blank background but still have the UI visible. Its not rocket science. |
